Kept it simple this time. Inspired by both SirNadroj's wonderful Pig's Tractor and Hinckley's fantastic Gordon Gorilla's Truck, I thought it was about time for Fabuland to has some overalls. Wouldn't either of those characters look great riding around in one of these? The necks are intentionally left white so that you can fill the torso colour of choice, or simply cut that part out. I don't think that the striped ones are appropriate for water-slide because of the white that needs to stay as such, otherwise it would have been perfect. It isn't related, but I also had a simple suit jacket with tie that would be perfect for daily use, as opposed to something fancy. So there you have it, a few new ways to customize your Fabuland figures a bit. Comments, etc... thanks!

I'm trying to wrap up a few little projects here before embarking on something new and different, and in doing so, I thought I'd put these out there for your potential enjoyment. Basically, they were the intent of my whole halter experiment, but ended up done after those and the bikers. Life can be funny sometimes. So blah blah blah, I'll talk some more and you look at these instead. The first two are female. The button placement and width of the body differentiate the similar male and female decals and the other one is just obvious. If it isn't, just ask and we'll explain the difference in detail. Better yet, don't. Then the men. There you have it, some mix and match for your pirate or colonial uses. All of the colours are easily changed, if you want something different, but the black vest always ended up looking the best to me. Comments, glowing praise, scathing criticism, it's all the same to me, it just helps me judge my efforts and make adjustments, so most of all, be honest. Thanks for looking!

Welcome to Eurobricks and thank you for joining! It's always a pleasure to be joined by any builder, but it's a special pleasure to see one of your skill level! You wouldn't happen to have a vague, but burning interest in Pirates, would you? How about Hotrods? Elves? If any of those sound good, you might want to check out some of our contests, I'm willing to bet that you could do quite well. Whatever you do, please consider keeping us up-to-date on your latest creations, they've all been fantastic so far!

Wow, that's a serious transition from the WIP, and bingo, you hit the winning combination! The mudguards really did the trick, along with the extended bed, door adjustment and more sloped hood. Plus, there is something particularly Fabulandifierous about having the front of truck look like a face. Yep, all around win this time. Tell me, what are the hat options for Fabuland? For some reason, Gordon looks like he should be wearing one.

Wait until he asks where the meeting is...

Absolutely amazing! I admired her in the Pirate Comic, and it's a real treat to be able to see all of that fine detail! Now I see why you wanted me to up the large set parts count for "A Pirate's Life!" but it never would have been enough to allow this beauty. Just beautiful!

I like the treads/pirate wheel method, that's quite effective for this purpose, and the whole thing definitely has a steampunk feel to it. Great job! So, what would I change? I'd start naming your characters. I really like the idea of giving them all seperate personalities based on the mental images their names conjur up. In this case, I see Petrov Pig. Petrov is new to Fabuland, having previously lived in FabuUnion where he was also a farmer and built this tractor using the very latest technology available to him. Or, as he puts it, "this most advance farming equipments you ever seen, huh?!" If you say that with his accent, it sounds pretty good. Go on, do it, you know you want to. I actually did.

That depends on the palm tree. The newer style ones are a base and a green top, two pieces, the old ones are a base, 4 leaves, a green 2x2 plate, a green 1x1 brick, and however many palm pieces high you build it. Potentially, 10-16 pieces, I guess. As for baseplates, you may use 2 16x16's in a large entry, and they would count as 2 pieces. Did that cover it?

The Many Adventures of the Whacker and the Walrus #6
Shadows replied to Hinckley's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
It's good. I still love the ship, but the plot became a little too random for me, which is never a good sign when you consider that in the EBRP I'm running a 190yr old wizard, 4 talking birds, a princess in disguise, 2 knights and a pile of mysteries and intrigue in Crown kingdom, all while trying to throw in senseless jokes and cultural references. Did I mention that Aluvar is my grandfather, and will be visiting the 1600's at some point to pick me up on my pirate ship, so I can help in the past, before depositing me in the present so I can do EB News wearing an eyepatch? Still, I like it, it's a good effort, it's just doesn't click like some of the previous ones. I can't pinpoint why, though. I think you've just been too busy doing so many things. Plus I'm still not sure what a Tiber is. Don't toy with them, they aren't actors, they don't understand the intricate way in which a plot can work, the subtle nuances that mean so much. You know, if you'd waited for me to come along, I could have made up something and saved your megablocks. -
M-10 Just Outside Dromindur Dragon Masters territory Oh, good, a town, and it looks busy. Can we stop and rest the horses? That, lad, is Dromindur, our destination. We've completed the journey? I wouldn't say that, but we've certainly completed the first leg of it. Still, that's good news, we made it here safely. Our continued safety is the issue. Take us to a pub called "The Ravine" in the eastern portion of town. Gladly! The carriage continues into town, passing small groups bearing the crest of other kingdoms. Aluvar sees a few old friends and more than a few former rivals along the way, but that is no surprise. The carriage, along with Flynt riding escort, reaches it's destination and the party gathers in front of the pub. A villager comes out to tend to move and tend to the horses. Thank you. What are you? Excuse me? You know, are you like, one of those wizards or something? What a rude question. You'd think that people would be more polite to visitors. AAAAAH! Talking birds! Sor... Sorcery. Yeah, we've heard it before. He just isn't very bright, don't be so hard on him. Shush now. I'm sorry about them. You should be! Creating such an abomination as a talking bird! You're irresponsible! Lord Dragonator exits the pub and, seeing Aluvar and party, walks over to greet them. Lord Aluvar, it is good of you to come! Just Aluvar, and thank you. I wish everyone felt so thrilled. Aluvar glances over at the villager. Hmmm... is he giving you a hard time? He just doesn't like talking birds or wizards, that's all. Should I have a word with his employer? That won't be necessary, I'll just turn him into a frog. Aluvar begins waving his wand around and chanting. The villager screams and passes out, landing in the mud. That wasn't very nice, but it was incredibly funny. I can see that this is going to be an interesting meeting. Of that I have no doubt, lad. Let me show you in, the staff will take your luggage up to your rooms, I've already seen to everything. Excellent, thank you very much. The least I can do, considering. Dragonator glances up and notices Alyss. I... haven't been introduced to your party, you know. Oh, yes, of course. This is Alyss, and Grandoth my driver and Flynt, our Black Knight escort. Hello Alyss, it's good to have you here. You look familiar to me. That's such an old line. No, really, you do. Uh huh. I'm serious! I know! You're... Aluvar coughs loudly. Enough introductions, I think, let's head inside before we attract any unwanted attention. They already had. L-16 Wolfpack territory An open field Bluervo and Boney are flying along, chatting about their pasts. So that's what happened? Exactly. It was strange at first, but I became used to it. I'm not sure I could. Pinky approaches from the north and sees Bluervo. Bluervo! Is this monster attacking you? Do you need my help? PINKY! This is no monster, it's Boney, you'd be surprised, but he's our ally. I... have you lost your mind? I'll just wait down below while you two work this out. Thanks, Boney! Boney lands in a nearby tree, effectively out of sight from any passersby. Are you crazy? What? He's a skellie! He's a bird, who just happens to have died. That's what I said! Maybe, but that's not the point. He's on our side. He isn't! The skellies are the sworn enemies of the living. They aren't! That's propaganda being spread to create this war. Skellies killed Aluvar's parents when he was young, you can't honestly tell me that you don't remember the story. I know, I know, but times have changed. They just want to live in peace. Then why are they attacking? They aren't, not as a whole race, it's just a small group of revolutionaries trying to cause trouble. Are you certain of this? Yes, absolutely! How do you know? The King's son told me! Who? Rangdar, the King's eldest. I'm going to need details and lots of them before I tell you where Aluvar has gone. I'm not sure this boner should know. Boney. Whatever. Fine, I'll explain everything, I need your help anyway. Bluervo explains the situation and then outlines his plan for further investigation of the Crown castle situation and Pinky agrees to go there and continue the search for the truth, also planning to check out the skellie story for himself. Fine. I'll go. I'm going to take your word on all of this, but it concerns me. Just check everything out and if you find something important, try to deal with it yourself. That won't be easy, but I'll try. Hesitantly, Pinky tells Bluervo where Aluvar is, then they part company, Bluervo with Boney, and Pinky, alone with his thoughts.

Special Note: Anyone who was unable to see all of the images in the latest newsletter should visit this page directly to see it properly. We are currently working on this compatibility issue and will resolve it before the next mailing. We now resume our regularly scheduled post, already in progress. You know, I absolutely adore the newsletters you guys put together. I mean, they're really the highlight of my email experience. I look forward to them for what seems like an eternity, then, just as I'm about to give up, one arrives and brightens my day! Packed full of useful information and convenient links, it's the last remaining hope of our ever seeing an official Pirates line from LEGO, and I for one just want to say thank you for all the hard work that must go into such an undertaking. I can't even imagine the patience and sheer intelligence required to get all those little html bits right, and then to assemble it in a tidy package full of charm and wit... just incredible! Oh, and that editor of yours is cute.

Fabuland Copmike's Antique Police Cruiser
Shadows replied to SirNadroj's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It makes me smile and laugh. A sure sign of a Fabuland winner. I really like the way you incorporated the car horns and other chrome parts, they've very retro-classical. Goggleson is right though, it's kind of sinister looking, especially when you realise that there is nowhere to transport the prisoner, so he's clearly going to be strapped to the hood. Thanks for sharing it! -
He's really unexpected, and he came with flowers, how sweet, for an edgy punk! The decals are nicely made and it's great to see a printed sample right away, it brings the whole thing to life. Can we look forward to his punkmobile or home at some point? Maybe other members of the guild?
-
That is just amazing beyond words. It's as if no two pieces sit next to each other, they're all at interesting and different angles, yet go together to form a cohesive and very solid looking structure that simply stops being LEGO and becomes art. Or science. Science art. Seriously... amazing. Please be sure to post here more often, especially when you're creating masterpieces like this!
-
You can post the deeplink as a regular link, and the board will accept it, just use the 'Insert Link' icon next to 'Insert Image'. What format are the pictures? I must admit, I'm very curious what you're using Crownies for.
-
They look good, Batbrick! Despite making a lot of decals, I'm a purist at heart, in many ways, and I like the purist ways incorporated in these, especially the mix of cowl, cape, and manbag. Realising what head you used for the witch, I'm surprised she looks so female, but it really works. I must admit though, I really wish they hadn't printed the legs and hat to the impulse wizard, and had given us a basic robe look for the torso instead, but that's the way it goes. Oh, and there's another week of Castle Month ahead, so don't stop now!

EBRP General Information and Character thread.
Shadows replied to Khorne's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
UPDATED with Additional Infomation and Pics Aluvar, current and a year ago with the birds, in his old lab. He's changed clothes since then, but still has that same old hat and long beard. Hasn't aged a day. - Crown Kingdom (K-18/19) The King: Tiberius Lionheart His wife, Alvena, died a year ago of an unknown illness. He has always blamed himself, despite having done all he could, summoning the best care possible, including Aluvar involving the entire League of Wizards, of which Alvena was secretly the head. The King's three sons, Rangdar, Leith and Krant were raised in the safety and comfort of his protection and wealth, becoming weak and spoiled. They fight constantly, often about who will be named King upon the death of their father. Leith and Krant have a gambling and blackmail problem. Rangdar often visits his aunt, the Countess Ravenia. Rangdar The King's daughter, Alysta, took after her mother and is full of spirit and independence. She is well travelled and an experienced fighter, as well as a passable magician, having studied with Aluvar informally during her childhood. She carries a magical sword. Alysta (Alyss): When not travelling in disguise. The King maintains a small council of advisors. Holcroft and Parn, who have served him for many years and are above reproach. One more recent addition to the council, Vrend, saved the King from an assassination attempt. The extended royal family: Duke Holgar: Younger brother of the King. Bit of a bumbler and not particularly bright, but good natured and kind. Countess Ravenia: Dark and brooding sister of Alvena who always thought that she should be Queen. Spends her days ordering her staff around and generally being disagreeable. Elgarth: Eldest son of Duke Holgar, nephew of the King. Royal Knight entrusted with overseeing castle security. Nhear and Fhar: Young sons of Duke Holgar, nephews of the King. 10yr old twins who spend most of their days playing in the royal gardens. Grandoth: Royal coachman and skilled warrior who previously served as a crown messenger. Distinguished himself in the same assassination attempt that earned Vrend his council position. Grandoth: When not travelling in disguise. Flangdor: Evil wizard whose sudden appearance in Crown Kingdom can't be a good sign. Has a long-standing feud/competition with Aluvar, but had always been too inept to be any real challenge. It is unclear if that is still the case. Aligned with whomever he thinks can do him the most good. No true loyalties except to himself. Wernst: King's Guard. Trusted member of the Royal Guard. Personally ordered to follow Flangdor, then worked with Bluervo to discover the truth about his disappearance. Given a drug to erase his recent memory, he doesn't remember any of this. Wernst Castle Town (K-19) Barth: Bookseller. Hygand: Herb and potion seller. Lorndt: Information broker. Knows what's going on, often before it happens. Can be found in a dark corner of The Cork and Crown Pub. Larissa: Busty barmaid of The Cork and Crown Pub. Why did I add that detail? Why not? -
Well, then... Hey Lucy, I'm home! I'll be at the meeting in 12 minutes. Are we really ready for it, or should I kill some time? It's funny because, in the back of my mind, I kept thinking it was M-10, then as I got close I said, no, it can't be M-10, I'm here. Well, at the very least, I can have Pinky arrive at Crown castle and do some detective work for the King. Think I'll keep Wernst around for that. Matter of fact, pics are now being posted in the Characters thread, along with some updated information that has been revealed along the way.

M-10 Dragon Masters territory Nearing Hawk's Pass I don't like this, I don't like this at all. Couldn't we take some other road? This is the way to the grand highway, and the way we need to take. What's wrong, lad? It's that dragon you mentioned. Marghan? Oh, he'll be fine. I should have mentioned that the dragons in this land aren't overly fond of the King anyway. So why are they here? This is their land, why shouldn't they be here? They're loyal to the land, not the men who rule it. Oh. Does that help us? Of course it does. We're on a mission to protect the land from an invasion of evil, they'll appreciate that effort, even if it is from humans. Well, now I really do feel a lot better. Just in time, too, I think that's our dragon up there... Aluvar and Grandoth watch as what seems to be a very large dragon flies down from a high cliff, landing in front of them. Greetings Marghan! I am ... Marghan shoots a stream of fire and smoke directly over the heads of Aluvar and Grandoth. Grandoth falls off the carriage, Aluvar doesn't move. I am aware of who you are, and why you are here. Now, you die. Oh, yes, go right ahead. Don't let me interrupt. ALUVAR! Marghan scowls at Aluvar, then takes a step toward Grandoth, who draws his sword. Alyss steps out of the carriage, between them. Princess! Run! Shut up, you moron. But he's going to kill us! He's no more going to kill us than I am. What? Alyss approaches Marghan and pats his belly, Marghan sniffs deeply, then stops scowling and seems to almost chuckle. You know him, dear? As a child, my mother and I used to pass this way sometimes. Oh, it has been such a long time, little Princess, I didn't think I would ever see you again. Yes, when my mother became ill, we were unable to travel anymore. I've missed seeing you, those little flights you would take me on, your grand stories. I am sorry about your mother, she was a fine woman, a powerful warrior and a noble soul. Warrior? I never really imagined her that way. Don't you know? MARGHAN! We're in a hurry to reach a very important meeting. Perhaps we should continue on. Alyss gives Aluvar a dismissive look and turns back to Marghan. Tell me all about this part of my mother that I didn't know. Matter of fact, if you're able, perhaps we could fly together again? Yes dear, I would love that, and I'll tell you a story. Alyss mounts Marghan and the two take off into the sky. Was he really going to kill us? Of course not, lad, it's a standard dragon joke. It isn't very funny. I was laughing on the inside, but I didn't want to spoil it for you. Well, thanks! Anytime lad, anytime. Time passes. I don't like this. Neither do I. It will be fine. It's probably best that she begin to learn the truth. I mean the risk to her safety. Flying around is the least of our worries right now, I assure you. After a lengthy flight, Marghan lands and Alyss dismounts. Thank you, dear friend, thank you very much! You are most welcome, little Princess, I do hope you'll visit again when your journey is complete. Count on it! Alyss walks over to the carriage, glancing up at Grandoth and Aluvar, then over at Flynt on his horse. Well, are you three going to sit around all day, or are we going to get on with this? Alyss enters the carriage and the party continues north. K-19 Crown territory Castle Town Inside the secret passage The third cloaked figure removes the blanket from over the cage, just as the secret door closes behind them. You should have flown away. I wasn't going to leave you, once I realised the truth about these three. The truth? They're skellies. EVIL! The second cloaked figure shoves Wernst, moving him down the dark passageway. Shut up, you. See? Shush. The party continues on for another 20 feet until they reach a larger, simply furnished room. There are several chairs and a large desk. Behind the desk is a large chair, facing the other way. Have a seat, crownie. What if I don't want to? The second figure shoves Wernst into a chair and points his dagger at him. Wernst, stop causing trouble. Me? They've kidnapped us! They'll kill us! Not likely. If they were going to kill us, we'd be dead already. The bird is pretty smart, you should listen to him. The large chair turns around, revealing a young man of no more than 20 years. Wernst gasps. Bluervo had expected it to be Flangdor, and wonders what he has do with all of this, but keeps his curiousity to himself. You do have a flair for the dramatic, Prince Rangdar. I'm impressed, bird. The name is Bluervo, nice to meet you. Nice to meet you??? Of course, there is no point being rude, now shut up, the Prince wishes to discuss an important matter with us. You really are a smart one, Bluervo. You're right, of course, I do have a matter to discuss with you, a dire matter, though I am going to have to deal with him, you know. I can't have him mentioning this situation to anyone. What? Don't worry, you're a good man, I don't intend to harm you. The third cloaked figure blows a powder into Wernst's face, rendering him unconscious. He won't remember a thing, m'lord. Excellent, thank you Garv. Bluervo and the Prince have a lengthy discussion. Bluervo is tremendously surprised, but tries not to show it. I trust I can rely on your discretion, Bluervo? Of course, you have my full cooperation. I will make a final report to the King and then return to Aluvar with your message. Actually, I had another idea. I'd like you to have an escort. I don't mind the idea, but since I'm flying, these stiffs would only slow me down. The first cloaked figure pulls out his dagger and points it at Bluervo. He's kidding, don't take it personally, and put away that dagger. I don't like him. Don't trust him, neither. Neither do I. He's a smart-mouthed bird, he'll betray us. Both of you will shut up. Prince Rangdar knows what he is doing, you will not question his decisions. That is correct, Garv, I do. I will be sending Boney with him. Boney? That's an excellent idea! Boney? He's Garv's pet bird. From the sound of his name... Yes, indeed, he is one of us. Great. Well, I suppose that will be fine. Good, it's all settled then. We will put Wernst in the alley, he won't remember anything since this morning, perhaps convince him that he became ill. Yes, that will do. I'll make my final report and then Boney can join me for the trip back. Agreed. Please make haste, this is a very serious matter. This war can be prevented. Wernst is taken to the alley. Bluervo wakes him and they return to the castle where he tells the King that he has been unable to determine if there is a traitor, then expresses his need to reach Aluvar, which the King agrees with. The King gives him a short message and sees him off. Bluervo meets up with Boney, a solid black skellie bird, and they begin the trip north.

Oh, um, well... you know, it's hard keeping up with so many characters. I mean, I'm personally running a crazy old wizard, a knight escort, a knight carriage driver, a princess in disguise, 4 talking birds, 2 of which are visiting other wizards and kings, one of those currently being held in questionable circumstances with a crown guard by three skellies, or what seems to be skellies. Did I mention the king's 3 sons, the countess, the duke, his sons, or the conspiracy plot, the secret weapon, the murder of the queen, or, um, those pesky black wraith demons? And let's not forget Lord Kenneth, Diana, and Siloux who I've all had encounters with, and the upcoming dragon situation. I might also mention that I'm building up to time travel, a flashback episode, and a double doublecross. So, to answer your heartfelt question... no. I don't read anyone elses posts, just mine. I am, however, amazingly clairevoyant, managing to make it all fit. Maybe if you were out and about in the areas I frequent, I'd remember your names too, but I've been stuck in Crown and Black Knight territory so long, I haven't gotten to meet anyone else. Oh, and I'm 190, give an old man a break. I notice that you were just (a few days ago) in M-10, "on the road to Dromindur", where I will be after the dragon encounter. What I don't know is what you're doing, where you're going, or why. Honestly, I can't keep up with all the other plots in detail, and it's more fun my way, just sort of cruising along crazily. I asked in a previous post, but I'll ask again... WHERE IS THE MEETING? Not, like "it's over there in the blah blah" but what map coordinates, and what is it officially called. I can't be too far off at this point, so I need to make sure I go the right way. I'll post pics of Aluvar, Grandoth, Alyss, the birds, and maybe Wernst (I hate to tell you, but I can't even remember if that's his name either), the 3 skellies (maybe), the crown King's council, and anyone else I think of before the morning is up. Maybe Larissa, too.

TheBrickster, and others, are correct. Give me confederates to add a new faction. Honestly though, I'll take option C... the army of Antonio López de Santa Anna! -
I love it! LOVE IT! The monkey rickshaw driver is the cutest thing since Princess Slave Krabs! Clearly, it isn't about the time involved, it's about the love. This has it. I want one of these... Just as a specific, one thing I love here is the way you turned the wheels toward the inside. A lot of people see a part and use it the one and only way they know, the "normal" way, but you've used it in the way that works best for the situation instead. That's a sign of a good job! Trying to keep the ol' indexer busy, eh? Good job!
