Rogue One movie discussion thread
RetroInferno replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Wasn't Leia's ship docked on Raddus' ship? If so he was destroyed... I really liked Raddus though :) I also like how the movie was really open, we get a lot of inner city shots, markets. We see a truck-ton of aliens, characters and a sense of grandeur, unlike TFA which almost had a claustrophobic athmosphere. Sets wise they have a TRUCK TON of material to work with, plenty of missing characters too ( Galen Erso, Saw Guerrera and his rebel bunch ) -

Did admiral Reddus escaped or was he blasted to bits when Vader's destroyer jumped in? Looks like very few ships managed to escape... -

Am I the only one that finds that Death Troopers deserved more screen time? I'm slightly dissapointed they did not fight that much. On the review side of things, the movie was really great, but also VERY dark. I wouldn't bring my kids see this movie, except if I wanted them to weep the whole final third of the movie. Big Kudos for killing everyone off, I didn't think they would have the balls to do it, even though it was really depressing. Some of the cameos were annoying, especially the Ponda Baba and R-2/3PO scenes. I would also love a "Vader and his rebel friends" corridor style set if you know what I mean. Overall I'm REALLY impressed, some flaws in the first hour duing the build-up but heck the rest of the movie was insane. -

Your first set costing over $100
RetroInferno replied to BubbaFit45531's topic in General LEGO Discussion
4483 AT-AT for my birthday when I was around 10? I fondly remeber my dad coming back from shopping with an almost trans clear toys r us bag with the monster in it: it did spoil the surprise but I was very happy nontheless. When I got back from the dark age I think it was the 2014 Star Destroyer, it was gonna be retired soon and no way in hell I was going to skip this dude. They are now displayed next to each other in one of my curios :) -
LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors

The assumed source for these leaks is very reliable; if he mentionned IG-88 and Dengar with two more blanks (place holder for non already existing mini-figs) I would bet on the executor Bounty Hunters. Boba fett will surely be casted aside, he's already in 3 other sets right now ( skiff, freezing chamber and Slave 1 ). Also the previous leak mentionned that one of the battlepack was gonna be EP VII based and the other from the OT trilogy, not that many bounty hunters in the OT aside from those. About the scepticism on 4 named characters in a cheap set: Duel on Naboo has 3 named Jedis included for 25$! So guys the most hyped set of 2017 costs 13$!? :D -

If they manage to include 4 bounty hunters from ESB without Boba Fett this may be the best ''cheap'' starwars set of all time. Hopefully an Bossk, IG-88, Zuckuss and 4-LOM. -
Nintendo's gotta have to pull one heck of a add campaign to sell this. Do I even need to mention third party? They lost most of the support from the people that bought a Wii-U, with only a handfull of good games ( Smash, Mario Kart, Splatoon, WindWaker and Bayonetta 2 and a few more ) that don't really entice buying a console to play them. I had fun with my Wii-U, yes, but what a let-down... Get great third party support, make an awesome add campaign = great sales.

Consider me as someone that don't like Nexo Knights much, but the Fortrex doesn't deserve worst big set, you actually get a fun build with a lot of stuff at a decent price, something I would have probably liked as a kid. Agreed that SW 2016 was CRAP, but at least Rogue One was solid. And yeah that winter train was a major let-down, although wheter or not it's worse than the Death Star or Hoth is subjective.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

Why not create 2 threads? One for the news and the other for discussing it? How about Lego Starswars 2017 news, and another one for 2017 discussion? Threads like those are shut down every month because I assume mods are getting complaints from people that don't want to read and search through people's reaction, which is fair, then shut the discussion and time off people, which doesn't solve much. If you want a news thread, pin one down, restrict post access to mods that receive the information to post it and get done with it. -
The fulcrum reveal was hilarious, who would have tought it would be Kallus? Seriously.... But we lost the red shirt manufacturing guy that was shown for 30 seconds at the beginning of the show! A couple issues with Thrawn here too, especially in the end; Ezra and Kanan are escaping, officer says they have two AT-AT stationned and ask if they need reinforcements. Thrawn replies saying: ''No, let them play their game'' , then presses both AT-AT to destroy the AT-DP. So the rebels managed to escape because Thrawn refused to get reinforcement? ( Although to be fair they would have stationned a freacking regiment it wouldn't matter ). I think I grasped the grip I have with the show, nothing is at stake. Never once do you feel the Ghost crew is in any danger, they always smile, crack jokes, never get injured or get captured ( for more than an hour ). They throw in a few candy at the older fans by throwing some old and obscure references ( TIE defenders, Dark troopers, the 181st and whatnot ). Really getting tired of Rebels.

Okay, so they are calling Thrawn simply Admiral Thrawn on the Lego@shop, call me a conspiracy theorist if you want but I'm 100% sure they intentionally messed up his rank, and that they will release Thrawn yet again in antoher set with his Grand Admiral title and proper insigna code in a crazy expensive set. because Rebels doesn't sell well enough. -
- Best dimension sets: Anything ghostbusters, everything was exclusive in these packs and they all look great! I'm gonna do a short Star Wars list, as it's my main collection focus, and it's going to be an objective one. -Best small set: Imperial Assault Hover tank. Well priced, very good looking and functionnal, wide variety of weapons and mini-figs and Donnie Yen in Lego! -Best medium set: AT-ST: with some very frontal modification this model is really good looking and accurate. The low points here goes to the mini-figs who are somewhat limited. -Best Big set: Krennic's Imperial Shuttle, impressive model once you get it displayed with the wings deployed, well priced and very nice figs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -Worst small set: Homing spider droid, everything is repeat here, from build to mini-figs. At least the priced is decent. -Worst medium set: Rebel Combat Frigate: Horribly priced for what you actually get: this thing costs 149,99 CAN and basically is an Ashoka battle pack. Colors are off, you get 3 mini-figs repeat out of 5. -Worst big set: Assault on Hoth, abyssmal price per parts, mini-figs and build quality. Slap the UCS logo on that poor thing. Also want to add the biggest LETDOWN of the year: 75159 Death Star, thanks to just2good for the image that sums up this set pretty good.

The a-wing pilot doesn't seem to be green leader, he looks like the a-wing pilot that got into the Death Star, Jake Farell. -

That A-wing is incredible, both mini-fig and build wise! The speeder is a 100% skip for owners of the Cantina and Skyhopper. A shame... The desert skiff is okay I guess? Han's hair piece and new weequay is nice... and did Lego messed up Thrawn ranking insigna??? A 5 seconds google search shows absolutly zero instances of Thrawn sporting that rank insigna :( Also that Boba is a new fig: new hands color, new cape piece, new belt print, what appears to be additionnal dirt on the chest armor ( sarlacc goo maybe? ), beige colored pouches on the legs. And foolish me thought it was gonna be a cheap wave... -

It's too low res to judge Thrawn eyes color on this, and if Sir Gareth's profile pic is accurate he definitly has red eyes. -
Why don't battle packs come with film-accurate weapons?
RetroInferno replied to ProvenceTristram's topic in LEGO Star Wars
A driving force? Of course not. But they don't want so lose AFOL that's for sure; Architecture, Most UCS sets, large Technic sets and Ideas are very much aimed at a mature audience. We are not their main target audience but for a kid's toys we sure get a lot of attention, unlike other companies in the domain. -
Review | LEGO 75171 Star Wars ● Battle on Scarif
RetroInferno replied to Brick Ministry's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Honestly that Jyn Erso hair piece is very bad, looks nothing like the character as portrayed. Trust me when I say this mini-fig is gonna keep his helmet for a while :) ( Nice to get another ground support crewman though ) -

[VIDEO REVIEW] Star Wars 75172 Y-Wing Starfighter
RetroInferno replied to Brick Ministry's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Russia tends to get sets for sale insanely early. Nice showcase, Brick ministry, it's shot very well, although you could leave your opinion at the end of the video. -
Ezra likes Hando because he's an unlikable twat, the way Ezra and Zeb acted towards each other after 2 full seasons.... Can he die horribly yet?

Why don't battle packs come with film-accurate weapons?
RetroInferno replied to ProvenceTristram's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I wouldn't have a problem with it if the after market price for these things wasn't so expensive: you either pay 0.50 cents each for a black medium blaster on bricklink, or 1$ each gun with Brickarms ( I heard they have an amazing quality but never purchased from them, but some purists don't like using thrid party in their display or MOCs ). And I'm not talking about shipping prices. Lego is expensive as it is, and stud shooter, as I imagine, cost a lot more to manufacture than a standard blaster, even though they sell a cent a piece. That's saying a lot of on offer and demand. I would really appreciate if they could include a blaster for each stud shooter in Battle packs. Don't remove them stud shooters, just add an alternative.
