Can't believe I forgot to comment on this. HUGE improvement over your first version! This is just an all-around awesome version of an iconic ship!

Thanks for blogging me! Hopefully, we'll see some builders post their own Moodland figs!
-
The trickiest part of any character at this scale, ESPECIALLY clones, is the helmet design. I'd say check out my Cody and Rex figs for ideas. I'm glad my instructions helped.
-
Thanks! These average about 6 inches tall, which I think is roughly the height of an action figure. Can't wait to see your figure finished!
-
I agree that this is way better than any of the official versions! Love the smooth tiled look to this. Great work!
-
Thanks! I'm always happy to help my fellow builders.
-
Thanks! I wish they were!

Thanks so much!

By request, I posted instructions on how to build your own Moodland-scale figure. You will need these parts (114 of them) to build a basic fig. For obvious reasons, I won't post all 34 pics here, but I'll provide a link to my Mocpages post. I also posted instructions on how to build a lightsaber at this scale (and to be able to post it in a SW article). Lego purists might want to look away at this point! I had to cut a 4L bar in half to fill the inside of the blade. Hopefully, this will help builders who want to build in a scale other than minfig. You can check out the entire post on my Mocpages account: My link

Although I've seen this scene recreated in Lego quite a few times, this is simply one of THE best!

I'm so excited to see someone else working in this scale! I already commented on Flickr about Luke's lightsaber. Some other details you might try adding to Luke would be his scarf that hangs down the side of his hat and maybe a trans green 1x2 tile for his goggles over the brim of his hat. Han's lookin cool, but i agree the hood looks odd. I would try using plates rather than bricks to represent the sides. Maybe use a couple of those parts you used on the side of Luke's head and attach plates with tiles over them. Also, I can't wait to see that Taun Taun finished!

Another great alternative build! Obviously, the color scheme isn't exact, but the shape is almost perfect. I may need to pick up this set just for the parts.

Thanks, Masked!

Wow! Thanks for letting me know I'm on the front page! I will eventually design another Super Battle Droid and Destroyer Droid the next time I feel like building a PT or CW moc. You can check out my 1st designs, as well as ALL my first Moodland Scale figs on Brickshelf : My link

Thanks, legostein! I think one of the best things about working at this scale IS that I can customize each character. It's alot of fun, too!
-
I agree, the Jaig eyes aren't exact, but, the stickers I used are from an Exo-Force sticker sheet I happened to have lying around, so I wasn't too worried if they weren't exact. Thanks! You're right: the back panel or "backpacks" are a bit long. I shortened them by a plate width after you posted this comment. I'm not gonna repost new pics, though. You'll all just have to wait till I post another moc with BD's in it. Thanks, Mr Man! I love hearing one of my builds called a "work of art". Makes me glad I got that Fine Arts degree! Thanks, Doc, and thanks for blogging me!

Thanks to everybody here and on Flickr for helpful comments/suggestions/ideas. I'm glad I posted these figs as WIPs first! Mad props to Brickdoctor for giving me the idea (a while back) of using minifig arms as rebreathers. "Alas, poor Battle Droid, I knew him well!" This is the first time I've used customized stickers on a build, as well. Again, thanks to Brickdoctor for saying "Those battle droids' bodies look a bit chunky." Between Flickr and here, I shrunk the lower torsos by 1 stud width.

Very nicely done! I love the overall shape and that greebly backside!

Community Build: SW Episode V - Empire Strikes Back
M<0><0<DSWIM replied to ACPin's topic in LEGO Star Wars
You can build as many models as you want. In fact, you are ENCOURAGED to build multiple mocs. -
Nice work again, Masked! I think I like this better than the last one (not that the last one was bad). I like how you segmented the different walls and the way the one trooper's head is leaning forward like "are you lookin at me?" . I'd have to agree with CallMePieOrDie, though: everybody's doing something except for that one guy just standing there by the guns. Kinda funny.
-
Very nice! I like how you added the "real" backdrop and how you have Yoda hiding in the stump. "I'm looking for a great warrior." "OH! Wars do not make one great! HeHe."
-
Actually, I like this MUCH better in yellow, probably because it's the "classic" look that I grew up with.
-
WOA! DUDE! YES! This only took you a few hours? This would take me weeks to build. Love the overall shape and, especially, the greebling.

I am SERIOUSLY trying to pick my jaw off the floor after looking at this! Absolutely breathtaking!

Thanks, but don't get too attached to that pauldron design, because I completely changed it today!
