The same argument could be made for the Ghostbusters HQ, a truck ton of big bricks and yet the value is much better than the Death Star.

Hopefully not a lazy remake or something new that doesn't sucks. Just don't go full 2016 Lego.

Took a closer look at the back of the box, really sucks Motti and Tagge are not present in this set. Instead we have a stormtrooper officer ( all black uniform ) and a 2 second extra character passing in front of the elevator ( light grey uniform with black cap, with the exact same face as the 2014 star destroyer officer's face ).

Why is it viable for Megablocks to print all their pieces, but isn't for Lego?

Of course they are toys, it don't mind buying play sets either as long as they look nice and have interesting figs. But there are several offenders tis year that IMO did nothing to any type of fans. Take Takodana for example; the play features are terrible, looks average, nice figs and has an extremly bad value for what you get at full retail price. I get that the Death Star is a playset and I'm completly fine with this, what I'm not okay with is not even trying to improve the set and taging an additionnal 100$, for inflation and updated mini figs.

Indeed, although it seems to be hit or miss with the community. I really like those sets.

Nice chin straps on those Imperial navy troopers! Yeah, probably gonna bricklink some of those figs, especially if any of the officers turn out to be good.

The most fun to be had with this for me is going to find the additionall 200 pieces. Cheese slopes here I come! Also very hyped about the upcoming embarrasing Lego designer video.

Well the little hope I had for this just vanished. And to be crystal clear I wouldn't have minded an updated version of the original, I even like the concept, but updated as an improved model, not same same thing with updated mini figs for 100$ more. This really looks like a 2008 set, the edges are anything but smooth... Jesus Christ who the hell was in charge of updating this?

I really liked season 2 too, and kind of hated season 1. Season 2 started and finished on a bang. Some of the in between episodes are average but I don't really mind. One of the main thing that pisses me off in the show is the Imperial incompetence, nothing really feels at stakes most of the time as stormtroopers drop like flies and the officers being terrible at their jobs, except when facing vader. Season 3 looks really promising though! I hope Thrawn will become an established character and not just a main villain to show off for just a season.

It is a scary tought indeed, but I don't imagine he would go in lenght about all those small details just for trolling us. Well, at least those little cheese wedges won't feel so alone anymore.

Gonna be VERY interested in that designer video explainning the new model, as if Hoth wasn't already awkward. Thanks CM4 for that painfull job, photoshopping this must have taken longer than updating the actual model. And I'm all for makeovers when needed, but this is not a new paint coat of the actual model, mini fig wise it is, but certainly not of the new model by the looks of it.

Sure gonna be interesting when Jang's gonna compare them both. Horrible investment indeed.

UCS wasn't marketed for kids save for the last few years too. I accept that Lego can make hybrids, like ewok village and the sand crawler, both are mighty impressive on display and can be played it. But then you have insult on hoth, which looks like crap and don't even work as a playset ( yay let's defend the base from those 2 guys with a speeder, too bad the AT-AT is discontinued kids! ) The Deathstar was sold for a very long time and sold very well, so it's hard to fault Lego, but that HD remake appears lazy and too easy. Still want a solid look at it before passing any final judgement if I'll get it or not though. If not I'll get the RO wave, if of course the pricing doesn't increase before launch. Out of curiosity, anyone here even liked the previous Death Star set?

I think the employee mentionned was a woman working for Lego at the SDCC. But yeah, take that with a grain of salt.

Well, it's 200 more pieces and they could be using bigger pieces. If I remeber well someone on the boards once mentionned an employee saying it was bigger than the previous version.

At this point I just want it to be revealed, crappy or not, to get done with it. And yeah from the looks of it, it looks like a quick cash in remake of a previous model. Brace yourselves fellow canadians for the CAN pricing of that thing "shudders". Also the article mentions 500 euros, not US. Expect it to be maximum 450 US$ and as low as 400.

Wasn't Krennic's shuttle 110 euros? It would be around 90 US then, according to price vortex. If not I'm sitting this one out and waitting for deals, no way I pay for what would translate to 150 CAN$ ( before taxes ) for barely 900 bricks.

Purely looking at data, It was wildly reported that Sony deleted the general negative comments towards the movie trailer and leaving the awefull comments about women, that allowed them an angle to market their awefull movie, the ex: I you think this movie is not funny your are a sexist pig. Some people over at youtube analysed the trailer's comments and about 99,92% of the people that saw the trailer did not leave a nasty anti women comment on the video. That about over blowing the issue, congratulations Sony. People should be more pissed at Bill Murray for not wanting to play in Ghostbusters 3 YEARS ago which would probably prevented this movie from ever seeing the light of day.

I'm all for location based sets but Takodana was horrible ( save for the mini-figs ), and the nima outpost was so small because of the pieces the luggabeast took over the set. Starwars as a theme has a freacking hard time with location based sets, and I would be pleasantly surprised if any of the three sets ( if they are location based of course ) can break that trend. Based on what SvL said, the pricing will be 40, 60 and 70 respectivly for the three RO sets ( don't know of euros or us dollar ), so nothing too "big".
