  1. Doesn't the new 911 have a 7 speed...? This one looks a little long to be that though... I've been hearing rumors from Chevy of a 7 Speed coming to the Corvette, but that hasn't happened yet... I think Mercedes has a 7 Speed transmission, but I don't think it is a Manual... BMW may also make a 7 speed, but that may be paddle shifting though...
  2. That Crawler is Really Nice...
  3. Lots of really really cool stuff that you guys have done! I had a feeling some neat things would come out of this thread!
  4. I completely forget about this thread... This all started at the Lugnut forum about being accused that the 8653 prelim pics were fake and that it was actually a bad joke and that I was behind it... So after a few e-mails questioning my intentions, I tried to build something better to prove that the 8653 wasn't something that I had done and when looking back on this, I would say that I failed miserably... In fact I don't think that I actually learned how to somewhat build until 4 or 5 years after I built this Enzo inspired model... I also look back on this this creation and realize what a poor job that I did on it...
  5. Wow!!! Is that ever Amazing!!! I am still not sold on that Lego CUUSOO thing... I am having a hard time believing that if a large model did in fact get enough votes that it would ever go into production... I would think that Lego would have to look at it and consider it, and then decide if it followed enough of their guidelines to be made into an actual set...
  6. This is a really great idea... Nathanael and I had tossed ideas back and forth about this before he designed his Concept Car... I think all of the roots go back to the 8448 Street Sensation's Modular Design... I always said that it would be an awesome idea if Lego made like 3 or 4 different styles of suspension and other interchangeable unique modules that allowed people to create their very own personal Supercar... So your plans here are a step in the right direction... I personally prefer to use the Steering Hubs now after going through the dozens of different designs that I have over the years... I have a hard enough time keeping the weight/part count down now, so I don't want to have to add any extra unneeded weight... I also don't like the wobbling in and out effect from the drive axle that I have experienced when using universal joints for the front suspension's Drive/Steering instead of CV joints... It is very minimal, but does exist... This same motion does in fact exist with real cars with either front wheel or all wheel drive, but this action takes place further back from pivot point towards the differential and doesn't effect the actual drive axle that comes out from the steering hub...
  7. Hopefully it will be released by the Brick Magic show the weekend of May 19th and 20th... I would love to display it for you at my table...
  8. I'll be the first to admit that I am not into reading books at all, but this will 100% be something that I'll spend time reading when it is released...
  9. LOL.. I actually forgot about doing that... I still have that center channel speaker too.... It's just in a different place now underneath a more "Modernized" television...
  10. Anyone ever use any Technic oriented parts for fixing broken things around the home or auto..? A few years ago I completely broke off the flimsy hinge in my Camaro's center console and rebuilt a really strong hinge with Technic parts... I am curious to see if anyone else has ever used Lego to fix their problems...
  11. Ok.. The person that is selling/sold this model actually messaged me through Ebay few months ago about selling his model as a kit and I told them that it was NOT a good idea and that they should e-mail Nathanael and ask for his permission, which I found out from him today that they did not and he knew nothing about it... Here is the bottom line: There is nothing that can be done about it, but it is in fact morally wrong... Otherwise there would be 20 people on Ebay doing the same thing... But most people have morals... Regardless of what some people may think, what is being profited here are Nathanael's talents, not the fact that someone gathered up the parts and built it(very improperly I might add) Someone said in another thread here about selling others work for profit "Well this is no different than someone buying a Lego set and building it and reselling it" Actually it is different because if you buy for example the 8110 Unimog for $200 USD and build it and then sell the built model on Ebay and get $150 USD, you know damn well that you are not going into that auction expecting to make a profit... Not the case here at all... The real profit that was made here in this case is within the build of the model which is highly unique and that uniqueness in turn is what generated the profit... This is a sad sad world that we live in...
  12. If 2 separate motors are used for both the front and rear steering, I think it will be far too easy for it to fall out of synchronization if one motor lags behind the other one where as 2 separate drive motors wouldn't really matter.
  13. LOL... I don't know, but my dog is already nervous enough as it is... She is afraid of plastic soda bottles, leaves, and magazines... One motor in the center must control the steering for both the front and rear wheels in order to avoid misalignment between 2 separate motors... I think you are right...
  14. I just showed the video to my wife who just arrived home from work and she is very excited to getting this set... I am also looking forward to chasing our Pug dog around the house with it...
  15. From the video, this moves and steers much better than I expected(my expectations based off of the current power functions motors performance).... I am sure that I may be alone here(or maybe not) but I absolutely hate stickers... Especially when they are used to define one color running into another color...
  16. That looks like the one(in yellow) that showed up in the prototype pictures of the unimog...
  17. Agree.. I would have rather seen the entire vehicle with the Orange/Black Combo..
  18. From watching the short video of the 9398, it certainly moves and controls much better than I expected, but then again my expectations were based on what the current power functions motors could do... I think that this would have looked much cleaner if it just used the Halloween Black/Orange Combo throughout the entire vehicle, the white rear end just looks out of place...I also hate stickers... Still looks a great set and will also be fun to chase the dog around with...
  19. I wonder if the body will be able to easily be removed as one unit by removing a few pins...? Kind of like an RC car...? I suppose that it would have to be like this in order to access the battery box...?
  20. Wow... Thanks for the review...! I certainly never expected anyone to review anything that I ever built... Your model looks very cool with the colors and everything looks correct.. Good Job... That is the beauty of having instructions where as everyone can create something similar, and yet still alter it to their own desires and incorporate their own ideas... I think I like the Black spoiler on the Red car better than the Red one...
  21. I've experimented with those 2 parts for making door opening mechanisms... In the 41666, you can connect another bevel gear to one end and you can make the entire thing move back and forth by turning that gear... The 41667 is very similar to the gear that is used in some automobile's power window regulator... I think these 2 parts have some untapped possibilities...
  22. That picture worked... I got you added... Timr, I got you too... I am still learning this HTML stuff, it takes me awhile sometimes...
  23. The new Instruction and part files are up for everyone who has previously downloaded them... Just use the same information as before to access them and replace your old ones... This should be the final update for them...
  24. I hope so.. I wish they would make a smaller battery box(maybe the size of a 9V battery)... I might consider motorizing something...
  25. It seemed a little silly at first, but those were some interesting pictures once he was in the stratosphere... Wonder if they glued him down...
