Thank you! That sounds like it is going to be perhaps the best impulse set yet Now everyone can get a pig without buying the larger Pig Pen. And stock them up The traveler sounds really nice, as for the torso that is fine with me since I don't have that one yet I also really like how LEGO is doing 2 Civilian Impulses

I have seen most of those but not the interior airport photos. The soda machine and check in counter are really nice. I also really like the stewardess figure The airport in general looks ok and I still am not totally liking the plane either. However the picture of the Octan Tanker reminds me of how awesome it is. Terrible shame it would have looked nice with the Service Station. Not available in the USA anymore though I think we need a new gas station

No I will not buy it. Why buy an imitation when you can have the real thing? Licensed themes are already dominate and you might say forced out LEGO's own themes. Here are examples: Indiana Jones - Adventurers Star Wars - Space (not the space I like currently) Toy Story - Western (some elements) Speculation? POTC - Pirates

Yeah! Copmike I like all of them you mentioned but not the idol. I just don't like that part in general Mutt's hair in red Thats cool. Drop me some prices, thank you! Also nice you have a BL store.

This is a cool idea and I would like to collect all 12 but there no stores where I live having that Good thing the only really 2 nice ones are the Small Tractor and maybe the Police ATV. Thanks for sharing this though!

INDEXED Name: Street Sweeper 7242 Theme: City Year: 2005 Pieces 63 Minifigs: 1 Price: $7.99 Resources: Brickset Bricklink Brickshelf Peeron What do you need to keep your roadplates clean in LEGO city? A city sweeper of course! LEGO loves doing these Street Sweepers. However like the camper they only appear so often. The most recent before 2005 was 1995 so about 10 years. Also LEGO sure is original all of the Street Sweepers have had the exact same name However I think the 2005 one bears a stronger resemblance to the one from 1991. What do you think? Section 1: Instructions The instruction booklet cover. Not much change in the City Graphics from current City sets. Random Instruction Page. Here the minifig driver is getting placed in his sweeper. Section 2: Minifigs and Accessories This set comes with one minifigure. He has an orange jacket for bright colors so he is visible in the night and day. He doesn't shave much it seems. No special uniform here, maybe LEGO should have a different one, maybe in different colors? This set has 2 accessories. A broom and a shovel. The broom is used for manual labor sweeping on the sidewalk. The shovel is used to pick up large debris. No other accessories, none that I can think of. However if this set had a park bench, tree and civilian fig littering, that would have added much more playability and details. Here is a picture of the sweeper brushes. These are some cool parts! There made of soft plastic and can easily rotate on the road. Also good for car washes. Section 3: Model Side view of the Street Sweeper. Some details visible here are the hinge part for holding the shovel. There is also a red pressure tank on the rear. The pressure tank must be used to heat up water to clean the road. I really don't know though I am not an expert on street cleaners. Front view of the sweeper. The brushes spin easy enough. There is also a light on the vehicle for night time sweeping. Here is another angle of view. There is a vent on top for ventilation, since no conditioning. The other side view of the sweeper. Not only does this vehicle brush the road but it has some side attachment for large debris. This has a nice shape, for a city cleaner at least. I can't think of any improvements to the overlal model. Section 4: Street Sweeping is a Dirty Job & Wrap Up So you think your City isn't that dirty? You don't need a sweeper? Hah think again! Those recycle trucks aren't so reliable all the time! Here it is polluting the "green" LEGO City. This is where the helpful Street Sweeper is most useful. He can busily follow along and clean up the garbage that is falling off the garbage truck. A Street Sweepers job is never done. He continues to keep LEGO city clean. Review Wrap Up: Playability: 6/10 (sweeping up trash doesn't seem like much fun ) Design: 7/10 ( doesn't look appealing or sleek, solid design for a street sweeper) Price: 4/10 ( ridiculously overpriced at $8, only worth about $5) Parts: 7/10 ( some interesting parts like the brushes) Minifigures: 8/10 ( standard worker fig. Good to have a civilian eating a candy bar would be a nice compliment ) Overall: 7/10 ( Good set and everyone City needs a street cleaner!) LEGO has once again made another Street Sweeper. I am grateful to have one after all it did take 10 years to get another. However it was quite high prices for everything you get. Possible improvements could have been a tree and a civilian fig that is sitting on a bench littering. The actual sweeper is nice and looks like well a sweeper. The model doesn't have any possible improvements, maybe a trans light blue windshield, just because it looks more classic to me.

Now a graph would be very cool! But don't you think I have better things to do than find out how many posts I have made in a certain forum??? (and then graphing them) Some nerd........ Like WhiteFang said, it really depends on what you are most interested in at a certain time.

Thanks! Yes everything you said is true and a zoo is quite simple to do, using exsisiting animals and parts. Also true is that they seem to think Airport and Fire are the only things kids like or rescue type themes. I think they would like a zoo and it would be highly popular! Also it would make a cool sub theme like you mentioned about farm with multiple expansion sets! Oh great ideas!!! All your animals already exists in LEGO form and would just need some color alterations. The zebra idea I especially like as a repainted horse! Clever The African grassland idea is really cool and I like the safari jeep idea. I had forgot LEGO had made a crocodile part when I gave the exhibit ideas, but then remembered it after thinking about the outback theme. Some other animals that could be done but do not exists currently are a Hippopotamus, Giraffe, Gazelle, Lion, Tiger, and Rhinoceros. The single mold animals LEGO has made are really nice and not blocky as you would think such as the Cow, Pig and Taun Taun (SW)

I am also looking for an Airport shuttle (any condition) (parts missing is fine)
-
Isn't Market Street missing?? I voted for Green Grocer because the details are simply amazing Fire Brigade is a close 2nd because it was also really cool and well designed.
-
Yes Press and maybe a newspaper truck or something would be sweet I also like the Outback theme idea something like this set LEGO did do other outback subtheme sets too that were nice but that one is the largest and I think the best. Has the idea of a Zoo been used before? Central Park Zoo: Includes several structures not on one base plate but multipule little ones. (like city corner) Gate/Entrance, food area/picnic, 3 animal exhibits: Elephant, Lion and Crocodile The exhibits could be made like the Pig Pen was, with gate/fence and inside, water plants and printed food dish Figures are Ticket seller, Zoo keeper, Food Seller and 1-2 Civilians (one of them female or little kid)

Suggestion: Could a Mod add a poll to this? Now for the discussion: I would have to say the BNSF for me. It has a much nicer color scheme IMO. It also is a cargo train engine, the Super chief is a passenger train and I do just not like the style of it or the colors. I prefer high speed trains or maglevs in LEGO, and maybe the Metroliner too because the amtrak train engine it is based on is really nice.

I was wondering about this the other day (like most people it seems) Here is what I did to figure it out *math warning* 1. I went to search clicked more options, then clicked even more options 2. Entered my user name, (match exact username) 3. Checked the search only "certain forum/subfourm" box 4. Clicked posts only 5. checked the show results as posts only 6. I Did not enter any text to search for I left it blank 7. I counted the posts it showed per page (25) for me 8. Multiplied the posts per page by how many pages there are but not the last page!!! 9. Go to last page and count them, which was (15) posts in my case 10. Math = 25 (posts per page) x 5 (the first 5 pages) + 15 (posts on the last page) = 140 (Total # of posts made by you in that forum)

1 GREEN Brick separator for me I think a grey one would be nice but yes the orange one is really cool and a special part. I considered buying one when i made an order from Magic Bricks recently however $16 was a bit steep for me

Oh thanks! I was sure there was a Bus made at sometime by LEGO but was too lazy to search for it myself Usually I can just recall sets from memory but not the Bus in this case. Took 30 years for new bus! Compare that with say a fire truck which we get every other year pretty much. Now I can see maybe 5-10 years, 20 is long time but 30 is just crazy.

Great review I bought this set a few days ago. Since then I have had time to gather thoughts and opinions about it. Of course it is simply awesome and defines a perfect City set. This set is 100% civilian based. That is why it is so popular and well liked. We got a Pizza restaurant, a cool bike repair shop, a Bus and Bus stop. I do not recall ever seeing a Bus being made, ever. This bus is simply beautiful ,LEGO could have skimped out and only gave the bus 1 door, but no they gave it 2 doors. It seats 5 plus the driver. Which I think is very good, considering most LEGO cars and vehicles only seat 1. One possible improvement would be a counter or cash register in the Bike/skate shop. Oh and no stickers but instead printed bricks. Everything else is simply amazing A+

I actually *gasp* like short-lived themes!
Piranha replied to Batbrick's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I voted for "No conception of time" I like most themes, as long as the current sets look nice to buy I will buy them. If LEGO were to do something underhanded like stop making City or Trains. Then I will have a problem (hehe). I am also a central theme person you might say meaning I always must have core themes available like City, Castle, Space and so on. If any is not produced for a long period of time I would start to get worried. But I think to myself that now I can have time to collect the older sets I like. Take a break from current stuff you might say. The themes that don't last for more than a year, it depends with those. I did not like Power Miners, Agents or Batman. However they did give us some good parts so it wasn't a total loss. Plus I turned some nice profits off of batman . Others like Indiana Jones, Vikings and Aqua raiders are cool themes but after so long they have to run out of a set ideas. These are not core themes. That is why I am ok with them not being made anymore as long as everyone is happy with what LEGO did with the theme. -
City Corner for $40 One of the best City Set I have purchased/seen in a long time.
-
Yes I saw this but not there. On Borders.com And Barns and Noble.com No comments or descriptions however. I hope it will be cool, but I suspect something Fire, Police or Construction related.

Just discovered between 50-100 pounds of misc bulk LEGO parts that needs sorting No room or place to sort it though I also would like to resort another 100 pounds that I already sorted, but could be much better. Also I would recommend using fishing tackle boxes for LEGO parts. There are loads of compartments for specialized parts and accessorizes. I organized mine much better yesterday. Put in train tracks/motors and such. I need to buy plastic bins, more containers with draws, some of those 2x3 small bags. LEGO Organization Continues......

Oh thanks!

Hey everyone, this poll is inspired after our general dissension topic about the TRU 2010 Exclusive -- here No results yet as to who won. So.... My question is what did all of us vote for? Which is the most popular choice among us? Here were the choices: Transportation Center Truck Stop City Square What did you vote for? I will kick off voting I voted for the Transportation Center

I never said anyone was complaining about it. Used as more of no one payed much attention to it I would have to say I like both windshields from 2007 and 2010 equally

I voted Outstanding of course  This was a such an awesome set! The concept of a Monorail was very nice and I don't think they started using monorails or air-trains much after this set was made. So you could say this set idea was ahead of its time Awesome set one of my all time favorites
