    Lego logos

Very interesting Thanks for sharing! Clever of LEGO, and now finally that mystery will not bother me anymore. I find real life companies that have been used in LEGO sets interesting, LEGO must have asked permission and was nice promotions for companies to have been featured. Some notable ones I like have been Shell, McDonald's and Coca-Cola
  2. Impulse idea: Vending Machine $3.49 Includes vending machine (like 4456), soda bottles and fig Some really good ideas, I like the car dealer and supermarket alot Civilian is the way to go, most of them have also never been done
  3. Hard choice, 95% of the trains LEGO has done have been pretty sweet One of my favorites is 4558- the legendary Metroliner Great design and details, 11 minifigs, decent station Also is this based on power systems? Such as 12V, 9V and so on? Then I could pick the best from each Category Another personal favorite and my first train 4560- Railway Express The Emerald Night is perhaps the most detailed and well designed train set yet
  4. Sorry about that So in this topic are trains considered under the City theme? If that is a yes, then a monorail is my #1
  5. While browsing BrickLink I cam across this set Even more interesting is that none are for sale currently Curious on the subject of LEGO City Banks I did a search and 1490 (pictured above) and 6566 (pictured below) have been the only true City/Town Banks ever done Thus my next idea is LEGO City Bank: $49.99 - Included is well built Bank - inside features include safe and administrative offices and public area - additionally there is an armored van/truck - Minifigs include 2 new banker figs, 1 police armored van driver and 2 civilian figs - some possible accessories are lots of green money tiles and gold coins I think one Bank set should cover that area, also it gives something for LEGO crooks to actually rob
  6. Since this is about motorizing your LEGO train I will not comment on models that change over the years Some are better than others 9V- Pros: - Has alot of power and no restraints - No batteries no recharge needed - easy to make/modify trains run on it, just add the 9v motor Cons- - Track needs to have metal rails, more expensive switcher rails - Long layouts require electricity to reach to all areas - motors burnout if used frequently RC Pros: - No cords needed to operate - Track is cheaper and larger layouts possible since no electricity needed - can run on 9v track independently Cons- - 9 batteries needed to operate, if using rechargeable not so bad - Although the motor is the same size as 9v you still need a place to house batteries, making past trains need of modification to house the power - Motor is weaker - only 3 channels, means only 3 trains can run at same time PF: Pros: - more powerful motor than RC - RC has more channels - runs on any type of track - rechargeable battery pack Cons: - Too much equipment needed - initial cost to power each train is about $150 usd - Train has to be built around PF in order to work - equipment takes up a lot of space on train, interior details removed There really is no perfect train developed yet, but 9v was pretty good RC would be the best if it had a stronger motor and you are using rechargeable batteries Also good because you can add onto your 9v layout and operate independently PF is my least favorite of the latter Only use is for the Emerald Night currently
  7. Thanks for reminding me, I wanted to share something with everyone but the pics were too large for the first post Here is the link to the image There is some pretty interesting stuff in the book too, like look at those generic brick aliens If you are lazy click here to see what I mean Still better than the MM ones though (hehe)
  8. Right now I have my bulk LEGO parts sorted by color into large Grey storage containers, that have multiple plastic pull out slots They are very common on Brickshelf if you type in storage I have 2 with large slots (about 9 compartments on each container) And 2 with small slots, I'm not sure how many slots, but it is alot For minifigs and special parts/ accessories I find using a fishing tackle box very handy I also have some sets from my collection on display as well And on the floor I am working on a train layout as I do not have a large enough table or space for it hehe

    Lego logos

Very interesting topic, I thought LEGO was original and created its own fake companies, but it looks like they did have some real life inspiration I was most interested in the post office logos, does anyone have any idea as for this one? Another thing I have noticed in some airport and most train schedules, they always have European towns, even if the sets are sold in the US I most remember this from owning my Railway Express set, what exactly is LEGO trying to say? That train transit is more popular in Europe?
  10. LEGO shop @ Home (LSAH) Is having Free shipping on orders of $75 or more (only in the US and Canada)
  11. I never thought I would say this, but this theme isn't half bad The ships are really nicely designed and look good, the stories are funny and the figs are nice Other than the rather pointless 5980 "Squidmans Pitstop" However the only problem is this theme is a bit racist towards the aliens, because all of the criminals are aliens I think it can be greatly improved if LEGO does some sets with the SP chasing regular minifigs The first space police line was great, they had the blacktron fig as the baddie However I think robots can be used as the bad guy here too, rouge robots and such Next year they should add a SP station or something similar Other than that I'm not really bright on ideas Maybe they can expand to adding Futuristic city sets Like the earth in the background, and can build some sets around that Oh but, Classic Space Forever still
  12. Looks ok to me Basically I agree it is Power Minders but under water based Same flashy vibrant colors and plot, sea creatures might be good though I hope we see a Kraken and maybe another Giant squid Aqua raiders was actually decent and had some cool creatures Also clever use for the diver fig, using the technical parts as an air tank However I still probably won't be getting these
  13. Awesome! Really nice set and a good way to get the mermaid for those who didn't buy the ship Shame it is not available in US Probably the only advent calendar I would have bought too
  14. You are right I don't consider those classic space The way Bricklink has them organized is fine with me and the way I base it (yes there are some robots in there too hehe) True they have an insignia, but the classic space figs have it direct on the torso at the top and no other printings like sp1 and futuron did
  15. Those are perfect Clone Killer! Brilliant job
  16. Great topic! You have made some very good ones, I enjoy all of them I would first like to see for the Trains catergory 1. Metroliner modern release version, similar to the old one, with PF and track and a track side structure 2. Monorail 3. Tram/trolley For City 1. Civilian house sets with minifigs like Cobra mentioned 2. Postal office/ delivery man 3. vacation sets (like camper)
  17. They are ok, main reason is, they are Fire, Police, Hospital and Construction Instead they could have been civilian related like a postal deliveryman a hobo, a person riding a bike or something along those lines Sure they are a cute but I am tired of seeing those 4 categories Good thing they are only promos I hope they at least do something better for the impulse city sets Oh and thanks for sharing these
  18. Helpful topic I would to add this to it For us Americans who are not familiar with the metric system I find inches and such much more familiar and MS word uses that format Here is a simple easy to use converter - Click Here Also using this converter, a minifig torso dimensions is Hight- .51 inches Lenght- .61 inches
  19. I went with 1978-1987 which includes anything that bears the signature Classic Space logo (planet and ship going around) Only true hard core Classic space fans would have said 1978-79, because those sets were very defined, red and white spaceman, blue/grey/trans yellow color scheme, later on they expanded to yellow/blue/black spaceman and wider colors I also don't consider it an era of time back instead an actual theme Basically any set here I consider part of the Classic Space theme -Classic Space Forever
  20. I don't actually own a toaster Instead I have a toaster/conventional oven to toast things in Here is how I rate them 1. Pop Tarts 2. Bagels 3. doesn't matter, rest are meh
  21. No Problem Oddly enough it wasn't too hard to find Try this Let me know if you need more And thx EDIT: also is it possible for you to use a classic red background on the front and back torso decals? Dark red is fine and I will try it too, but I would like to try regular red as-well Thanks
  22. Very nice indeed! Thanks for doing it Its perfect, I wasn't thinking right earlier, the artificial heart does glow blueish Great job EDIT: I would like to please add a request to that, a decal for the back of the torso Thx and let me know if you need a reference picture
  23. LSAH came today, seems they pack PAB orders separately In there was 8402 Sports Car Reviewers Academy, watch out as I plan to visiting you guys very soon
