  1. Awesome, thanks. I might do a couple of those once I'm sure the one I gave you fits properly.
  2. Hey, I made the decal for that helmet piece I asked about. I was sure there were more versions of this piece with different decals, but this is the only one I was able to find on BrickLink. I don't really have a way to test it, so you're going to have to let me know how well it fits so I can go back and change it if I need to. Or, if you want, I can send you the original illustrator file and you can make the changes yourself. Also: Is there are better way to represent sparkly metallic paint? I just used the warm gold color from the palate, but it doesn't really look right.
  3. Alright, that kinda sounds what I'm looking for. How do I create a emissive material? I know how to do channels, though it hadn't occurred to me that it'd be useful in this particular circumstance, so thanks for the tip.
  4. @Toltomeja So I'm looking at the readme, and I don't really understand how to install and/or open the tool. Could I get some help?
  5. I've editing in a glow effect in Photoshop up until now, which works alright, but I'm not really satisfied with it. Selecting individual parts with the lasso tool is kind of a pain in the megablocks. I don't actually know anything about POVRay beyond what LDD to POV-Ray Converter lets me do, but I imagine maybe I could do something by mucking about with the "materials". That's a thing, right?
  6. When downloading? I don't think it should matter. You should definitely have LDD closed when installing it, though.
  7. Would it be at all possible to get a version of MINI UPPER P. W/ARM COR.KNOB that's laterally flipped so that the robot arm is on the left rather than the right, or is that against the rules for not being a real part?
  8. Do sets ever get canceled? Maybe it's the LEGO brick equivalent of the character whose only scene got cut from the finished film.
  9. Hey, I think I just found a bug. The new plastic skirt prevents legs from connecting with torsos. Seems to happen no matter which legs you use.
  10. Not gonna lie, those ones kinda freak me out too. The angling on some of Bricklink's photos is pretty good, so it's probably not gonna be as hard as it could've been, but I don't know how hard "gonna be" and "could've been" actually are yet.
  11. I haven't got any at the moment, but I could definitely cook some up if you'd like.
  12. That... actually makes sense. EDIT: A-h'yup, I tried applying a 2x8 decal to a 2x6 tile instead of a the 2x4 I mentioned previously, and it works fine. No squishing. No loss of resolution. Thanks.
  13. Oh, also, can 4740, 17485, 30151a, 2454, and 28631pb01 be made decorable in the next update (I literally only just realized that this was something I could ask for)?
  14. Hey, how come the decals for the Tile 2x6 in the new pack have to be 2x4? I tried using a decal with the actual dimensions of the surface, but it got squished down to only take up two thirds of the surface. It's really weird, and you lose a lot of resolution stretching a 2x4 decal to fill a 2x6 space. The decals for the 2x3 also have to be 2x4 for some reason, which is also really weird, but at least you're not losing any resolution so it's not really a problem.
  15. Oh sweet, I was looking forward to some of these (in addition to the ones I posted)
  16. Huh... not even the ushanka? I assumed that Bricklink having access to a 3D model and you having access to a 3D model would be... well, I guess I assumed you were getting them from the same place, but I really have no idea.
  17. Alright, now that I've got everything working and feel pretty confident in my ability to install future iterations of the parts pack, I'd like to request a few parts Hips and Long Legs Torso (Woody) / Arms LONG Minifigure, Headgear Helmet Neck Guard with Nose and Cheek Guard Minifigure, Headgear Ushanka Hat Minifigure Skirt Plastic Straight, Short Minifigure, Head, Modified Chipmunk Minifigure, Weapon Gun, Pistol Automatic Short Barrel (Batman) LegoMinifigure, Headgear Hood Basic Minifigure, Weapon Macuahuitl, Club Torso (Rio Durant) / Double Arms
  18. Perfect. I was hoping it'd be something simple like that, but you never can be to careful.
  19. Ah, I have been a fool. The reasons the parts didn't show up is because the "Assemblies", "Decorations", "Primiitves" folders, etc. copied to C:\Users\[MY NAME]\AppData\Roaming\LEGO Company\LEGO Digital Designer\db\Primitives\db rather than C:\Users\[MY NAME]\AppData\Roaming\LEGO Company\LEGO Digital Designer\db. I moved them to the correct location and now everything seems to be working. I've got a bunch of custom decals, so I'm probably going to have to merge the DecorationMapping.xml files manually. Any recommendations for how to handle this? I don't want to lose any of my custom decorations, but I also don't want to accidentally create any duplicate entries.
  20. The final confrontation in the mission "Jack of the Lantern" from the video game Secret World Legends's Blue Mountain setting, re-imagined as a (virtual) LEGO set, featuring custom decals for Jack the Lad, the Scarecrows, and my Illuminati player character the Blue Bee. Not strictly speaking sci-fi, but there's no, say, Horror, Urban Fantasy, or Video Games theme, and Sci-Fi fit better than any of the other options. No other camera angles on this one. I don't want anyone to see that I couldn't be bothered to build the rest of the house.
  21. Yeah. Though on further examination some new bricks have appeared, mostly in the first handful of categories, but only a very small minority of the ones listed on your thread.
