@JeanGreyForever .. some very valid points. Flora, Fauna and Merryweather would have been fantastic in the Maleficent set, but highly doubtful .. I have 3 trans coloured studs to represent them on clear aerials to make then ‘dots of light’ so to speak. Always thought it was odd that they made the Oz quartet moulds just for a minifigure series and then proceeded to do nothing with them .. they already had the flying monkeys sorted. Shame .. wonder if they’ll do anything for Wicked ?

@hikouki I’m eager to see the Dragon Transformation set .. the Encanto set too, but I think that will probably be minidolls and for me as much as I enjoyed Encanto I’m an old school classics animation fan. @BrickBob Studpants .. it was never confirmed it would be, but to me it was just so ‘far off’ the animated version of the cottage, which made me think ( and other I saw comments from too ) it could be live action based and apart from Snow White the dwarf minifigures could just have been place holders which they sometimes use in preliminary images.

Sometimes I don’t think we can make heads or tails of how the Lego group / designers make their decisions. Remember the survey leak of 23 ( I like how this seems to be an event in lego history now 😁 ) .. how Rivendell sort of leaked at the same time, that blurry image and some people were saying - there’s no way we’re gonna get all those minifigures .. but we did .. and .. there’s no way it’s gonna look like that, that will be the concept design .. but it did look like that. Then there was the Snow White Cottage .. possibly the leak was meant to be based on the live action .. thank goodness the catastrophe regarding the film changed their minds on this .. but I’m happy that we’re getting the set we are, is it perfect, probably not .. but I always figured Lego would only put in the ‘required’ minifigures .. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs .. but we got two more than we bargained for. I do think this is gonna sell reeeeallly well. I think IF they dum down Baradur they wont see the sales that Rivendell saw .. people will buy it for sure but who knows 🤷🏻‍♂️

@nicknack116 .. yeah I can see the hinge too .. I also think that there may be a roof section that unclips to reveal the bedroom .. but they don’t tend to show that sort of thing on the box ( I don’t think ? ) 🤷🏻‍♂️ Edit .. in fact of course the whole bedroom section is enclosed .. looking at all the pics .. both large sections of ‘thatch’ cover the bedroom .. they’re on the front of the box. d’oh ! 😂 But now I’ve just realised which way the hinge operates .. it ‘opens away from the viewer’ rather than towards ! So the back is flat and open. I’m still loving it though. I’m really liking the glass coffin section .. apart from that lavender leaf of the tree .. that’ll be going. Some tan bunnies would have been a nice touch as that’s what colour most of them in the film were. I imagine lots of us will be adding and customising the set 😁 Wonder if the little baby rocket raccoon they did would fit in ? I know there’s a friends one too, but they eyes 🙄

Just realised .. not that you can see much as the picture doesn’t have much detail, but the image of the box art .. on the side of the box is that the back of the cottage .. it looks as though it’s open backed 🤔

Wasn’t there a rumour somewhere of the jewelled heart box the queen gives to the huntsman to bring Snow White’s heat back in becoming a set .. I imagine like a jewellery box ? Perhaps there might be a minifigure with that ? @BrickBob Studpants .. i just realised your comment is so true .. we have almost the entire cast in one set .. and the Queen / Mirror are available so only the huntsman missing from a 100% complete line up 👍🏼

I stand corrected the glass coffin IS included. 😁 Great to see that there are 10 minifigures. Dopey’s grinning face doesn’t look as bad here somehow although I still wish they’d given him his blue trousers and a green cape / tails piece .. but oh well, he has ears which my main ask so I should stop whinging ha ha. I’ve been having a zoom in on the pics, the trees are nice, the woodland critters are a nice touch too although a small fawn / deer would have been nice .. perhaps too much like Bambi to include though. One nice touch is the yellow butterfly, in the movie as Snow White first sees the cottage there are 2 flying past. Also zooming in on the bottom window on the left of the pic .( just looked again and it’s all the windows really ). it seems as though there is a lot of light coming in from the ‘back’ of the set .. which to me could suggest it’s open backed. If it were enclosed would the window be totally dark ? Hopefully I’m wrong. The thatch .. again just my opinion, but it’s s bit too over engineered for me, it’s too busy. All those spiky edges. Does anyone know if the thatch is a new colour ? Or what colour it is ? I’m not keen on those ‘carved’ end pieces on the beams, but easily changed. In the movie they seem to be carved owl heads/faces. Lastly ( I think ) is that the ‘light brick’ symbol / info on the bottom right of the box ?? Wonder if there are some light up bricks somewhere ? Fireplace maybe ? Day one purchase for me. Final point .. let’s spare a thought for hanwasyellowfirst .. hope he’s not having too crappy a day. This must smart just a little, to see an idea you worked so hard on to have it rejected twice and then this.

I’m not sure they would include it, primarily as you say the subject of death, even though Snow White wasn’t actually dead. It also wasn’t part of the ‘scene’ .. the dwarfs placed the coffin in a woodland clearing. I think too that getting the minifigure to ‘lie down’ properly with the skirt piece on might be tricky. Saying that .. I have a piece, I think it’s from a Bionicle container, that is an elongated clear dome, my intention was to use it for a Snow White coffin, before we even had Snow White from the castle,

Not sure about Bashful’s face .. but it’s a little out of focus .. wonder if they’ll all have alternate face prints ? The new beard looks good. Spot on with the hat colour though 😁

Wonder if there will be 2 new beard moulds as the dwarfs have both short and long beards ? I have both feelings of excitement and fear over how the cottage is going to look .. Hanwasyellowfirst’s Ideas set that was turned down twice was perfect .. just like the animated version ( which we now know the set is based on ) the survey leak looked nothing like it at all.

Having looked at lots of stills on animated screen caps .. my hopes for the rest of the dwarfs are Doc .. Olive Green / Bashful and Sleepy ( they’re both the same colour ) Sand Green ( or possibly Dark Turquoise ) / Happy .. Earth Orange / Sneezy .. Dark Orange / Grumpy .. Reddish Brown / Dopey .. Lavender.. which is pretty much confirmed 😁

@JeanGreyForever .. Ernie Prang .. thought as I was typing it I was wrong 😂 .. lets hope you can just turn the hat round to make it point up like some hats do now 👍🏼

@JeanGreyForever .. brilliant .. thank you for that .. I’m liking the new face for Dopey and agree with the Grumpy’s hat thing .. I suppose if it bothers me I might use the bald head piece from Stan Shunpike ( I think ) from the Harry Potter Knight Bus .. looks good so far though EDIT .. of course who ever took the photo could have used the wrong hat on Grumpy .. Happy’s hat is that colour ( looking at animated screen caps.com ) 😁

Wow .. I’m late to the party ( but I only got back from work a while ago ) I’m so pleased that it’s animation based ( but I think we’d all come to that conclusion because of the current live action status ! ) that they’ve given Dopey his ears .. @JeanGreyForever I agree I bet there’s an alternate face too although the elf hat might not go low down enough ? I may see if I can custom make some coat tails and give him some blue legs. Looking forward to seeing some of the others and hopefully the cottage isn’t like the survey leak.

Does everyone remember the challenge Lego Ideas had .. Exploring the world of Middle Earth .. I know it was never suggested that we would get any of the winning entries as actual sets .. but it makes you wonder ?? 🤔

So the Ariel’s Palace set comes with an Ariel minidoll !! It’s a nice looking set and will please some fans, but another easy pass for me. It’s sad that there’s so much inconsistency. Why not include Jasmine with the Agrabah Palace ? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Ahh well ( again ) on to awaiting the next leak 🙄

I’m liking the new hair pieces for Ariel and Aurora in the Princess Market .. noticing that the Cinderella minidoll seems to be using the new minifigure hair piece ( which is still a bit ‘gappy’ at the sides to me. @hikouki I tend to agree with you on the cottage and dragon .. I’m hoping the Rapunzel Tower might be minifigures, but don’t hold out much hope. One thing I’m planning on doing is getting the black and while detective from series 25 in Jan and seeing how his collar looks on Snow White ( if it works with her hair piece etc ) if it looks ok I may trim her current collar smaller .. that cone of shame is just too much 😂

Lego have dropped the ball with this one .. possibly not all entirely their fault though .. there’s a new image of the live action version been released, which shows Snow White in the cottage surrounded by the seven dwarves .. it doesn’t look as bad as I feared .. although apart from Doc, Dopey, Grumpy and possibly Sneezy it’s hard to tell which of the others is which. Lego could have released the animated cottage to coincide with the release of the 4k restoration and Blu-ray release. I cling on to little bits of hope that we already have minifigures of Snow White and the Old Hag ( yeah we have Florian too, but he never appears in any of the cottage scenes ) .. 2 minifigures that could be ( and very much should be ) included in this set. Are they going to waste the opportunity to reuse these moulds ? Hopefully not. The Dune ( Ornithopter ?? ) set reveal gave me hope that if this set includes 8 minifigures then the cottage definitely should !! 🤔🙏🏼

I’m still holding out hope for the Snow White cottage .. as long as it’s not based on the remake .. I just dont see how Lego or especially Disney didn’t want to release a set based on the one that started it all 🤷🏻‍♂️🙄 .. the price point and piece count of even the larger of the 2 sets both seem too low .. but time will tell.
