  1. If they want my vote, they'd better find a way to include the littering girl band. *wub*
  2. Welcome to EB, the best FREE internet LEGO forum on the planet ... and beyond! Beyond what, I'm not sure. Trains? Reviews? I bet we'd love to have some incredibly detailed and picture heavy reviews of trains around here, I know I would. 9V On! *y*
  3. Nah, I'm nearly impossible to um, afend (offend?), mostly because winge doesn't mean anything in English and I was making a silly email spam joke about it. It's the kind of thing I do. I've heard they're coming out with medication to prevent that though. I should ask my doctor about it, assuming it doesn't cause internal bleeding and sudden death. That gets old after awhile. ;-) Just for the sake of learning, what does 'winge' mean?
  4. The actual title of this is: EB News Presents: Norro, Not to be confused with that other guy who should have his own LEGO theme. Think that would fit? Not quite. >:-( Welcome to another exciting episode of EB News Presents! I'm your host this evening, imperialshadows, our occasionally present reporter Staudie actually made it in to work this time, though that shirt he's wearing is just awful, and we're fortunate to have Norro as our special guest! Staudie! *Stauder jumps, surprised* What??? Did you have another nice week off? I told you, someone had my tank towed. Oh yes, that old excuse. The dog ate your microphone, the clock didn't go off, I've heard them all. Well, whatever the case, how are you doing this evening? Oh I'm ... *interrupts* Enough about you, let's get started with our guest! Grrr... Q. So, Norro, Would you mind explaining your name and Sigfig? Its a obvious parody of Zorro, but why? A. One of my younger sisters christened me "Norro" while watching a Zorro film. It is (presumably) a combination of my name (Nathan) and Zorro... The new sig-fig will play host to my forthcoming web site. Which should allow me to develop my lego hobby to even greater heights. When I can find some time... Have I ever mentioned just how much I'd love a Zorro theme in LEGO? It'd be a lovely excuse to bring back part of Pirates and part of Wild West and would make me very happy. *wub* You've mentioned it 17 times before. You know what else I've mentioned 17 times before? *shakes his sword at Stauder* Moving on! X-O Q. What got you into lego? How did you find EB? A. Only toy I've ever had, ask anyone who's ever known me. When I was just beginning to think I was too old but hadn't actually stopped buying or building, I discovered Lugnet and the rest is history. I found EB as a refreshingly witty online lego hangout which lacked a lot of the encroaching Political Correctness which I've always felt is a real creativity choker. Q. What are your 3 favourite sets? A. 6066 (The one, the only) 6175 (Brilliant build, playability, pieces, and price point) 6755 (Just fun in a box) 6066! We have a winner! Q. Favourite theme? A. And they told me you were a tough interviewer... CASTLE! The last person to claim Staudie was tough was a cannibal he was trying to interview ... Q. The best lego related IRL moment? A. Discovering one other fan here... A good reporter would ask who that is. Let's see what Stauder does... Q. And the best EB related moment? A. "Crouching Tiger Hidden Mayor" contributing Hobbes sig/title Q. How is the Irish Lug comeing along? We hadnt had news about it. Any words you'd like to spread about it? A. I've dropped the ball to be honest after a disappointing initial response. I'll try again but it may have to start out as drinks for three... Q. Mustard or Ketchup? A. Ketchup... who eats mustard? I won't name names, but it starts with an S and ends with a tauder. :-| Q. What do you think about the way TLC is going? Good? Bad? Megablock? A. Confused, some nice sets, some good ideas, free falling quality, lack of availability, colour consistency, and bley.... I haven't made up my own mind... Q. Do you have any mocs or vigs you'd like to show us? A. I'm currently working on the third installment of my MOCtale series (The Epic Beginning...) but haven't published the second one due to editing hold ups and the need for a BrickShelf alternative... Q. So you are our castle expert, how did that come along? I mean did you just go round rating castle mocs? A. No, I wouldn't rate someone else's MOC... Jipay generously gave me the title after I built the Entrance to the Caves. Q. What would you say is the best castle moc you've seen so far? A. Most of Jojo's work has an amazing depth to it. Unfortunately he is a very infrequent visitor here. Q. Am I annoying? A. What rating were you trying to keep this at? ;-) Seriously... no I won't lie... X-D We all know the answer to this one anyway... Q. Who should we interview? A. Has Glyman been done? Not yet. Gylman either. ;-) Well, that was certainly an interesting interview, thanks for joining us Norro! *y* Oh, it's been my pleasure. Most of it, at least. :-/ Was something wrong? It's just that shirt he's wearing, it's hurting my eyes. :-X You know, I have a sword over here if you'd like to go all Zorro on it. Really? May I? *sweet* I insist. Hey! HEY! HELP! HEEEELP! *Stauder runs around the studio, trying to evade the lightning fast swordwork of Norro* Stand still, you're not being polite to our guest ... *hilarity ensues as the image fades*
  5. Excellent job! *y* I really like yours and the suggestions here should finish up the job nicely (forgetting Sam... :-|). I'd like to see the whole movie recreated in LEGO by someone with far too much time on their hands. It wouldn't take a ton of mocs, there aren't really as many different locations as in a lot of movies. Could even use the current Eiffel Tower ... 'you wore blue, the Germans wore grey...' I'm confused by the other one. It's sort of like they're outside, yet inside, yet there's a car, but ... Still, I like the entrance to it, or is that the exit? Well... *wacko* Oh, and yeah, that Fabuland part is great, I've got to pick some of those up. Hope they're in other colours though.
  6. Make it stop! *wacko* *wanders off* ... *sing* her body close to me *sing* ... AAAAARGGGGHHHH! >:-(
  7. Colour and type. Type first. Assembled 'stock' minifigs are seperate, put together on baseplates by theme. Stock meaning figures that are assembled as originally shown in the set instructions. Custom figures are usually either displayed seperately somewhere or in a scene. Minifig parts are seperated by print, colour, type. Accessories, helmets, shields, weapons, etc, are sorted by theme and then put in seperate containers with compartments. Bulk bricks (2x2s, etc) are sorted by colour then type to get them out of the way. Specialty parts are sorted by type but sometimes mixed by colour, since it isn't hard to find a red steering wheel assembly in a pile of assorted colours. The exception being the odd part that might be in old grey, dark grey, or brown. I will keep them on their own no matter what (actually, I'll put them all together, knowing that I'm only having to choose between the 3 'old' colours). Instructions are in binders in sleeves. Stickers as well. Boxes are ... EVERYWHERE. AAaaaaahhhhhh. *wacko*
  8. If you're complaining about the US prices of currently produced sets then maybe they just aren't for you, but they're the most reasonable you'll find on the planet for the same items. Complaining about sets that have been out of production for years is just silly. Go buy a monorail or a green forestwoman and then come back and gripe about these. The beauty of LEGO is that it offers possibilities. You can buy a set or you can build something similar yourself. No one forces the issue, and as many here have shown, some of the best creations are your own creations. I'll admit, it's an expensive year. Indy, the normal SW line, the Clone Wars line, great sets in Castle and City, impulse sets. It isn't cheap, but it sure beats those years when everything was crap. Just pick and choose and use whatever restraint you can, but don't come back griping later when the ones you missed are a fortune, you already know that's how it works.
  9. I get 'enlarge your winge' emails all the time. What makes them think I don't already have a huge winge? >:-(
  10. It looks like a nice little commemorative set, though I hope it comes with more than one gold brick (as it seems to indicate). Whatever the case, it'll certainly be cheap and worth picking up. Thanks for the sneak peek, legomilk! *y*
  11. Updated accordingly! I especially like seeing a picture of it, since that allowed me to put it back in it's original formatting. Good job! *y*
  12. That's helpful indeed. I was assuming eenzame meant insane or something similar (a silly attempt at phonetic translation that usually works fairly well). Lonely might be sadder, but at least I don't have to worry that he's going to chew off my toes now. ;-)
  13. Apparently TLG thinks we lose all interest in nice, peaceful themes when we turn 6, or whatever the top end of the Duplo age range is. Though I could skip both circus and cavemen, assuming zoo included all of the circus animals. ... and a pony. :'-(
  14. Crazy, but a good kind of crazy. *wacko* *y* Look forward to more! *sweet*
  15. No, now you've gotten me in the mood for cookies. :'-( As for that Titan XP, it looks like he's holding two minifigs in his clutched fists, about to squeeze the life out of them as they attempt to wiggle free. Oh, the humanity! 8-
  16. I get a little image that says: Cookies must be enabled Go figure. I probably have "accept cookies from sites other than the site you're on" turned off.
  17. Sounds interesting! I look forward to seeing your new 'program'! *y*
  18. Excellent, thanks for the information! The first post has been updated accordingly. *sweet*
  19. Welcome Ryan. That's certainly one of the most original introductions yet. Tell me, how did you enjoy your time at Harvard? Are they still the same wild and crazy kids they were back in my days studying astrophysics with a minor in extinct ancient languages? I know I never missed a chance to listen to mad old Professor Flargdonegal ramble on about analytic and algebraic topology of locally Euclidean parameterization of infinitely differentiable Riemannian manifold. Fascinating stuff! *y* Well, enough with the past. Please say hello to your mother for me. ;-) Eurobricks: Join for the women. Stay for the LEGO.
  20. Welcome to EB! Please be sure to check out the Big Billboard o' Doom at the end of my post to get to know us better, and maybe let us know a little more about you. For example, what's your favourite theme and how long have you been collecting/playing with LEGO?
  21. Great review iamded! Lots of pics, all the details. Wish I could find some of these sets locally, but so far no luck. :'-( I fully intend to steal your use of a character to do the reviewing, should I ever do one like this. X-D Oh, and if EB News Presents ever needs someone to do a commercial, we'll be sure to get in touch with you. *y* Are you sure it's the avatar doing it? 8-| :-D ;-)
  22. I don't really understand your question, it's too vague. Try "How I make torsos in MS Paint", or check the Minifig Customization Workshop for lots of useful information. Good luck!
  23. Some exo-force hair would work great with that combo. Crazy Haired Masked Wrestler On! *y*
  24. Peeron beginning to take a dim view of offsite linking? 8-|
