This topic had died a death sadly, If they’d only used minifigures 🙄 I’ve mentioned him before but Danny Breton’s Madame Morrible minifigure is just stunning. https://www.instagram.com/p/DBgt8TmpZgh/ I also think Lego missed a trick not making a Wixard of Oz Throne Room set .. the more you see the huge mechanical head in new trailers and behind the scenes footage the more I think it would have looked great built in Lego form 👍🏼

@hikouki @Aramar I think they have not been included because everything here is minifigure based. Meeko and Percy from Pocahontas were “Friends’ style. There has been no minifigure set of Beauty and the Beast yet too .. yes we have Belle and Gaston, but that is all. Bruni from Frozen is ‘Friends’ styled as are Merida’s 3 bear cub brothers from Brave. The Snogies, even though they fit ( IMO ) are from a “Friends” styled set too. I’m only guessing that this is why, but I imagine that they’re the reasons. Who ever the original creator of this is did well, it’s taken some time to put together. 😁👍🏼 EDIT .. although I’ve just realised on zooming in closer there are indeed some “Friends; styled elements here. Olaf ( although he works surprisingly well with the minifigures ) and Sven from Frozen, Pascal from Tangled, Pua and Hei Hei from Moana .. which sort of debunks everything I said ..oh well !!! 🤷🏻‍♂️😂😂

@EdWebhead could you possibly confirm if the minidoll hair pieces and also Elphaba’s hat/hair combo work on minifigures .. I mean I get that they fit generally .. I’m just wondering if they look any good ? Please and thank you if you can help 😁👍🏼

Have people seen the new upcoming Cinderella polybag ? Her hair is a much more appropriate colour for Cinderella, I’m just unsure if it’s the same mould that the minifigure from the Disney Castle has ???

I wish they’d given Jafar Genie the ears to match the Genie, Genie looks strange without his ears after all this time 😁

@TheFriedChimken I’m wondering if you might have seen this before .. it was a submission to the Disney 100 Years Challenge, but sadly not chosen. Featured Snow White in her scullery maid rags, Cinderella in her work clothes too and Princess Aurora as Briar Rose. @Lion King for me Simba isnt like Bambi and Dumbo .. whilst they aren’t minifigures they’re ‘look’ and aesthetic is minifigure related for me. The ‘Friends’ styling is much more rounded and cutesy. For Simba as a cub this fits quite well.

@Lion King Belle in minifig form yes .. Simba .. no .. he looks like a ‘Friends’ mould .. which as much as I don’t like it I can understand how it looks better 👍🏼

Ok so after the shock that we’re actually getting Belle has subsided slightly I’ve had a better look at this. It’s good, very good. It’s minifigures for a start ✅ Simba is a “Friends’ mould, 🤔but I can understand that choice. Gepetto looks wonderful and I can see people adding Pinocchio too. ✅ Lilo looks great, i like how they’ve achieved her height with the 1x2 printed brick, is she using the Pocahontas hair though❓The Fantasia brooms .. perfect ✅ Bruno .. strange choice ( to me ) I like that he’s a minifig, but he’ll be the only Encanto fig that is. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Flounder and Sebastian are a nice touch, but without Ariel seem misplaced. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Now to Mickey, it’s good. Is it as good as the original submission .. no. When you look at the original picture though you realise from the parts they used the MIckey build would have been huge. Lego have reduced the size, but it’s made it look very blocky. The roundness of the gloves on the original and the roundness of the face, hat etc gave it a classic Disney look. I’ll be buying it of course. It’s a solid 7/8 out of 10 for me. I think the only way they’ll ever achieve a Beast figure is by making him a ‘big fig’

Regarding Rapunzel, over the last 6 months there were 76 of them sold on bricklink. It’s an expensive figure and also an expensive set to ‘part out’ my guess is the supply is just going through a dry spell for now. I have a thought on Belle and the Beast .. I wondered if when the new Disney Castle retires ( and yes I realise it will be a long while yet ) would they do the Beast’s Castle, obviously include Beast in both forms, Belle in more than one outfit, the objects ( new moulds please ) and also their human forms. One of the main rooms would be the ball room .. with doors tat open to reveal the dance floor, with a facility yo make them dance together, perhaps motoriseable with hidden magnets somewhere ? When you google the pictures of Beuaty and the Beast Castle Tokyo Disney .. its a beautiful design 😁

A definite pass from me .. I just don’t like the styling of Friends sets .. or minidolls. I ‘know’ they’re aimed at a younger audience, but the builds and styling of them all is very child like. I hoped Emerald City might be worth getting, but no. I think I’ll bricklink the hair pieces and attempt to customise some minifigures of my own. The buildable figures are something we’ve never seen before I suppose. The box art is so so garish, again to appeal to youngsters obviously. Strange how they’ve used the full word Dormitory on one box and then Shiz Uni on another, it really should be Shiz University. I wonder if they might do an adult set at all. Highly doubtful, but you never know 🙄

@Arjo which one are you after ?? 😁 @hikouki No problem 👍🏼 I too have no idea about D&D but appreciate how good these minifigures are and I’ll be getting a set and probably a few extras of some. We can only hope Disney series 4 will be as good as these 🙏🏼

Given that Target is in the USA .. what will all us non US folk do to obtain the set ? 🤷🏻‍♂️ The Disney board has become eerily silent as of late .. I’m guessing The Nightmare Before Christmas set will reignite things ? 😁

The Lego trailer was done well and I like a lot of the pieces used .. finally well done to Lego for using light tan to represent blonde hair and not using bright light yellow .. I’m hoping a lot of these pieces will fit minifigures, they usually do. I like Madame Morrible’s hair piece and Galinda’s too. The hat hair combo of Elphaba is great. Fiyero’s hair could have been dark brown for me, but meh easily sorted. I keep banging on about it ( but I don’t care 😂😂 ) one of my favourite Lego fan artists on Insta posted this a couple of hours ago .. Lego look at what you should have done ! See I don’t 100% get why they went the minidolls route .. the film is going to have some dark undertones ( the book certainly does ) I dont see minidolls fitting this well .. and yes I know there’s nothing we can do about it .. someone left a comment on Instagram asking if we could persuade ( they used the word bully but 🙄 ) Lego into changing their minds the way fans got Sony ( I think ) to change the appearance of Sonic the Hedgehog after the outcry of his appearance in the first movie trailer. But my first thought was .. well thats gonna be a huge NO ! 😂😂

Just a quick thought .. and I know Lego would never ever do it .. imagine if they included the parts to give you the option of having minifigs instead of dolls .. like the hair / hats accessories are universal ( mostly ) Lego .. you listening ?? 😂🙏🏼

Oh well .. worst fears confirmed .. I’ll see what the sets look like and see if I can make some custom minifigures to go with them .. Elphaba’s hat and Glinda’s haor look quite good. Just been reading all the comments on falconfans post about these and practically all ( not 100 % but not far off ) the comments say ‘why minidolls” .. “should be minifigures” .. roll on October. ☹️☹️☹️

I know it’s been mentioned before, but I wonder what will become of all the winners and runners up from this ideas challenge ? I had wondered if Minas Tirith or even Loth Lorien could be made in a similar ‘modular’ way to the Potter Hogwarts play sets that all connect together, but Hogwarts has numerous locations which stand alone in their own right ..
