What was the last movie you watched?
RetroInferno replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
From what I understand when Empire was shot a second trilogy would already have been in the works: the main villain of Jedi would have been Boba Fett, and the second trilogy about the Emperor and Vader. The crew of Jedi HATED the ewoks idea, that was George pushing for it. Honestly I don't like ewoks, but they kind of work as long as you see them like they really are; very strong people eating evil bears. My buff is with the AT-ST guys, first guy gets shot out of his cockpit, another one gets hijacked by Chewie which pretty much sealed the deal right there and the others fell into obvious traps. -
Ideally the poll would target the whole eurobricks community, not set in a specific sub-forum with two simple questions. A. What were your initial impressions of Nexo Knight back at it's beginning? Answers varying from Most impressed to Sorely dissapointed. B. What are your feelings towards Nexo Knight after it's first completed year? Answers varying from Most impressed to Sorely dissapointed. Personally I think we would have a good gap from A to B, the theme grew old extremly fast for some people initially liking the idea and color scheme. Others old a bias agaisn't it for replacing Castle, which is also a fair point. Would anything looking somewhat like this be feasible?

There is literally a mountain of stuff people are going crazy over the ending of that movie. And truth is we just can't tell, and Carpenter wanted it that way. -

Yeah, there are some elements that really pisses me off in the movie too, I think you named all of them except for Boba Fett's cheap ''death'' scene. Stormtroopers also make their only inconsistent battle on Endor too: every other time they either kick their megablocks are supposed to let them escape ( Death Star ) or lead them somewhere ( Bespin ). Hopefully the empire will feel bad megablocks once again in Rogue One or I'm gonna be mighty pissed. I watched The Thing around 10 times, what did you noticed about the ending? -

I watched Empire Strikes Back and It Follows, a very disburting true horror movie ( no jump scare or gore, pure athmosphere and creepyness ). -
Well it was featured as a theme in the Lego movie, and there was no Amerindian slaughter there, so it's possible for it to be done with good taste.

Shipping prices on Bricklink
RetroInferno replied to harrypotterstarwarsfan's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The cheapest I had to pay shipping wise in the US was from a seller on the american west coast ( I'm canada east coast ) for some sticker sheets ( 2.60$ US). Otherwise I've found a fellow canadian seller that lives next province for bigger orders: I ordered 3 sealed sets ( 2 small one medium sized ) for 11$ US with tracking. ( which is very reasonnable ) Looks like USPS has their customers us by the balls... -
Thanks! I thought something went wrong with some of the data sent, Shop@home was lagging like hell on the 30th.

I passed 3 orders in from the 30th of september to 2 october, All of these have been paid, shipped and are 1 day from destination, so i decided to check my Visa account..... and surprise surprise. One of these order (worth 400$) went straight back in to my visa account after being paid? I called customer service and the guy was like :O , notified the accounting departement and basically told me it's because I probably wasn't viewing the October visa report ( which I was ). I told him I would call back if that's wasn't the case soon. (If not thanks for the free Rogue One wave Lego!) Has this ever happenned to anyone? Never had this kind of problem with the old website.

LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors
RetroInferno replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Side arms prints for these guys would be really nice, almost mandatory even. Although the bunker is a prelim we clearly are going to get 2 variants, which is good. Here we can see two variants, one with Kama and two regular ones. -
I grew up with the 1999 Starwars line up and bought stuff up to 2005. I started back in early 2015 and had the chance ( very lucky ) to grab most of 2014 wave, which I consider one of the best year with 2013. Still I missed a lot of cool sets, especially Jabba related, but that time period was also filled with Clone Wars stuff and I really hate the mini-fig style of that period. I've been a pretty heavy gamer in the dark age period but I've let that go now ( too much time consuming and games keep letting me down ) so I guess I came back to my first love hahaha.

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
RetroInferno replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Jang released the full mini-figs lineup for Rogue One and despite getting 4 imperial sets, the overwhelming majority of figs are rebels! It's really weird to see them side by side, and he also pointed out the lack of storm troopers was embarassing. -
LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors
RetroInferno replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Is it me or the second figure in the Y-Wing could very well be Saw Guerrera and not the rumored second Rebel pilot? The prelim shows a dark tone face, grey hair..... anyone? -
We are definitly getting an AT-ACT before an AT-AT ( we had one in 2014, it's a bit too soon ).
-
Wasn't Angry Birds on it's way out too? I don't think any sets are planned for 2017, could be a sign ( hopefully ). There's also Jurrasic world and scooby-doo that don't get anything in 2017 if that counts. Concerning Nexo Knights sales in Lego's latest financial report they stated the theme had an okay start in german, and used ''a good start'' in english, was something lost in translation I don't know. They clearly stated that both Starwars and Ninja are their top sellers though. I think the whole apathy towards the theme is that Lego replaced something people liked a lot with something totally out of tone with it's predecessor.

Force Friday (30th September) promotions
RetroInferno replied to Richpepperell's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The promo was a mitigated disaster: Here's what went right: -Shop@home was available at midnight. Here's what went wrong: -Shop@home is a laggy mess, amplified by the number of users clogging the system. Orders seemed stuck at processing. -Rogue One sets were available 9 hours plus from the time the promo was put in effect. -By the time RO sets were there Revan was gone. -
Themes Lego has currently or ever? Lego indeed has a lot of IPs, and are impressive indeed but the quality of them... well miss and hits. I think Lego's latest pirate theme was servicable, the figs were very nice and most of the sets featured nice play value but nothing really spectacular the way 6276 is or the Admiral's flagship. In many ways much better than Castle 2013 ( shudders ). Many themes are also on their way out, hopefully something good will rise from their ashes ( trigger alert warning, can Nexo knight be vaporized into oblivion, please ? )

Return of the Jedi has the whole Jabba's palace and Luke + Vader + Emperor confrontation which are awesome. The battle over the Death Star 2 is also very nice. My least favorite of the trilogy but I enjoy it very much. The only thing I really like about Revenge of the Sith is Ian McDarmid and Ewan McGregor's acting.
