  1. It predates Star Trek. Catfight! *starts the camera* We'll see. Maybe you should play one.
  2. Galactic Paranoia ~ The Conclusion ~ After weeks of fierce competition, the final move has been made and the bodies have really piled up. One stands alone, victorious. Read the whole messy ending here or visit the LEGO Wargames and Mafia Games Forum for more exciting opportunities to participate in some fun diversion.
  3. Galactic Paranoia ~ Conclusion ~ All Good Things ... As the suns slowly rise over the mutually agreed upon base of operations for the former Imperial and Rebel forces, it's obvious that something has changed. Smoke billows from the eastern and western wings, alarms blare in a cacophonous roar, each trying to be heard over the next, yet not a soul is to be seen. There are no lasers firing, no incoming fighters or even so much as a sign of life. Inside the east wing of the base lie the somewhat scattered remains of Pvt. Trent "Madman" Maverick. An arm here, a leg there. His head, a few feet down the hall. Nearby, the equally shattered body of Pvt. Boden Constrek, who he was just about to execute when the bomb went off. He never saw it coming. No one did. The west wing wasn't much better. Pvt. Quincy J. Mann lay in the middle of the hall, still burning from the explosion that had ripped through the wing and torn off half the roof. His death came quickly as the roof collapsed onto him. The fire was just insult to injury, but he never felt it. Admiral Blaire and Commander Blazer lay in their respective beds, throats slit in their sleep. Pvt. Danko "Whatshisname" Legovski frantically kept repeating the distress call from the base command center. He had locked the door, blasted the controls, and piled the furniture in front of it. He couldn't understand why the signal wasn't getting out, but the lack of response left him feeling more and more hopeless. "I can't believe this!" He never had a chance to decide if he believed in the explosion that ripped apart the command center, he only had time to die. Far away, the painting of Luke Skywalker feels a disturbance in the force. Standing alone in the center of the base, Edner "Eddie" Flak couldn't help but grin. He had done it. He had manipulated the fools into killing each other off until all that was left was one of each and the idiot commanders. As he wiped his hands, he thought about how rich he was about to become. "Everything I've ever wanted will be mine, and all I had to do was kill a few people. Not bad. Not bad at all." A beeping alerted him that his ride had arrived in system. With a strut in his step, Flak headed out the base doors to an open landing platform. Looking up, he saw the ship arriving, a small shuttle, bristling with weapons. It landed softly and a ramp lowered. As he walked up the ramp, he saw the face of his old friend, Glarg, who some of you may remember as the friendly informant who revealed Black Sun's terrible plans. Things are not always as they seem, and neither are people. With a chuckle, Glarg and Flak shook hands and took their seats for the long trip back to the Outer Rim Guild, who had orchestrated the whole thing in an attempt to destroy Black Sun and steal their business, while making sure that the peace didn't happen either, to insure that they would actually have someone to sell weapons to. "Did you leave the evidence we fabricated?" asked Glarg. "Of course," replied Flak, "the fools will think that the Rebels and Imperials double crossed each other, and at the same time I made it clear that Black Sun was working for both sides, which should guarantee that neither will ever trust them again. We're going to be very rich when they come to us for their future needs instead of our old competitors." "Excellent," replied Glarg as he pulled out a pistol and shot a surprised Flak in the chest. "Shame I can't risk leaving you alive. They know you were here, so they need to find your body here." Glarg quickly dumped the body down the ramp, closed up the ship and headed back home, quite satisfied with himself. He never saw Grand Admiral Volrik's star destroyer reentering the system, nor would he have had any time to react before his shuttle exploded into a million tiny bits of dust. Grand Admiral Volrik, standing on the deck of his destroyer, the ImperialShadow, was more interested in the lovely Twilek waiting back in his quarters. "Send me a full report on all of this later, with video, lots of video, I have other matters to attend to right now," he said, as he left the bridge to return to his quarters. Game Over. Congratulations to Edner "Eddie" Flak, played by Escape the Fate for a job well done. You had the roughest potential win, having to walk a tightrope and maintain a balance between the loyalists and traitors without letting the game reach any of it's other endings first, and you made the most of it. Well played! You may notice that you wear a new tag, as well. Thanks to everyone who played, I hope to see you again in Galactic Paranoia II: Grand Admiral Volrik's Revenge! (I am so kidding here, I'm not doing this again )
  4. I'm only going to address one point because it's such a silly one that keeps being made and yet has no basis. Just because people aren't overwhelmingly posting support for your side, doesn't mean they are afraid to. We don't ban people for posting their opinions and everyone here knows that, or we would have banned the person who started this thread for having a second account that they only opened for this purpose. Kind of proves our point. In the end, there is nothing wrong with asking people to communicate as clearly as they can, nor is it wrong to ask that people actually try to have a point when they post. If you can honestly disagree with that, nothing we say will change your mind.
  5. Yeah, gotta watch out for those staff types around here. It's true, we never know where you might have been.
  6. Ok, seriously brickbuster44, well, Jeff, if I may... my partner, he's a nice guy and all, but he's been under a lot of stress lately, what with the missing blue bucket and all, and I think he's getting close to snapping. I'd just tell him what he wants to know before that happens, it would be a lot better for all of us. You know, I'm sure we can make a deal, get you a reduced sentence, maybe even a well punctuated one, and put this whole messy affair behind us. Oh crap, I think I hear him coming back, and it sounds like they were out of paper again in the toilets...
  7. If you'd told me, we could have played good cop, bad cop. It's your turn with the cuffs.
  8. You seem awfully serious for someone who wants everyone to take a relaxed, hobbyist attitude. Of course, you don't realise how much of a disaster that is for a forum once it's overrun by people who can't form a proper sentence or spam every discussion with 3 word nonsense trying to raise their post counts. So tell me, Jeff, why did you need to register a second account for this? Shall we discuss it privately, or right here?
  9. A word from the Staff about posting Recently, we've noticed a rash of odd posting habits that detract from the overall EuroBricks experience, so I'd like to take this moment to remind some of you of the basic posting standards that we look for. Sentences begin with a capital letter and end with some form of punctuation. Sentences are seperated by a space, or placed on seperate lines when starting a new paragraph. Making lots of short posts may increase your post count, but they also increase your chances of being asked to leave the site. If you have something meaningful to add to a conversation, it will probably consist of more than one sentence. And those sentences will be seperated by a space. Or a line. It isn't always necessary to start a new thread. Go to the appropriate subforum or theme and look around. You will probably find that there is already a thread about your topic, or one very close that you could add your comment to. Each theme forum includes a thread discussing the new sets for the year, so if you want to comment on one of them, that's the place for it. Finally, we want you to have fun, we sincerely do. We appreciate a good joke and make plenty of them ourselves, but if that is all you are posting, or you find yourself mostly participating in non-LEGO topics, you might want to reconsider your choice of forum, since in the end, we are a LEGO site, and it is LEGO that we are here to discuss. Keep these things in mind and remember that as an AFOL site, we look for a certain level of maturity, and you'll do great. Thank you for your consideration. ~ The EuroBricks Staff
  10. Actually, they don't, so no point moving them. Games fall under 'Gear', which I had added to the General description just to cover them. And ice trays. And cookie jars.
  11. After 10 days, I'm a bit surprised that the railroad authorities haven't sent someone looking for us... Fine, let's try Pete's idea. *checks the pistol and then puts it in his pocket* All right yokels, back away from the door, we're coming out, we've got business to conduct. If you're lucky, we'll let you help out and maybe you'll earn some more of Schmelt's kitchen scraps yummy food.
  12. See how easy it is to come to a decision when you're properly motivated? We shall see the wisdom of that decision in 2 days. Avoid the rush, PM your night actions NOW.
  13. A backpack was included with the soldier impulse, therefore all soldiers from there will wear a backpack in my collection. The intent is obviously to show that a soldier in the field would wear one, while the ones in the regular sets do not because they're in a port or attacking a ship. I plan to keep it that way. Backpack where included.
  14. 24 HOURS LEFT TO DECIDE, OR SOMEONE DIES AT RANDOM
  15. The only thing I have done is the original Blacktron in a range of colours. Blacktron: Original and Recolours (Black, Blue, Light Bley, Light Grey, Green, Red) Blacktron: Recolours (White, Dark Blue, Dark Bley, Dark Grey, Dark Green, Orange)
  16. Most of your FBG buildings aren't strictly Fabuland either, so shush, I'm trying to get Fabuland a better home here. Chin up, it's the beginning of an incredible adventure! And back on topic... taking a look at their menu as I was blogging this, I can't wait for them to finish building the one here, it's on it's way and it looks delicious to a carnivore like me.
  17. Beautiful, definitely top notch. I can only imagine it's run by evil cows, to give it that bit of Fabuland Edge™ we love so much. One might argue that as a Fabuland creation, it's supposed to be in Other Themes, but you know... maybe this is the time to suggest that Fabuland be moved here. It's town oriented, it's system scale for the most part, it's closer to being Town than anything Town Jr ever did, and it results in creations that are practically on par with the new modular line, as you have shown in this lovely creation. Let's give Fabuland a home in Town. What do you say? At the same time, I really need to catch up on the FBG.
  18. Crazy kid... Nice job
  19. I'll go back and spice it up a bit, so if anyone has already read it, read it again in a little while.
  20. That's when the fun begins.
  21. I'd never seen it displayed as clearly as on that page, those are some seriously crazy prices (that won't ever be paid). Look at this one: They range from $29 all the way up to $300. Now the top 2 sellers marked it as a 'new' brick, but honestly, the way they give out those promos makes the difference in new and used very difficult to determine through any actual fact. They don't come in a package and they're handed out after being in contact with many others of the same kind, then carried around by park visitors all day. Even considering just the 2 new ones, the cheaper one is $63.60, which is $236.40 off the top priced one. Basically, people like to overvalue things they think are incredibly rare, but they forget that in most cases, there isn't much demand. A single piece of solid red train track for $240? How many people would really want that and what would they do with it? A handful of crazy people like me would add it to their collection and display it somehow, but how many would pay that price? I sure wouldn't, and I don't think many would. Bottom line... look up items, hit the catalog link and then check the price guide. See how much they've actually been selling for in the last 6 months on average, not how much people have them currently listed for. From there, you have to factor in how much of a hurry you're in to get rid of it. If you can wait a long time, price it a little high and sit, otherwise, drop it under average and hope it sells faster. Problem is, there's no way to determine how much real market there is for the part, so it's all a guessing game in the end.
  22. To facilitate the easier identification of specific promotional bricks I'm looking for, I've created two galleries. If you have something in here, let me know and we'll find a deal. Promo 1 & Promo 2 A detailed list of specific uncommon coloured parts would be impossible, as new ones are discovered constantly. Basically, if you have something in a colour that has only been sold a few times on Bricklink, or never at all, I'm interested.
  23. Far too complicated to be specific, but generally it goes like this: Figures are worth more if they come from popular themes and are in good condition. The easiest way to start is to look a few up on Bricklink and see what kind of price they pull in. Specialized/printed parts are worth more than ordinary bricks. People complain about specialization, but when it comes down to it, ordinary bricks are dirt cheap. If something hasn't been offered in a long time, or doesn't show up often (baseplates, for example), you'll find that more people are going to be interested. In some cases, a set is worth more than the sum of it's parts, if you have the whole thing. Instructions are always a big plus, boxes seem mostly optional (but I don't think a set is a set without a box, really). You may want to refer to this topic, which links to an article on the subject and includes some additional discussion.
  24. As I said, it got messy. Nice work, guys, you're really getting things done now! Day 10 has begun!
