  1. Bidding has now ended! Thank you to everyone who has participated to this point. The results of the voting will be posted shortly (like you can't figure it out yourselves... ) Bonus points to Asuka, who, despite not entering, has the proper appreciation for the Flynn.
  2. Blue? Absolutely not! Haha. Blue and glowy blue, for maximum creepitude. Enjoy!
  3. Welcome to the very last exciting episode of "A Pirate's Life!" I'm your host, imperial boom-boom shadows, and this is my cohost for this little extravaganza, the lovely Phessy and his All Buccaneer Orchestra! Uh, thanks, 'boom boom' So, without further delay, let's show the audience the prizes they could have won, if they'd built something really good! A good idea, lad! Our Impulse Class winner will be taking home this fabulous minifig and parts assortment, graciously supplied by Captain Green Hair! Our Small Class winner will be the proud recipient of this generous and exciting minifig and parts assortment, kindly supplied by Hinckley! Shush, he'll want on the show. Oh yeah, nevermind. And, for the grand prize, our Large Class winner will be shocked and thrilled to receive this incredible Sabre Island! Who supplied that? Er... I did. Aw, that's a good lad! Nice job! So, now that we've seen the prizes, let's meet the contestants! Uh, there were 64 entries, this will take all night. Right! Moving on, let's get to the winners! For the Impulse class, which was the most highly contested of all the classes with 29 entries... Fat Tony with 18 votes! He was closely followed by TinyPiesRUs with 16 and SirNadroj with 15. Way to go guys! Fat Tony, please be sure to PM Captain Green Hair to provide an address to which he can send your lovely prize. Moving on to the Small class which featured 15 well crafted entries... SlyOwl with an amazing 29 votes! The next closest were jaudeau and Fat Tony, with 14 each. That's quite a win for Mr. SlyOwl, who should PM Hinckley to provide the necessary information to receive his well-deserved prize. And now, the big one, the Large Class where we had a surprising 20 entries... jaudeau with 24 votes! He was followed by Fat Tony, making another strong showing with 21 and SlyOwl and TinyPiesRUs with 13 each. Please be sure to contact Mr.Phes for your prize, jaudeau! To recap, here are the winning entries again! Impulse: Fat Tony, Small: SlyOwl, and Large: jaudeau! Congratulations to all our entrants, and to everyone who participated. You're all winners in my book! You have a book? I do. Can I see it? No. Why not? I left it at home. Oh. Well, I could take you home... Not without dinner first, what kind of boy do you think I am? I didn't... oh crap. *camera fades*
  4. I can't quite figure out the LEGO connection here... What to do? What to do? I know! Thread saved!
  5. I'm not entirely satisfied with my result, but I think it's passable. Check it out here.
  6. I don't normally do head decals, but this barely counts, it's just eyes, so I gave it a shot, and added a couple of creepy variations for other potential uses. I wouldn't call this one of my better works, but it should print well enough to provide a reasonable facsimile of the original. The red and green ones look too bright, but I really think they'll print nicely for a creepy eyes-without-a-face look. With or without Billy Idol. If you use one, please let me know how it works out, or post a pic, that would be great!
  7. ??? Lava swirled beneath the bridge, steam shooting up on both sides. Aluvar crossed carefully, though he had done it many times before. I hate this place. It's perfectly suited to it's purpose. Yes, that it is. Are you certain about this? I can see no alternative, Pinky. I suppose not. And here we are. Aluvar steps off the bridge. A few feet in front of him stands a shimmering column of light. I really hate this part, it's so disorienting. You should be a bird, I'm already flying, so it's like being shot from a cannon. You could always land on my shoulder before I walk in, instead. 67 years of doing this and now you suggest that? Erm... well. I wonder what Shadows is doing right now. Probably hitting on the Princess. Oh yeah, right. I think it's safer here. Probably so Pinky, probably so... Aluvar chuckles a bit as Pinky lands on his shoulder. They enter the column of light, disappearing in a flash. K-18 Crown Castle Royal Gardens Would you stop following me? We're not following you, we just happen to be going to the same place. Really? And where is that? What? You don't even know where you're going? IMPOSSIBLE! YOU'RE IMPOSSIBLE! You know, a lot of women have thought I was amazing, or unbelievable, but you're the first one to think I'm so great that you can't even believe I exist. You!!! Alyss reaches for a rock and shakes it towards Shadows. You wouldn't hit a man with a war wound, would you? Shadows points at his eyepatch. Oh, blast it all. I suppose not. Just how did you get that, anyway? Ah, 'tis a long story, come, sit with me and I shall tell you the whole grizzly tale. Grizzly? Hmmm... well, I guess I'm not really in a big hurry. Plus you don't know where you're going. Don't start that again. So, there I was... it was an unexpected meeting, an ambush even. How exciting! Where was this? Do you want to hear the story or not? Yes yes, go on. Well, I was seated at a huge table. Much to my surprise, several very large men walked in, carrying briefcases and calculators. Briefcases? Calculators? Are these weapons? Oh yes, the deadliest. Oh my. They approached the table and informed me that it was my turn to meet destiny. We fought for hours, it was an epic struggle! Every time I would gain an inch, they would grab it back from me. Amidst the fighting, we began to respect each other for our strength, but only one could walk out of that room with their dignity intact. Wow, I never would have guessed that honour was so important to you. I fought valiantly, but my victory that day was tinged with defeat. Your eye... My eye? Oh, you mean the eyepatch. Well, yeah. They said that my ratings were down and that I needed to spice up the show. They suggested exploiting the pirate craze by having me dress like this. I... what are you talking about? My talk show. I was losing ratings points to some stupid women's issues show, so they talked me into wearing this crazy outfit. I mean, sure, I was a pirate a few hundred years previously, but I never wore an eyepatch. It's a silly myth people go for because it seems exciting. In reality, a pirate with a hook or a pegleg or a patch would have probably died quicker than a healthy one. Wait... I'm not sure I understand much of what you're saying, except that you don't really need the eyepatch? Oh no, of course not, it's just a prop. Shadows flips up his eyepatch and winks at Alyss. YOU!!! Alyss jumps up, storming away from Shadows and Flangdor. What did I say? I don't know. Women! Yeah. Both Shadows and Flangdor shake their heads for a moment before chasing after Alyss.
  8. This thread is for discussing the LEGO Licensed Themes MOC Index and the LEGO Licensed Themes Review Index. Have fun!
  9. Happy to do it! Ah yes, the old "lead in to a request with a complement" routine. Good job. Now, as for that request... A voice booms from the heavens: Subtle, wasn't it?
  10. This thread is for discussing the Other Themes MOC Index. If you created something that is located in this forum, but not in the index, please check your thread. In most cases, you were skipped due to missing images. Maybe you moved them, maybe they expired on your host. The rest probably didn't include a pic, but simply links. No MOC thread without an image in the first post was included in the index, nor will they be unless fixed. If you wish to be included, please make sure that at least one picture appears in the first post of your creation thread, then reply here with a link to that thread, and you will be added during the next pass. Indexing passes will probably occur on a monthly basis, so please be patient. Thanks for looking!
  11. Aluvar's old face? Did it change? He isn't me, you know. Speaking of me! Shadows is a very easy one for the mildly motivated. Qui-Gon body and cape, brown tricorne, brown epaulettes under the cape (everyone leaves them out), eyepatch pirate face. DONE!
  12. Oh, I see. No torso. Even though it's the same one that guy in the front row of your current banner has, just with grey arms. Uh huh. The face... maybe, but you can barely see it anyway. Anything with decent eyes will cover that. Oh no, it's fine. Aluvar just won't lend you The Last Rites when you need them. He doesn't hold a grudge or anything.
  13. Neither one includes Aluvar, thus both fail.
  14. NOTICE Voting will end in 24 hours. Vote now, or forever hold your bricks! Winners will be announced on 6/1, via a dedicated thread and the newsletter.
  15. Sure, it isn't anything complicated, but it was the best I could come up with here. Glad to help.
  16. It was extra funny because I wrote the joke before I saw the pics. Still, I knew I could count on him, I just didn't know he would make the obligatory Hinck joke accidentally. Oh, and good to see you're still a loyal viewer.
  17. Funny, I could have sworn I read somewhere that it was the 8th... Seriously though, hope it was a day filled with all you hoped it would be, and thank you for having this well timed birthday, so I'm back to being younger than you. Painful strawberries?
  18. Still one of the most idiotic designs in the entire Expanded Universe. That isn't the fault of LEGO, who did a pretty decent job copying it, in all it's bleh. That said, somehow your recolour almost makes it tolerable. Damn fine job!
  19. Been a long time since an update, and there is no point going item by item, so I'll pick the highlights. Finished up the Indy line. Added some New Castle. Started Speed Racer. Some random parts orders off Bricklink. Been picking up lots of misc parts and minifigs off eBay (including a dozen Fabuland figures in practically new condition). But the best, easily, was a single purchase of mixed sets that included: 6270, 6258, 1970, 6009, and 6071 They were all complete except the first and last, which were missing their baseplates. I have a spare island plate for Forbidden Island, and I'll pick up the right one for Forestman's Crossing (a set I really really wanted). All the minifigs are complete and mint, including the rare Forestwoman, plus there are another 3 or 4 small sets that I haven't identified yet and some spare odds and ends. Total for all this? $20.
  20. How did this reply add value to the conversation? Pointless threads, worthless posts, poorly done parody, come on, you can do better than this. I'd show you how to do proper parody, but in order to measure on par with that last video, I'd have to hit myself in the head first. With a large hammer. Repeatedly. Seriously. Do better or don't do, but don't spam us up with junk.
  21. You created a new thread and made a post in two different threads just to mention that something will be coming in the future. The post in the original thread was sufficient. Please don't start new topics without content, and "Coming Soon" does not qualify. I'll go ahead and lock this. Please feel free to start a new thread when you actually have something to post.
  22. White, naturally. How could one not vote for the Ninja Princess? That said, I missed the whole ninja line during my dark ages. I'm fairly sure they were still sitting around as I came out in 1999, but I didn't pay much attention. Matter of fact, I only bought one ever, on some kind of clearance ($3 or less) ... So, my only personal experience is with the black and grey figures, who I always considered the common soldiers of the bunch. I'll be honest. I bought the set for the samurai helmets and armour. I used the black one for an Imperial gunner and the dark grey one with the armour for a custom Lando skiff guard. As I recall, a Johnny Thunder head made for a good Lando, those being the "everyone is yellow" days. I still have both of those figures somewhere. Over the years, I have picked up a few more ninjas, so I have that full set again, and a few extras (the eyepatch guy, for example). I'd like to see the theme come back, I guess. Honestly, I would just like to see the return of the Legends line, offering one good set from all the themes I missed. Oh well.
  23. L-14 Black Knight territory I wonder if I should have stayed and helped out. No, my duty is to the king, and Aluvar, and if he'd wanted me there, he would have told me. I must return to Crown kingdom. I made the right decision. Nothing will stop me from it. Bluervo finally spots Grandoth, heading south. He swoops in, landing on the seat and startling him a bit. Aaaaaahhhh! I've got a message! Well, what is it? It's in the vial. Um... I can't read. Oh, that's just great! We'll need to find someone we can trust to read it to us. That means going back to the Imperial Tavern, I guess. Wonder if they have more ribs yet? Grandoth turns the carriage around, and they begin heading north. It's odd that Aluvar would forget such a thing. Oh, he didn't. It's all part of his plan. Really? What plan? I don't know, but when you've known him as long as I have, you know he's always got one more trick planned. I suppose we'll find out soon enough. We should be there in a couple of hours... Just in time for dinner! K-18 Crown Castle Throne Room It's all so incredible. I want to kill Aluvar for not telling me, but at the same time, I just want to give him the biggest hug ever! Well, he isn't here right now, but perhaps I could fill in? No one had noticed Shadows and Flangdor entering the room. You're a sneaky one, creeping in here without anyone knowing. Are you always so rude? Dear! He saved your father's life! Oh no, it's quite alright. Yes, I am a sneaky one, creeping all sorts of places without anyone knowing it. It's quite a helpful trait in my line of work. Really? And what line of work would that be? I'm a talk show host, currently. I've been a few other things in the past. Pirate, stock broker, archaeologist, lifeguard. Lots of things. Do you always talk in such nonsense? Pretty much. It's one of my more endearing qualities, I'm told. I'd like to meet one person who would say that. Well then, let's go! WHAT? You really are mad, I'm not going anywhere with you. You really are a fickle one. First you say you'd like to meet someone who would say that, and when I offer, you don't want to go... Women, different century, same old story. It's a figure of speech! Right. Well, I was quite distracted by another figure entirely. Oh, you're just impossible! What? Saying something like that to me, it's positively indecent! Who says I was talking to you? Shadows winks at the Queen, who giggles a bit, then clears her throat and tries to wipe the smile off her face, but not before Alyss notices. Mother! Not you too! Don't tell me you like this idiot! I think he's quite charming, dear. This time the King chuckles a bit, then clears his throat and tosses a quick glance at his wife. Oh Tiberius, don't get silly! You've all gone mad! All of you! I'm going down to the kitchen for something to eat. Maybe you'll all regain your senses while I'm gone. Sounds like a great idea, huh Flangdor? Well, I could use something, actually. I didn't invite you! No matter. Aluvar asked me to serve as your bodyguard while he's busy, and that's exactly what I plan to do. Guard. Your. Body. IMPOSSIBLE! You're just... IMPOSSIBLE! Alyss storms out of the room, with Shadows and Flangdor following closely behind. You know, she's going to marry that boy. Really? Great. You don't like him? No, it isn't that, it's just ... What is it? He calls me kingy. I call you kingy. That's different. L-13 Black Knight territory Outside Imperial Tavern We're here already? Seems a little quick, but I assume that the narrator really wanted to get to our part of the story. The who what huh? Don't ask. Let's go in and see if we know anyone. The group dismounts and heads inside, the smell of ribs quickly distracts Grandoth from their true purpose in being there. Lord Kenneth! What? Who? Oh! I remember you! You're with Aluvar! Is he here? We could really use his help! No, he's on a very important mission to save the Crown King and Queen. I thought she died a few years ago. Never believe everything you hear. I... see. Well, I don't really, but let's not start that again. Why are you here? Well, it seems that Aluvar manipulated things again and arranged to have me meet up with Grandoth with a message that he can't read. So we needed to find someone who can, and that meant coming back here. I'm sure it's no coincidence that you are here as well. What's up? Up? I don't understand, but it is fortuitous that you've arrived, we could use the help, if you're willing. Might as well, Aluvar must have intended it. We will be leaving in the morning on a very important mission. Please bring Grandoth over and I will fill you in on the details. I need to convince him to join us. Oh, there's an easier way. Listen ... Bluervo whispers in Lord Kenneth's ear. You're a sneaky devil. Too many years around Aluvar. Oh, haha, uh... In the meantime, Grandoth sits at an open seat and orders ribs. Lord Kenneth calls over the serving girl and explains the situation. Instead of taking ribs to Grandoth, she brings the last three plates to Lord Kenneth's table, then informs Grandoth that they are out. WHAT? I'll starve to death... I say, Grandoth, is that you? Oh. Hello Lord Kenneth. Yes, we had to return to find someone who could help us, maybe you could? Perhaps. Why don't you come over to my table and join me for the last ribs in the house. We can discuss matters more comfortably there, don't you think? Absolutely! I told you. Told him what? Nothing...
  24. Apple Lisa ... complete!
  25. Well, today marks the rebranding of these decals into the Historic Computer Series. Others will follow as I am motivated to do one, or as requests come in. I still have a pending IBM luggable on the slate, then I might make some keyboards to more properly match these. Printers? Modems? Who knows what's next! This time around, it's the Apple Lisa, as requested by maiq the liar. I found this site very helpful in this project, as I was completely unfamiliar with the model itself. Thumbnails lead to the full size decals. CPU and mouse The CPU should be printed to a size of 3.12cm x 1.551cm (which is roughly 835dpi at this resolution). You're stuck crossing either 2 2x2 tiles or 2 1x4's. No way around it. The mouse is a 1x1 and prints to .75cm x .75cm. I would have preferred it be a 1x1.5 tile, but that just doesn't exist, and 1x2 is too much based on minifig hand size.
