  1. Great review WhiteFang! Not my favorite series but there are some good figs in this one. Larry, William Shakespeare, Emmet, and a few others are all nice to have. The frontiersman outfit can easily be refitted with a normal head for use in historical themes. I do feel it is lacking that one must have minifig (usually a historical one) but that is not a big deal. Interesting how the packaging appears to have a matte finish and is lacking the "?" design.
  2. Hawkeye I thought was a good choice, he got a decent amount of screen time. True, any hero could have done the same things in the film but that can be said about pretty much any character in the Marvel Universe. They should have had Ant-man, Moon Knight, Spider-man and Wolverine thrown in for good measure. Really, it is just how Marvel decides to use and portray their characters and they probably thought Hawkeye was a more likeable character.
  3. They could have done a real Helicarrier, similar to the ISD priced at $200-$400. However, I think they are saving that for use as a more generic platform. Where they can lump a lot of heroes and villains together and not worry about any continuity (hopefully it would include some "obscure" ones). I don't think anyone is complaining, just offering their feedback on a product they are enthusiastic about, nothing wrong with that. It comes down to the rendition of the character and the execution of the sets. A lot of people like MCU Iron Man, but the sets were so poorly executed and lackluster that they failed to do justice to the character or film. If we got some well designed Thor or Cap sets based on the MCU then everyone would love them. If TLG is making sets just to sell the minifigs (which I think they are), they should just switch to a CMF model. Minifigs should always compliment the model and build, not the other way around.
  4. The box art looks great, I love it. Those alternate builds for the "regular" models are all nice. The Ice Cream truck and Plumber truck are must haves, I don't think either have appeared as regular City vehicles in the past.
  5. I forgot to mention, those are the descriptions from Bol.com, the website that had the Steam Roller pictures. Blame Google translate for the grammar errors. I thought this was interesting, Iron Spider? Some other variation? Or just a grammar error? What do you guys think?
  6. Here are the (translated) descriptions for the Marvel sets:
  7. Isn't that the never released Flying Dutchman that appeared on a D2C list? It was rumored to have over 2000 parts and would have been the biggest ship ever released.
  8. I don't think so. It looks nothing like CM4S's sketch a few pages back.
  9. LEGO lore is pretty interesting, especially the space stuff, these timeline and planet discussions are good reads. I have read that the directors wanted to make the film similar to a kid playing with their LEGO, mixing everything together, etc. It is also not a storyline from LEGO directly, LEGO let the directors create their own storyline using LEGO but they also gave some creative input. In the end, I feel the running continuity of LEGO is made up as the themes come along.
  10. Oh, I didn't notice what the background plane was, I was too busy looking for Johnny Thunder. I wonder if that will be a 2-1 model as well, if not, it is nice to get some parts to use in a MOC one.
  11. The fifth one is the Juniors Batcave (10672). I agree, I want comic X-men minifigs, not the film ones. I think either the X-jet or a brick built Sentinel (mech) would be nice to have. The X-jet could be $50-$70 and include 5-6 figs. The Sentinel could be $20-$30 and include 3-4 figs.
  12. I want "Bob's Kabob's" food cart. Hoping it is in the next wave.
  13. Sure it is.
  14. Well, DC has 5 known sets next year, and Green Lantern hasn't appeared yet. If you add the totals, DC would need only 2 sets next year to be equivalent to Marvel (overall). We haven't had a retailer exclusive in some time, so I expect at least one set with Green Lantern. The other production slot could be saved for the Batman vs Superman film in 2015. Or they can expand to real Justice League sets (pipe dream).
  15. Well, it wouldn't be much of a stretch to include the variant Spider-man, as the ASM films take inspiration from the Ultimate comics like the TV show. Disney has had the rights to make products based on the film(s) since 2011. The 2013 SDCC minfig is Spider-man wearing the suit from the movie. Also, the game has an Electro based on the film (TT games rep confirmed it is based on the film). Also this:
  16. Yes, I am guessing they decided to save that production slot for 2014. So far, there are at least 8 Marvel sets in 2014 ( 3 USM, 2 Avengers, 1 Juniors, 1 X-men and 1 Guardians of the Galaxy).
  17. They're officially on S@H. Release date is January 1st 2014. The official name is: LEGO® Minifigures - The LEGO Movie Series. Which is interesting, I am guessing that means what we would consider S13 will be called LEGO Minifigures - The Simpsons Series. I hope this opens the door for a LEGO Minifigures - Marvel Universe Series. One off (special) releases for other licenses I think would be fantastic.
  18. These are my guesses for what will appear in the 2014 Marvel sets: - Mary Jane, Falcon, Red Skull, Luke Cage, Taskmaster and MODOK will be the same designs from the game - Captain America will have his Winter Soldier costume - Thor will have a new helmet/hair piece combo mold from the mini series - Hulk will have purple pants and a alternate expression - Spider-man in 76015 will have his Amazing Spider-man 2 costume - Doc Ock will have a new comic design - The Guaridans of the Galaxy set will be based on the movie (set wise) but will feature the comic designs for the minifigs from the game - Groot will be a big fig - Winter Soldier (polybag) will be the S@H offer for April - Stan Lee will be the promo fig for a Marvel book - The X-men set will feature Cyclops and other new characters
  19. I think he means newer as in that part was never used in the original Classic Space theme on a ship. That is a good find, maybe it will be part of a large cruiser or a smaller complimentary model.
  20. Was that Juniors set always scheduled for a January release?
  21. Now I can't wait to see it. Benny the Space guy has been mentioned to play an important role in the film. In addition there were several large trans yellow windscreens found in LEGO's database recently. More than just a thought.
  22. I wonder if that is because Avengers: Age of Ultron is scheduled to be released in May and Disney didn't want its two biggest film franchises releasing their respective films in the same month.
  23. I am guessing in 2015, Marvel, something to tie in with the Avengers sequel. Helicarrier or Stark Tower (if they appear).
  24. That is how Star-Lord looks in the upcoming film? Yeah, I will take the comic book version anyday over that one.
  25. Here are the descriptions for all the officially revealed sets:
