  1. Fabulous. Looks like it's taken from the real thing. Detail both inside and out is really good, and evocative of the real thing.
  2. If only. Looks like it'll either be tomorrow (unlikely) or next week. In the mean time peeps, let's get back to building. ? Sadly, I can't, since A) I'm on holiday, and B) all my bricks are packed as I move when I get back. ??
  3. I think it matters when the actual set was boxed up as it were. I nipped over the border to France to pick mine up, since nowhere here has them in stock, to be told that the one I purchased was only on the shelves a couple of days. They seem to fly off, said the lady at the till. Perhaps the latter ones have been more carefully checked as I had zero missing parts and quite a number of spare translucent 1x1s, flower heads and sundry bits and bobs.
  4. That's a superb build. The diagonal ground floor tiles gives such a twist to the building that I'd never thought of trying. Beautiful French style too. Congratulations
  5. Hi whilst I'm sure many will like these, I'm a purist, and only allow official LEGO manufactured pieces into my builds. good luck with your venture though.
  6. So now many of have build the assembly square, other than super sizing it's, what other MODs or improvements are people making? I'm starting to look at the bed settee as for me it sits real high. I might try to build it into the floor more. Also might hinge part of a redesigned train layout against the wall.
  7. Cracking effort there. I'm toying with buying the GBHQ, but want it to fit in with my modulars too. How many extra parts do you think you used?
  8. That is just genius. I wish I had the bricks, let alone the vision to build this kind of thing. You could also add modules for the Ferris wheel, carousel and fairground mixer too, to make it even larger and a display in itself.
  9. I've got those, and whilst they are an inspiration piece, they are not modular. They are only half as deep and often open backed. I think it might allow younger builders to MOC modulars having learned the basic techniques.
  10. I think it's unlikely. I reckon that there will be a 16 wide 'starter' set produced perhaps, to entice those currently not willing to spend £140+ on the regular sized modulars. Perhaps something not quite so intricate as the current models, or maybe parts lighter than half a full modular, to get the price sub £80 or € equivalent.
  11. That's a tough one to pull off, Apple Store. Often very modern shop front in Europe with older styled upstairs. I'd be interested to see the finished article. My first full sized modular MOC was a police station. i found it tough to get the feel right. I went for a small town style, rather than a city, modern block, though I am tempted to pick up a city police station and have another crack.
  12. Hello Swisstony. Greetings from Switzerland. Your wife certainly has an eye for adding much needed interiors to the older modulars. There must be quite a box of pieces behind these alterations too. Some great ideas there. Next challenge for her is to build her own modular from scratch.
  13. Very clever. I had used them as roof trusses in a modular arcade, but this beats that hands down.
  14. I agree. The PR is a really good build and final product. Don't write off PC either. Some don't like it, but for what it is, I think it's pretty good. Great for Modding too.
  15. The picture looks like a photo of a screen. Maybe the website and catalogue production guys had a visitor with a handy phone? Anyway, looks like they've kept the original feel and look. Here's hoping the inside remains as detailed.
  16. A lovely build, and nice to see a recognisable car rather than the generic style of the City range. I wonder if there is a way of getting to doors to open the right way? On the real MG TC, they hinge at the rear.
  17. Since there are lots of issues with incorrect bricks/missing bricks, I'm going to wait a little while before ordering mine. Let's hope TLG get these issues sorted out by then.
  18. It is addictive this modular building lark. I started with the DO, quickly followed by PC, and just joined by PR. Now on the look out for BB. I was hoping for a PS too, but now retired there's next to no chance living where I do, to get one. As for the earlier models, there's quite a discussion elsewhere in this forum, that the earlier models are bigger and the two halves of the collection seem disjointed to a degree. Looking at a couple of images I have to agree, so having just newer ones is fine for me. I'd say buy what you like the look of. Who's to say who is right or wrong.
  19. Hi all, I realise I might get a bit of derision for this, but have any of us had a go at building a really aesthetically pleasing apple watch stand from creator style pieces? I've done a fair bit of googling (Other search engines are available) but have found very little. I am in the middle of using LDD to try to design a lego stand, just with the charge cable as the non Lego piece. I'm sure there's plenty of AFOLs out there who share the two passions of tech, and lego. I can't be the only one? Can I?
  20. Interesting. I'm not in possession of assembly square as yet, but my recent Parisian Restaurant had 1 1x1 and 1 1x2 plates missing in the sage green. Perhaps there is a wider issue, beyond this line?
  21. Glad you liked the Palace Cinema, although it does feel empty inside when compared to the detectives office, or Parisian restaurant where you have milk cartons in fridges which you can't actually see most of the time. I think that's what they're referring to. Pick one of these up, and I'll think you will agree. Having got these three, I'm looking forward to many more, when funds allow. I'm hopeful of some form of hotel complete with interesting scenarios in some of the rooms in the near future. I'm trying to design and build one without resorting to brick linking my savings away.
  22. This is so reminiscent of the Swiss chalets I see dotted all over where I live. Really cool idea. The roof is pretty good, but I do agree with LegoSjaak, that snow rails would have been a nice touch, as would a grey brick chimney running through the centre of the house. I just wish I had the brick count to have a go at this sort of think myself. Keep up the great work.
  23. That is massive. Very cool, and some really interesting details. Would love to see more images showing some of the detailing, and the upper most floors. Much kudos for the scale too.
  24. Some great MOCMODS there. I just wish I had the space and the budget to do something half as good. Love the "El". Makes up for no recent city monorail.
  25. Not a bad concept here, and the cab looks well designed and built. From what we can see, but it might be better to have built guides to assist the mid and rear section lowering on the non hinged ends, and also use smaller wheels for the trailer which then sit beneath the loading area. This would give you more space for better angles on some of those cylinders.
