  1. So you only miss it about half the time, making you an 'elf Servicer'? :-D
  2. Disclaimer: iamded will be if this keeps up. Another fine comic, great job Piranha! *y* I think we've learned that when it all comes down to it, we here at EB love violence and trash talk. I can't imagine where that influence came from... :-| *glances at the previous post* ;-)
  3. Disclaimer: No actual jellies were harmed in the making of this comic. Unfortunately. Very nice work there Piranha, hope to see more of those in the future! *y* Can't believe Town won though ... :-|
  4. We pm the questions to the interviewee, who then replies similarly. Therefore, my post was insinuating that MicVash could expect to receive said pm, since he will obviously win. So yes, you didn't get it. |-/
  5. You know, I've read so much of him now that I almost don't see the mistakes anymore. In the interview I came very close to asking myself what kind of 'cutom' set I'd build... :-| Oh, and next time you use tool and Staudie in the same sentence, be sure it's while cursing him out for breaking your favourite tool, the whacking hammer, with his thick skull. X-D
  6. You know, that was particularly well said. Bravo! *y*
  7. In the spirit of community participation, EB News Presents will be interviewing the winner of this little smackdown sometime or other ... soon! X-D So be sure to watch your pm box MicVash. ;-)
  8. I LOVE IT! I love everything about it! I'm so excited! *wub* *wub* *wub* Want to know why? It's the first theme coming this year that I can just walk by and not feel bad about not buying ... My wallet thanks you, I thank you! *y* Ok, if they make some of the tiny vehicles in $5 sets with a fig or two, I might buy those for faces and general parts, but that's it. YAY! X-D
  9. Except your correction is incorrect. All I said was that the tank sitting outside the hospital is the one we used in place of my limo. The one you ran over my kilted double with doesn't matter. :-P That's what I thought too! *sweet* So did I! Me too! Exactly what I worked so hard to achieve! ;-) Thanks! You know, it really was the easiest one so far. It gave me the opportunity to make it more like a talk show with real interraction. I hope to find a way to make the normal interviews more like that in the future.
  10. Wow, that stunt double was wearing a kilt before he got ... killt. *wacko* Ok, ok, so I used half standard Staudie questions and made up the rest myself. I'll admit it. Still made a good interview, and you noticed I had the tank parked outside when I visited, it all tied together nicely with your pic. *y* Here's to another year of exciting interviews! (another year makes it sound like we've already done a years worth, it's an old advertising trick). ;-)
  11. Welcome to the big EB News Presents New Years Special! Tonight we have what might be the most exciting, or at least the most confusing episode ever! Joining us this evening is my very special guest, imperialshadows. Filling in for Staudie as reporter this week will be imperialshadows! Of course, I'm your host, imperialshadows! Watch those colours folks, it's gonna be a bumpy ride ahead... *wacko* In case you weren't watching last week (shame on you!), our special guest was Hinckley, who, at the request of our usual reporter, Stauder, provided us with some special entertainment in the form of pranks. First, he swirlied my stunt double: X-O Then he put Staudie through the chipper/shredder. The real Staudie. We couldn't afford a stunt double or cardboard cutout to use instead. :-D So, as Staudie is recovering from his slight mishap, I'm left to do all the work around here (like that's anything new). As a result, it's me, interviewing me, and heckling myself. 8-
  12. Very nice! Great ship, island scenery, a good solid plot with plenty of action, and a bikini babe. All around winner there! *y* I'd only make one adjustment, and while it's an easy one, it makes a pretty dramatic difference. The font/script/speech balloons could use a bit of refining. A bigger font, a little bit of editing into more standardized English, better looking balloons. Get that part of it perfected, and you've got the whole thing down. Either way, I'm looking forward to the continued exploits of our young and upcoming new Captain and congratulate you both on a job well done! OH! And I loved the islander translations! ;-)
  13. Shut up you! >:-( You're currently in the hospital heavily sedated and having some useless part or other reattached. :-P Oh, and that idiot doctor hit my limo with the ambulance too, so just don't get me started ... :'-( Just wait until tomorrow when I post the next episode. >:-)
  14. Hard to Find is a lot like Exclusive, it varies. In many cases, Hard to Find on a normal product simply means it hasn't shipped out to a lot of stores, so it really is hard to find compared to an older set. Either way, I'll agree that I hope these are widely stocked, mostly because I'm hoping to pick them up on sale at some point. I like ordering direct from LEGO, when they don't crush the life out of my boxes, but I don't always like paying full price (it wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't also stuck with sales tax). At that rate, I'd rather just get it in a store and know it's in good condition.
  15. I don't know, it's seems to vary a lot every year. This year we had the TIE Crawler, a $50 exclusive with a whopping 2 figures (that are now part of a $10 set with 1 of them and 3 other figures). On the other hand, we got Hoth with 7 nice figures at the same price. I thought the Republic Cruiser was skimpy with 5 @ $90 but I don't ever expect to see the Republic pilots again, so I'm not going to complain. The Naboo fighter was a decent deal with 3, including a new pilot, and a lot better for me than the original one with 2 and the battle droids. Clearly, different types of figures count differently in the design budget, or we wouldn't have ended up with 20 battle droids in the MTT. Ultimately, it all seems to average out somehow with LEGO going all over the place on this. As time passes, minifig count makes a bigger difference for me. I'm becoming more focused on them than the sets (especially in SW, where we get a lot of the same ships over and over). To make me happy, they just need to include one completely new figure in a set, and a handful of recycled ones (which can be done very well, if they're creative about it). Battle packs make up for a whole slew of disappointments, so I hope they continue as well. Bottom line... keep making those minifigs and keep making me happy. Maybe be a bit more generous with them here and there (like E2 clones in the AT-TE). Otherwise, make an E2 clone battlepack in 2009 and I won't complain a bit. See how that works? ;-)
  16. Why did I even open this thread? LEGO is trying to kill me by releasing great set after great set, I know it ... :'-( Thanks to everyone for all the pics! *y* Looks like a bunch of winners except for that red truck, and I'll look for it to make clearance so I can complete the whole theme. Probably a one shot thing, I'd guess, just a few sets and never to be seen again, so it won't be that devastating, though I'll want extras of some of the figures. And a reddish brown monkey. *sigh*
  17. One heck of a cake for a 4yr old... I think mine was Mickey Mouse. X-D Happy birthday guys! Jangling boxes of ABS and plenty of cake ON! *y*
  18. Not being familiar with Clone Wars, do both E2 and E3 clones appear in it? That V-19 pilot sure looks E3 to me, though I'd be thrilled to get a yellow E2 clone (or any variation). *wub* Overall, I really expect to be happy with these sets. Don't look for another quotable "Imperial Crapship" comment out of me this time, unless we get surprised later. I am tired of Anime Skywalker already though. >:-( Crap, I did it again, didn't I? :-|
  19. In the US, some Target stores are dropping these for between $25 and $38, so you guys might want to seriously consider trying to find someone willing to ship you one, assuming they can get such a deal. I don't know how it really works out with the exchange rate, so consider this just an idea to think about and not really an informed recommendation. Oh, and I finally got around to opening this and had an extra silver helmet, but it was in the bag and not loose. Everyone seems to find different results on this, but hey, it beats being short a piece. Good job LEGO! *y*
  20. One time. ONE TIME. >:-( I forget my lunch money once and you kids won't stop making fun of me! :'-( I like to think of it as well aged, like me. *skull* That could only lead to KAOS! Hmmm... think LEGO would go for a Get Smart themed line? Nah, forget it ... :-/
  21. Jedi Jimmy! :-P Great pics though, a lot to look forward to. Going to be a tough year if we really end up with the RGS and the AT-TE, then all those midsized and smaller ones, not to mention Town Plan and all of that ... Bankruptcy On??? 8-
  22. Consider your crazy selves to be Big Billboard o' Doomified! ;-) May the best MOC win! *y*
  23. Dare I mention that as our holiday special, we presented a new look at one of EB's favourite members (I said member... :-$ )? I'm sure it would have been a much more popular episode, but apparently everyone takes time out of their otherwise completely empty schedules to sit and open presents and junk. :-| So go read it, people. Geez. It's actually funny, and Staudie nearly dies. It's an all-around winner! *y* Zee Whacker, Re-Deux. (and yes, there is whacking in there, some of which is important for next weeks show as well) Speaking of next week ... Coming on New Years Eve, the interview you've all been waiting for ... Dick Clark! *wacko* No, not really, but I swear, he doesn't age either. I think he's undead too. *skull* Disclaimer: If he's actually aged, or dead or something, I didn't hear about it, so don't blame me for jokes done in poor taste. You get what you pay for, and so far I haven't gotten my first check for this gig. >:-( ;-)
  24. Hit the Shop @ Home clearance sale for a few more things I don't really need ... Hobby train, couple of sets of track and switchers. Cyclone Defender and Blade Titan. Plates, glasses, and corkscrew/bottle opener. ($2.98 each, so shut up >:-( ). 2007 City Advent Calender. LEGO City Police Investigator Set (it's cool and cheap!) Everything was either half off or in some cases a lot better. Clearance On! *y*
  25. Mindless fanboy! :-P That said, I pretty much believe that they weigh the sets, I just don't think the standards for rejection are very tight, so a lot of sets make it out with problems. Conversely, I've never received a set with a wrong coloured or broken part. I've always sort of hoped for some swirled bricks, but the only ones I have I had to buy on eBay. I didn't even get the wrong head in the Republic Cruiser. I don't even request the common parts that are missing anymore. Basically, it has to be a minifig part or something unusual. Sometimes I think that replacing the common ones myself is doing LEGO a disservice, not letting them know that there are problems, but I just can't imagine having them send .12 worth of parts. Oh well, guess I'm a fanboy too. :-$
