Fire Boat is alright, if you like boats but I am not a boat fan Now the new Fire Station is very nice I own the 2007 version which I thought was the best one yet This new fire station has some cool features like the glass building that the other one didn't The structure is cool and I like the pole they slide down on However I also agree with Klaus- Dieter The trucks are mediocre and not as nice as the 07 trucks Also no civilians is downside, at least someone to rescue Now in this case I think LEGO could have made a compromise Make a set that has a civilian apartment building or a store , styled by the City Corner sets Have the set have fire/flame parts and include a fire truck to rescue people from the fire That would have been great! I hope we see more civilian based sets

I had to make the ultimate sacrifice........ sell one of my Star Wars set

This is very bad news indeed. Pirates should be one of those every year themes like Castle and Space are. We had a great new selection of maritime accessories and some awesome figs! The sets were great and I can not think of anything negative aspects Why get rid of a good theme? The other decent ones that are system based (excluding licenses) are only City and Castle The other themes like Space Police while showing improvement are not up to par with these I hope one day in the future we see Pirates return. There was so much potential for new sets

I managed to get a truly awesome set and I am sure all of know it With instructions and box

Awesome find! It looks like a french town or village Although it does have Imperial soldier figs I don't get the port city feel from it Nothing pirate related in there it looks like besides the soldiers I would love for LEGO to do something like this today with the modern pirates The closest set to it would be the Imperial Trading Post Thanks for sharing this!!

I voted for Pirates and evened the playing field against the British

Thanks for sharing It sort of reminds me of the Lugnet logo I love these optical illusions, fun to look at.

The description read: " LEGO Store Honolulu Grand Opening, be one of the first 200 customers to spend $35 and recieve a limited edition LEGO Hawaiian Fish Set!" As I read that on the LEGO website I got all excited and was monetarily overtaken by wild dreams about a little minifig on a boat catching fish or on a beach that had surfers and little LEGO coconuts Then it hit me, fish not fishing set However I instantly knew what is was going to be even before I saw it Sadly I wasn't one of the first 200 people, but after some special request they handed me the instruction sheet to build one! Now as a EB exclusive, everyone can build one too! Oh and something about ImperialShadows wanting this also encouraged me Even has an inventory Full image gallery (when public) What is that strange fish you might ask? Well it is a Reef Triggerfish or as we call it a "Humuhumunukunukuapua'a" Former Hawaii State fish I wasn't joking about the name either Wiki article Happy building!

Pirate Island with harbor mountain beach and many more
Piranha replied to maydayartist's topic in Pirate MOCs
Wow this is an awesome MOC! Great job with everything! This is a really sweet diorama set up. Do I spot the castle village set in there? Now who is up for pillaging and looting? Keep on buildin'!! I enjoy it very much -
Good topic! I find that I never had this problem, because I don't own enough at one time or have them built However this also reminds me of a similar problem. LEGO cars throughout the years. They are all different, much like cars are today. However the only problem is the scale and size and details In the future I would love to set a table town with a train running through it. Until then I continue adding sets that can be used in such a town and a huge need is houses. The creator houses are fine but some city ones would be perfect.

I voted: Soldiers Fort Soldiers Fort Cannon Battle Pirate Impulse If I could I would have voted for the Soldiers fort in every category It really is the best, it has a little bit of everything All of the 2009 pirate sets have been really good and I really need to buy some more

This is one of those classic battles like (Mc.Donalds or Burger King), (Pepsi or Coke), ( MAC) or PC), (Red or Blue ) And then BSB vs SES. Both are awesome. Personal preference is what it comes down to I guess As for me I would save the BSB as it is just plain awesome

Town and City is universal basically, the style may change ,but it can be integrated into almost anything At first I was thinking trains, but that is very similar because trains can be easily used with city. However there a wide variety of themes, one I think you might have missed is Space. There could be futuristic space cities and such. It would work especially well with the current Space Police line because police are in every city, and the criminals need something to be criminal against

1989 had some of the best all time Pirate sets ever made, such as the BSB Those are timeless classics that I can not really compare to modern day LEGO pirates The modern day sets are nice too, with great new parts and more details Since they are so different there really is no comparison (something like Classic Town and Modern City) Both are very good and have different aspects However If I were to pick one over another than I would have to go with 1989 of course (Hm, really love these new to me pirate emoticons )

Excellent update of the Ranks thread However I think one is missing "LEGO Rep" which obviously is a representative from LEGO But still would be a nice addition to the user groups

Heh, interesting topic In my signature I have a Classic Space logo accompanied with some text Next is a picture of my EGO Store card I am so proud to have filled up with stamps The next is a "Da Kine" logo, which represents my BrickLink Store Finally I have links to my Brickshelf Gallery and Bricklink Store Then of course a sign off

Heh, cool I didn't think this topic I made such a long time ago would still be active You guys must have alot of ideas it has kept on goin and goin..... Klaus-Dieter- I remember when this first started about a month later I had forgotten about this topic and I came back to check up on it and it was loaded with posts of all your ideas. Sorry I hadn't checked those sooner You have contributed a great amount to this thread and have really kept it going. Also good point brought up about the vintage mini fig having the cowboy hat I think Wild West would be a very popular theme if released today There can be so many great sets made and parts (i.e cactus, holster)

I had originally done this topic as a poll, but then changed it because I thinkpolls mostly show what the majority of members prefer one choice vs another, This topic I wanted to be discussion oriented for everyone to share their comments. However I think a poll would be nice, but perhaps divided categories for cargo and civilian stations.

Petition: We want the Pirates Advent Calender in the United States
Piranha replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
I am adding my name to this petition We need the Pirate advent calender in the USA! Pirate Advent Calender for all! -
Heretic! Purist vintage town and City only! Good suggestion, adding links would be very helpful for people to see I didn't want to include a massive picture post, but links are a good alternative Thanks for contributing those, it was not easy for me because I am not familiar with those train eras The other stations I mentioned I did know about, so it is easier if you have a know how Good point made, I did see the cargo stations, but I was thinking along the lines of passenger or civilian train stations However it is fine to include these because some are very good like the ones you mentioned Great replies, everyone I really enjoyed reading them!

Whoa dude, lighten up There can't be a king rank anyhow I realized because a king is a single rank, only one person can occupy. Main purpose of my post was aimed at BrickMiners color choice of the ranks. The rest is just for fun. EDIT: written in a nice Tone (hehe)

Now there haven't been many, I counted the ones on BrickLink and could only come up with five (5) Also three have the same name 2150- Train Station (1996) 4556- Train Station (1999) 7997- Train Station (2007) The two others are 4513- Grand Central Station (2003) 4554- Metro Station (1992) This doesn't include the ones they occasionally feature in the train sets that come with track and locomotives My personal favorite is 2150 which is a thing of a beauty I couldn't find any for the 12v or 4.5 time eras, which makes me wonder why? Do train stations sell good? Most likely only people who own trains will buy train stations Also train models are limited to 1 or 2 every so often The only reason I can think of for why Train stations are not often released Your thoughts

If one day there is a rank after Grand Duke, I would like to be the first one to suggest "King" The Grand Duke has a red star which is very nice and my favorite color besides green and blue Maybe a King can have a darker red or gold star? All the rank names I enjoy (castle hierarchy right? ), if I recall BrickMiner based them on the color spectrum I wonder sometimes what if they had been space based, a vassel could be a Cadet and so on

You know you are a fan of LEGO when you make a holy pilgrimage to one of the 4 LEGO mecca's. (LEGOLAND) Maybe somebody can update the first post with all the reasons thus far so we don't repeat any

Awesome! I remember when it was released as a legend I especially like how they made the box art like a black & white photo.
