  1. Some of us have... (It was on Instagram which is why we started talking about it.)
  2. I'm gonna regret posting this but what the hell. As has been said there is no visual difference between a 'gay' minfiigure and a 'straight' minifigure and I don't see why we need to put them in theses boxes anyway, orientation does not define a person so why should it matter here. Where Lego perhaps could do better in this regard is if there was say a friends set where there was 2 dads or 2 mums rather than a mum and dad for example, however I think there is a more unsettling reason why lego doesn't do this, which not that TLG is homophobic but perhaps they do not want to upset some of their customers who are such as the Russian government. Of course this only applies to original themes not licensed themes. As for Tv shows such as ninjago idk they could give cole a boyfriend but honestly I'd rather he stay single because not everybody has to be in a relationship, I mean not many TV shows touch on this, even the legend of korra which is touted as being progressive doesn't really have anything gay until the last episode, there are a lot more straight people in the world than gay people and fiction tends to reflect reality. If you do want more representation in lego then lego Steven universe is definitely something I could get behind. Nah mate sarcasm is bloody brilliant. I think you may have gone a little far, whilst I don't really comprehend more than male, female, both or neither doesn't mean I think people who claim to be something else are making stuff up, just let people be who they want to be, unless they want to hurt other people but you know what I mean. Nope they don't sell Harry Potter products, it made finding the collectable minifigures harder. But they're Irish not English so both of you are wrong. Is it bad to say that I don't really care either way? At the end of the day lego is a children's toy and most children don't care about relationships. Representation does matter but designing a toy should be more about creativity and fun, if it happens to tick the boxes then that's a good thing but if doesn't then it's not the end of the world.
  3. The TV shows aren't done like this because of advertising standards which don't apply to films. Such strict standards do not exist in all countries (I know they exist in the UK but aren't as strict in the US for example) but lego aren't gonna pay to make the show twice. Ninjago (for example) isn't done like it is because they can't make it look like it's 100% lego but also because they don't want it too. Since ninjago is supposedly ending but also not ending I wouldn't mind if they shifted the art-style in the opposite direction and made it look not lego, more like avatar (but that's wildly off-topic so I won't say anymore.
  4. Oh Sorry, I should've been paying more attention. Bricks and Pieces maybe? Also if you mean the transparent neck bracket with two studs then that should definitely work with the city breathing gear as long they're facing different directions.
  5. Do they sell the nexo knight magazine in your country if they do then that's a cheaper way to get it.
  6. Whilst I am not that keen on anthropomorphic animals, you could sorta do that with one or two different animal types and place it in more historic settings like the khajiits and argonians from skyrim. What about the serpentine from ninjago?
  7. Hence the should, I what I'd like not what I expect. Same applies
  8. Just because they're related doesn't mean that wolves are just big foxes in my eyes, but I guess I can see where you're coming from. And to stop this post from being wildly off topic; Does anyone have any idea what 'forbidden spinjitsu' is?
  9. Nice. Can I advise you to use the bb code in future as it embeds the photo.
  10. I knew it reminded me of that but I forgot what the game was called. Snakes say hi.
  11. Not yet maybe but this could be the first. I mean they're not 'bigger' but ninjago has introduced a few new animal parts and recolours. What new line? Are there any licenses lego has or may get that involve Kitsune? It would have to be a licensed theme wouldn't it? because to have two original themes inspired by Japanese culture/mythology would be a little odd.
  12. There was summer wave at the toy fairs and the show's production hasn't stopped so no it's not the last season.
  13. The official TLG Dalek builds were both a bit too huge for my liking. I've tried a few different deigns of my own and I've now settled on one I like. Sadly the hinge plate that makes up the back side of the dalek isn't available in dark tan/brick yellow (yet) but there are plenty of good dalek colour schemes this design works for . There is a bit of the lipstick's colour sticking out but that's only because the 1x2 curved plate with hollow studs isn't in Ldd yet.
  14. Whilst your responses are meaty and often a tad heavy handed they are also insightful and usually a good read. That's kinda what I meant when I said that 'Maybe this is a thread EB should discontinue.' I was joking that this thread was redundant and overly negative.
  15. That new theme does look interesting. My personal hope for a new action/adventure theme is like a hybrid of adventurers and fantasy era. You'd have a party of adventurers Ala Dungeons and dragons or skyrim who would be our named protagonists (and the main characters in any tie-in media), they'd have different roles on the team ( like a wizard, a knight and a ranger etc ) and would be from different fantasy races. they'd travel through different kingdoms for each wave, with generic soldiers, new enemies and varying fantasy locales inspired by various real world cultures. The story would be about how the group of adventurers formed together despite their differences to fight for the greater good, thy could be rejected by their own people and come together to form a group of heroes. For example the mage could come from a culture that despised magic. It would be a bit like the heroica sets but would be composed of proper builds rather than brick built board games.
  16. Maybe this is a thread EB should discontinue.
  17. Looks dark orange to me. but I'd love more copper metallic to get some proper usage.
  18. Can someone who has seen the movie tell if Without revealing any major plot points.
  19. Whoops... But my point still stands (ish).
  20. And the Elemental master packs came out with the hands of time wave despite the designs being from skybound and the tournament of elements , and the pirate pack came out in the summer with dotd and skybound round 2. But the ghost isn't really the same thing, It features no exclusive prints and is more of a way of selling excess stock than anything else, the same applies to the stone army pack. On an unrelated note I hope the 2018 bricktober packs see a wider release .
  21. My post wasn't about me wanting Lego Avatar, it was about how whether or not a licensed theme is based on something you like will affect what you think of the licensed theme, and the same applies to original themes, so the question this topic poses is a little too vague for a good discussion, with best answer for most people being it depends. Avatar was just an example of a theme that I'd personally like, most of my examples were themes that have existed at one time or another. Take for example a castle fan, would they prefer original or licensed themes well, they'd prefer fantasy era 2 over a theme based on a marvel comics license but they'd prefer a licensed lord of the rings or elder scrolls theme to an original theme such as aquazone or friends in space. So I suppose their answer would be it depends. Or take a space fan, would they prefer original or licensed themes? They'd prefer Space police 4 over a theme based on a pirates of the Caribbean license but they'd prefer a licensed star trek theme to an original theme such as Knights Kingdom or Elves. So I suppose their answer would be it depends. Both of those examples are massive generalisations, and most AFOLs are fans of multiples themes as well as things outside of Lego. And in both cases the castle or the space fan would probably prefer their original themes (space or castle respectively) to just any licensed theme but if were taking licensed theme to mean just any licensed theme then we must take original theme to mean just any original theme. In which case the best answer I can give woulds be that it depends. Original themes, especially those not just based on archetypal ideas have to do a lot more heavy lifting to attract customers because all the interest needs to come from the Lego it self rather than whatever license it's based upon. I prefer the idea of originals themes but in practice I probably buy sets from more licensed themes than original themes, and that's partly because Lego is not my only passion but also because not ever idea lego has for an original theme interests me. Also this^ I knew those sets existed but existing and being accessible are very different things.
  22. The only thing racers had that we don't have now is the tiny turbos. As for the general topic, though in theory I prefer original themes as it allows lego to be more creative, it really depends on the specifics. Like I'd prefer a licensed Steven Universe or Doctor Who theme over an unlicensed adventures theme or a new simplistic castle theme, but those are licenses I like as much as I like lego so Its not entirely because of thelego that I'd want them to be lego themes. Whereas I'd prefer an original fantasy era 2 or adventurers over a star trek or a Indiana Jones theme despite my enjoying both star trek and Indiana Jones. And obviously while all the themes I've suggested are ones I'd like an orginal theme I don't like (e.g chima) loses to to a licensed theme I would like (e.g. The Last Airbender) and vice versa. In an ideal world we'd have Doctor Who and Fantasy era 2 and I'd be able to afford it all, but.... yeah. On a seperate but related note I'd rather waves be smaller like the 2k18 Harry Potter wave rather than the huge waves stuff like star wars and ninjago(my favourite of the current themes) seem to get. Also some set retire too fast.
