Aluvar and Shadows are on their way to confront the evil but generally inept Flangdor and try to get to the root of this whole situation. Meanwhile ... It seems that our Princesses are about to meet. Having known each other since they were children, I suspect they may want to join forces in dealing with whatever it was that caused the explosion that shook the Imperial Tavern and ruined poor Grandoth's chance to have some ribs. In other words... there's a rumble in L-13, and we're all invited!

K-18 Crown Castle Underground Tunnels OW! Hey, look, I know you're gonna kill me, but you don't have to be rough about it. Oh no, we aren't going to kill you, we're going to use you. Use me? We're exchanging you for the real Vrend. They'll think that you're him. You were supposed to think that I was him. We knew better immediately. You didn't smell right. I'm not sure how the Master knew. The master... Flandgor is a two-bit, half-wit, can't-cast-for-sh... um... he's a crummy magician in an oversized hat. Yes, he is. If you know that, why are you working for him? He serves our purposes, for now. And here we are. The cloaked skellie slides a rock out of the wall and peers through. Not seeing anyone in the dungeon of Crown Castle, he presses the stone that opens the secret passage. A wall shifts, providing enough room to enter. As he does this, the other skellie bashes Bluervo in the head again, to keep him from crying out. They drag him into the dungeon, unlock the cell containing the sleeping Vrend, and toss him inside. Now, we'll take this one and see if he has valuable information. It will take them hours before they even discover the switch. Shadows steps from out of the ... well ... shadows and casts a quick spell, slamming the two skellies into the wall behind them, knocking them out and shattering a few bones along the way. Welcome to the party, lads, so glad you could make it! Do you always have to be so overly dramatic? What? It was a good line. Now what? Now you wake Bluervo and return him to his normal form while I get these cloaks. What do we want those for? We're going for a little walk. Oh dear. You know, it's a wonder you've lived as long as you have. I know. Exciting, isn't it? Shadows crosses over to the skellies and removes their cloaks, discovering several small pouches and other items underneath. He collects it all together and assumes the disguise. Aluvar wakes Bluervo and returns him to his normal form. I can't believe it! You saved me! How did you ever figure out that we'd end up here??? Oh, I knew they'd try this, I just didn't know how. Nobody in the castle was aware of that tunnel, so I needed them to show me. WAIT! You set me up??? YOU... You did a very good job, good enough that you've earned a stop at your favourite pub. Does everyone know about that? Bluervo flies out the cell door. Aluvar begins putting on his disguise. What is all that stuff? Mostly weapons, some lock picking tools, a rather nasty device I'm uncertain about, a couple of pouches of gold, some more of that poison herb, oh, and a ring. Well, that pretty much closes that case. The skellies and Flangdor were behind getting Ravenia to kill the King, and the Queen before him. Yes, but think about it. That was years ago. They've waited all this time to strike again? That does seem odd. It means that they've been up to something else as well, they had to be. We need to find out what! That's the idea. What do you make of this ring? Shadows hands Aluvar the ring, which he examines closely. This is exactly like the one the king gave me to take on my journey. I wasn't really sure what it signified, aside from being royal. I think this might be the Queen's. They must have stolen it from her body somehow. Interesting. When we've finished this little mission, we'll ask them about these rings. Shadows and Aluvar exit the cell. Elgarth, nephew of the King and head of castle security, and Wernst, trusted royal guard, are waiting for them, along with several others. Are we ready to go? You're in a hurry. I have a score to settle with them. I may not remember it, but Bluervo told me everything. Very well then, let's go. The group enters the secret passageway, prepared to meet whatever lies ahead ... L-13 Black Knight territory Nearing a village OH OH! What's wrong? I'm starving! Not again! Can we stop at the Imperial Tavern? I hear they have the best ribs in the kingdom! It's true. I've spent many a pleasant evening there. Well, I guess a stop couldn't hurt anything. Grandoth pulls the carriage around the back of the tavern and the group proceeds inside, pleased with the atmosphere and aromas surrounding them. Alyss notices someone at a back table. It can't be. What can't be? That woman, seated in the back... I know her. Why isn't that possible? I thought she disappeared, off to see the world or some such. Let's find out! Uh, sure... Alyss walks towards the table. Suddenly, an explosion rocks the entire Tavern. Most of the guests begin to panic. What was that? I think we'd better go find out. Alyss, Grandoth and Flynt rush out the front door, the other trio on their heels.

Is there a place to post experiments, twchniques, etc?

Don't get technical on us, here. -

Unless of course, they're minifig related, then they go in the Minifig Customization Workshop. -
I'm hoping the same. I would have loved this if it had been Red space, Knights Procession, a Pirate, a Cowboy, and whatever for 2002, even something like Rock Raiders (was that still going?). Let's hope that vol 2 improves on the concept.

I like it, but I don't love it. I think they could have gone a lot more iconic for the other selections. Yes, the red classic-space is excellent, but the rest of those? Bleh. I could have given them a much better character assortment for those years, though I guess it will be a big seller anyway. Can anyone say, "lots of cheap Dr. Jeckylls on Bricklink"?

Well see, there's where you don't get it. Staudie wasn't trying either, he just is. You've either got it or you don't.

Ok, if I was going to start a poll, it would be to ask just how much Sinner rocks, because you know what, he does!

That explains why it was loading so quickly...

Ok, seriously, I laughed out loud at the budget line (and it's so true!). You know, in a contest of voices, I think you could kick PSPGuy's megabloks.

Ok, wait, this needs clarifying. Do you want to build someone else's official sigfig, or design what you think their sigfig should look like? As a general rule, we don't build other people's sigfigs unless we have permission to use them, which seems like a lot of effort for a thread like this. As for designing one for someone... since most of us have already done that ourselves, what's the point? Can you figure out a way to turn this into something that makes sense, or should I lock it?
-
Yes! I reported it months ago and they've never fixed it. Here's the workaround: Rightclick the "track your order link" and paste it in notepad. You should be able to spot the actual tracking number in it. Take that to the appropriate shipper and use their tracking directly. It's a hassle, but it works.

You're trying to link to your gallery, not your avatar. To find the proper url, you need to click the image you wish to use, then rightclick it and select "copy image location" or something similar. Alternately, you can just click the image again then copy the url from your browser. Welcome to EB!

Indeed it isn't over... but it's close. Very close! Can you smell it lads? That be the winds of desperation blowin' across those last minute stragglers out there! Aye, the end is truly near ... I'd say we're less than a day from our destiny!

There's something you don't see every day... For our regular viewers: The kid wanted to post this one, so I did some of my usual magic then he added the pics and some jokes to go with them, and there's the end result. I give him a hard time, but all in all, I think it's a pretty good effort.

It's steampunkapiraticalitasticaligisticexpialidocious! I suddenly have hopes that maybe TLG will see the light and make some kind of twisted new Pirates line merging elements of steampunk in a quirkly new way, like you've done here. I'd really love to see that gatling gun a little closer though... oh wait, there's more! I don't think it ever counts as double posting if it's being used to show me, even if I never wear green pants. I swear, I don't even remember this episode, but sure enough, it's me, oh and those other people look familiar too. Just make sure my royalty check gets sent out on time. I assume Jocko is art and you're hubris in this equation, right? You know, I'm not so sure about this "impersonating other people in fake news programs thing" though... *makes a note to add Phred to the list of people to impersonate in future episodes*

Just great, as always. I'd buy this whole subtheme in a heartbeat. Now, my one gripe... I hated it in castle, and I hate it here... ghosts don't have yellow hands! It always makes me think that it's some guy in a sheet playing ghost. Aaaah, that drives me mad! That's actually why they screamed. It wasn't the ghost, it was the ghost with yellow hands... Otherwise, I love it! It's sad, really. If LEGO wanted to, they could make a few very minor tweaks to the LDD inventory and it would be possible to produce these sets. They always seemed to want to have train parts in it anyway, and the other additions wouldn't be nearly as demanding as those new space sets. I sincerely think these would sell (though I hate the overinflated price of the LDD sets).

I have this sudden urge to add another chapter to the Aluvar Chronicles.

I take back every bad thing I ever said about Staudie.

Everyone in the audience says, "Hello Wily!" Welcome to the one place where brickaholics can come together and be of one mind. No one is going to try to cure you here, oh no, the disease is quite a pleasure, one we wouldn't dare part with, even when we're running out of space... My story is much like yours... the 1999 escape from the dark ages thanks to Star Wars, the varying themes (though I saw no mention of Pirates in there... ), having your old collection, etc. So, glad you joined, please have a look around and see that you're not alone, we're all part of this wonderful world of LEGO!

Which "bird species" could be introduced to the Pirate Theme
Shadows replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
You'll take the chicken and be happy with it. Multi-purpose, no potential for stickers, commonly identified. I mean, seriously, who ever called the current birds 'macaws' except for you? They're parrots by all accounts, even if they aren't. I would have just been happy getting a yellow printed one, a green printed one, etc. I'd even take the same bird with the tail snapped off, so it would look more like the Maltese Falcon. Speaking of which, I collect the birds, whatever they are. I still need one of those medium green ones and then I'm finally done. -
That's just it... Wild West is a pre-fleshie line, so it's not meant to be realistic anyway. Any living characters in Grave Stone are probably yellow, so it isn't like we're trying to force accuracy. Plus, I thought that having one different would add some visual variation to the crew. Alternately, I considered suggesting it for the coal shoveler, 'Shorty', explained as him being covered in coal dust. That would have been a much easier way to go, wouldn't it? There have actually been 3 black skulls, the one shown, the current 'fantasy era' castle type, and an Alpha-Team one in-between. Much as we got no explanation of the sand green partial skellies in Harry Potter, I don't think we'll get any real story behind any of these either.

Announcement of the winners of the hotrod contest!
Shadows replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in LEGO Town
Congrats guys! If I'd had 3 votes, that's exactly the order I would have voted in, so I couldn't agree more with the results! Thanks to everyone who took the time to enter, and especially to Greeny for running this fine display of Hotrodderationalism! (It's a word, really!)
