LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors
RetroInferno replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I don't think lego omitted the printing and pauldron for cost reasons: some BP came with cloth pieces in the past, it's for vareity's sake. -
I liked the Dark Trooper reference from the last episode: those droid and clanking sounds came straight from Dark Forces I believe. I really don't like Hondo, how much can they squeeze this character yet? It's like I can already know what he's gonna say each freacking time :( A better episode than the last one though.

Ohh Snap :O I didn't realized that. The thing that interestst me most is the small terrain part, I'll probably scatter them around the Battle of Scariff see if they match together. -

I went on Brickset where they've got images in a clear white background. And for one of the fig, the black soldier, you could swap out his legs for the guy wearing the brown ones, and he would be the same as the one from the AT-ST. -

Took another peek at the Rebel trooper pack now that we a cleaner picture, and apparantly we don't get a single rebel trooper repeat from the fall wave. - Three brand new torso pieces. ( no recolor at all ) - A new headprint ( black bearded guy ), and another uncommon one ( ginger bearded guy, I think from Assault on Hoth ). The two other heads are the same used in the AT-ST and U-Wing sets. - Two recolor pair of legs ( 2 figs have a dark bley version of the U-Wing and Tie Striker models ) and the other a recolor of Pao's legs in beige and dark bley. The last pair of legs is a copy form the AT-ST rebel. The only dissapointing thing here are the helmets, no new recolor of the new molds and they are still using those ugly white over sized goggles. Still, very impressive amount of new stuff and not a lot of repeats! I think I'll go as far as buying two of them and mix and match the parts of the second one for variety. -
Anyone wishing for an OT X-wing, even though 2 TFA X-wings are currently on the market? I honestly don't like the TFA models, and I really don,t like the color scheme of both models. Include Garven Dreis, Biggs and Wedge = Profit.

For the U.S region go over wallmart, they've got the best deals. Wallmart canada barely has anything. Amazon.com also has AWESOME deals in the U.S, pretty sucky for Canada though. :(
-
They started showing up, some pretty good deals here and there! Nothing interests me for the moment, maybe they'll continue updating later. TOYS R US CANADA: has both the Sandcrawler and Ewok village approx 100$ off! If you ever wished to get those sets now is the time. Can't complain we got the short end of the stick, happy for you guys in europe for those sweet deals for once.
-
Toys r US does a 40% on some sets, 20% on City and angry birds. Bionicles leftovers are also 40% off. Also if you spend more than a 100 bucks they give you a 15$ gift card. A LOT of minecraft sets on sale too, I wonder why... :) I also searched wide and far for some cheap starwars and it aint happening this year.
-
Gonna camp the website until midnight and I'll give a quick update. Hothbricks stated that the UCS TIE and at least an architecture set would get a discount, let's see what those are. Visited the french shop@home and they have a 20% off selection plus double VIP event, namely the UCS TIE and CTB. Update: Australia gets jack, mostly minecraft sets. Update 2: US-CAN also gets jack, except if you like key chains, the on-sale selection is awefull!

Shuttle Tydirium, if anything screams Starwars the most in that list it's that ship. -
Well to be fair they did released the Tie Advanced prototype at a very reasonable price... and I did get the Striker with double VIP, I honestly feel like it's a better value than the TFA Tie ( I did not buy it ) but it's still really expensive.

So far his observations rely on ''What does it takes for the rebel leadership to show up?''. He's not present in the OT trilogy, his absence has to be explained somehow, so he either failed his mission and died, or became too dangerous to his superiors because of his abilities and sent in the outer rim with an expeditionnary corps. Either way they still need to establish his character solidly.
-
Any reasonably priced TIE variants: the last interceptor and bomber were released ages ago, the the last mini-fig scaled OT TIE looks dated. These sets would sell like HOTCAKES, yet Lego limits themselves and prices them horribly. Add in an obscure character to each variants to sway mini-fig collectors. A battlepack with rebel soldiers from the Tantive IV. A freacking barbage set as long as Saw Guerrera and Galen Erso are present.

Wow, what an awesome detail! We only need Pelaon now!
-
Well to create an emotionnal impact they'd have to kill a character we care about. As Forresto mentionned Sato is pretty much dead at this point, and I could not care less if he dies. We have 4 characters we care about in the rebellion right now: Kanan, Ashoka? ( If she's alive ), Hera and Zeb. I absolutly hate Sabine and Ezra ( Sabine is probably a cyborg and Ezra would be fine as the annoying angsty teenager space Alladin prick if he wasn't our main protagonist! )

Weird thing is that those two were leaked the same day the y-wing and bunker set have been revealed.... TFA had a winter wave based on the same model as this one, one vehicle and a land based one plus 2 battle packs. The rest was 4 small sets plus 2 BPs. 10 models. This year's: 4 micro fighters, 2 BP, 3 constraction figures, 3 small sets. Bunker Battle + Y-wing. A whopping 14. Pretty sure that there's still an elusive retail exclusive set tucked somewhere is there that has not showed up yet. -

Y-Wing, Battle of Scariff, 3-4 imperial BP's, 1 rebel BP and gonna have to bricklink those rebel pilots later ( or wait for them to appear in a set this summer ) Aren't winter waves supposed to be light on the wallet? :P Anyone can also confirm wheter or not the Skiff and speeder still hapenning for this winter or are those summer sets? -
I just checked the shop@home and there's an add for both Canada and the U,S. We'll know the 25th what kind of deals we are gonna get; I could be swayed getting Takodana and the TFA TIE if they get 25-30% off, those sets are horribly priced in Canada.

Yeah but thing is with Kallus is this, and it's just a theory, that he is a fulcrum agent. I already imagine the episode, big reveal that Kallus has been an inside informant, saves the butt of the Ghost crew and gets executed by Thrawn or whatever, or maybe Thrawn will let him escape because that's the only thing he does apparantly. With all the screen time Zeb got this season I wouldnt be surprised he gets killed protecting Ezra, and the emotionnal shock will be nulled by the fact he's been on the side for ages. I don't even get Thrawn's logic of observing the Ghost crew that much, he's got data of their activities available, he knows they twarted every single freacking attempts at killing them, escapped vader several times, killed the grand inquisitor, killed various other inquisitors and god knows how many Imperial personnel... He even exposes himself too much by this incessant observation or their tactics by giving out his own in the long run. Would any officer skip the chance of destroying the ghost crew after all they've done? "Hey those guys have 2 force users and have been a nightmare for our operations for years, I mean they are the only competent branch of the rebel alliance so far and have been arming them, guess we'll just let them go for the fourth times now!" I'll try recomposing myself but if Thrawn ever lets them go one more FREACKING time willingly, without any consequeneces or loss I'm gonna eat my monitor. Edit: They stated Konstantine is more of a politician with a place of power within the military, he did not acted like a blubering idiot, his only mistake was not cutting comms from the Outrider which gave up that they dropped a mine on the ship and facing the Ghost, a ship that can withstand any kind of firepower ( Imperials should slap Ghost ship models on their star destroyers, this crap can probably tank a deathstar ray ) I'm also tired of hearing the argument that Thrawn plays the long game, his goal his not destroying the Ghost crew but the rebellion. Except what are the rebels good for without the ghost crew? Vader owned their entire fleet, Tie pilots aces have no problem taking out a-wings and their transports. The ghost is always there messing things up, simply the fact that Wedge got to the other side because of them shifted the tide of the civil war.

Let's judge Thrawn when we'll get the high-res images. Right now it's too blurry too judge IMO. -
Last episode was so godamn dumb... It looks like the Ghost can take the firepower of a light frigate + 2 transports at point blank for a good while when previously getting chased by TIEs without much stress. I think the Death Star 2 shields are getting jealous. The definitive highlight was Captain Rex congratulating the Iron Squadron VERY awkwardly, launching his fist into the air a good 5 seconds after they celebrate their victory, a bit like ''Yeah screw these kids, he's no Han S.... I mean Dash Rendar''. It's a kid's show obviously, and a good one, but I just think it's the format I'm having trouble with; with 20 minutes and some scraps you can't get attached to these newly introduced characters, especially since they never appear in any other episodes or serve any further purpose ( remeber that B-wing that could blow up light imperial frigates in a single shot? mmmh? cause the rebels don't ) . Heck, even main characters like Zeb got like what, 60 seconds of appearance in season 3 so far? Thrawn is used as a crutch by the story writters to show how scary the empire can be, only they assume the audience already know the guy, and they barely established the character. He had a single good character establishment episode, Hera's heroes, in other episodes he's barely there, studying the rebels or showcasing his colleagues's incompetence to get through the ranks. I believe in the 'Show, don't tell''' practice and that's sadly most of what they've not been doing. ''Ohhh, you're grand admiral now, how?'', ''He got a lot of collateral victims during his mission on whatever planet''. They did not show any of what he was capable yet, and when you're at episode 7 of your third season it's bad. The season had a pretty good start ( The last battle was incredibly nostalgic towards Clone Wars fans and a fun ride, The Antilles extraction was a superb episode and I already talked about Hera's Heroes ), but Imperial Super Commandos ( Sabine being showcased as some sort of Daughter of the Mandalorian Gods level of skills wrecking 5 grown megablocks mandalorians psychos with the help of an angsty soon to become sith apprentice and an ex mandalorian chieftain who's been rotting in his cell for several years and now this episode where the premise is ''Mmmhh wonder if Sato is gonna show up if any of his family member gets kidnapped, yes he does!, - The End'' I could also rant about Ezra being a piss poor protagonist but that's for another day.

That's what I noticed too, what a shame they used the same helmet ( or maybe someone screwed up, rebel trooper in the u-wing style ). On a side note the build of the Duel of Faith is trash but guys go take a look on bricklink on how freacking much the latest iterations of Qui-Gon and Maul goes for, I'm very glad they are going to be available in a cheap set. Also pretty sure Thrawn's eyes are red, they simply added white for the eye's glint. -

I just checked back the history of microfighters and never once a new mold was used for a mini-fig, and now the U-wing gets one, which may hint at some rebel vehicle for the 2017 summer ( OT X-wing, never 2 without a third lego ) . Luckily microfighters mini-figs are ''cheap'' on bricklink. I'm thrilled for the rest of the winter wave, and especially anxious about the retailer exclusive ( If Galen and Guerrera can be in a set together :O )
