  1. That is good news, in addition to hopefully Amazing Spider-man 2, they can use them in future sets. I wouldn't expect sets next year as others have mentioned since TLG plans its releases quite a while in advance, but still something useful for TLG to keep in their back pocket. On another note, a seller on ebay (item #400522809281) appears to have an Iron Patriot early, looks like a factory leak, since some areas look smudged like a factory second. That same seller also has a listing for the SW advent calender young Boba Fett minifig, a set not due until this winter.
  2. Congrats mate, really deserved promotion. Doc has done a ton of work both behind the scenes and on the public forum to really optimize it and the EBSWF Blog. Now we can rule the galaxy as, oops wrong quote.
  3. Some more possible sets: Gotham Docks: $39.99 Includes dock area, crates, containers and harbor warehouse. Minifigs: Arkham Origins Batman, Deathstroke and Deadshot. Gotham Zoo: $49.99 Several animal exhibits (lion, reptile house, polar bear), zoo shops/stalls and a small zoo warehouse where Man-bat can hang inside. Minifigs: Batman (2007 suit update), Damian Wayne Robin, Man-bat, Killer Croc and Red Hood. Justice League HQ: $119.99 Justice Tower or Hall of Justice, (prison area possibly) and a UFO for Braniac. Minifigs: Superman (w/boot leg printing and "S" printed on cape), Martian Manhunter, Flash, Green Lantern, Shazam, Green Arrow, Braniac and Black Adam.
  4. I agree the Marvel line has been lacking in comic inspired sets (which are very nice), which is probably the only way to get lots of characters that haven't appeared in films or shows recently. That is why I believe the next wave would be a great time to introduce more comic based Marvel sets. Because honestly this year having only Ultimate Spider-man sets in the winter wave was a disappointment. Plus one set for Marvel seemed to be missing, barring a possible Thor 2 set in November. Which is also possible considering last year, the sixth Marvel set came in August.
  5. My guesses for next year/January wave; DC: $10-20: The Flash vs Captain Cold $20-50- Killer Croc's Lair: Nightwing, Killer Croc, Batman $70-100- Wayne Manor: Batgirl, Alfred, Lucius Fox, Deathstroke, Deadshot, Arkham Origins Batman style suit. (Arkham Origins loosely based tie in) Marvel: $30-40- Fantastic Four Fantasticar: Human Torch, Invisible Woman, Thing, Mr. Fantastic, Silver Surfer $160 D2C- Stark Tower: Bruce Banner, Nick Fury (film), MK 2, MK 1, Steve Rodgers, Tony Stark, etc Lastly some sort of comic inspired X-men set. I expect TLG to completely stack the deck with all new characters next year.
  6. They will if it lasts as long as SW. I mean we are getting some really obscure characters in SW now. It would be great if TLG gave us one Fantastic Four comic based set next year (like the X-men 2012 set). It would also be a good time as it would be before the GG and Captain America 2 films occupy probably all the summer/spring sets.
  7. Those new videos are awesome. Everything about this game looks fantastic, the attention to detail on each character is nice. Also the classic LEGO TT games humor is always great.
  8. TLG has never stated they won't make sets based off or inspired from video games. SW has a few sets based off games and those you mention are clearly inspired. I expect to see more inspired or loosely based sets from Arkham Origins. I also think TLG will give us some comic style Marvel sets next year (Fantastic Four would be perfect).
  9. I think around 1:14 in the video, it shows (very quickly) that you can turn the flame on and off. Not entirely sure but that is what it appeared to be. The designs of Mr. Fantastic and Human Torch I think are great and it would be nice to have them in a set next year.
  10. Moved to Culture & Multimedia forum.
  11. I couldn't agree more. IIRC the original Batman theme was not very popular at the time it was for sale on shelves. Consequently I always believed that was one of the reasons why the discontinued set prices went astronomical. I also remember the perception of the sets back then was never very high, hard to say though, since it was such a long time ago. I believe even the original Spider-man theme had that problem. I do remember seeing Batman sets at steep discounts all the time on shelves. (Should have bought them all ). So possibly TLG could be playing it safe for now, only releasing smaller size sets with cool figs as a precautionary strategy. When LOTR is mentioned as a comparison, there is one difference, although licensed, it still is a castle type theme at its roots. Castle sets have always sold well, so maybe TLG feels more comfortable making larger and more detailed sets for that theme as a safer investment. Of course this is probably just my rambling on.
  12. The Fantastic Four were already confirmed in that long gameplay trailer, at the end cutscene Nick Fury says to get that "cosmic brick" over to the Fantastic Four. I don't think they would be mentioned as a reference only since Galactus is the primary villain in the game. Not to mention the Silver Surfer is also in the game.
  13. I don't know about that one, the Bat and Tumbler set is pretty weak as well. Compared to LOTR and SW so far, mostly all of the sets are lackluster. The SW wave includes three large sets (Sail Barge, RGS and AT-TE) this summer and none for Superheroes is surprising. Not for lack of subject matter either, they could be holding out seeing if the line is successful until releasing more and better sets. It would be nice to have the Helicarrier or Stark Tower as the Marvel D2C next year and some Thor 2 and Fantastic 4 sets.

  17. Fantastic review KDM. Keep em' coming. Time to join the RA? This is a great way to get the new white horse or Silver for cheap, also for those interested in just the Lone Ranger fig. I am really not a fan of the cheekbones on any of the new licensed figs however. I agree this set is a solid 8/10.
  18. I would actually like to see a new Super Chief set, with the engine and two cars, one of them being an observation car. The original was released sometime ago, so I could see a new updated version selling very well and being popular. Like with the new UCS X-Wing.
  19. Wow, that is awesome and probably the best tour set I have seen to date. Love the vintage LEGO throwback take.
  20. Iron Patriot looks fantastic. I recall hearing in some places that people were able to buy the pre-order Jack Sparrow polybag at TRU for $5 or $10 without ordering the game. I suspect YMMV again, with a possibility some will be able to purchase multiples, that is just speculation though. It depends on the store and workers it seems.
  21. If that is the only promo provided, they dropped the ball (again) this year regarding Marvel promo figs. An unoriginal polybag and a keychain. I sure hope that proves true, and I also agree this is very early for news about a pre-order bonus.
  22. Hard to say, I am leaning toward it being a real promo fig for retail stores in June or July. We might know more in May when the June store calender starts showing up. I hope it is real, as it would be our first real unqiue promo fig this year.
  23. At what minute of the trailer did you see that?
  24. Excellent creation and a fantastic addition to the CB! The Azure Angel also happens to be my favorite "model" of the Delta-7 starfighter. I think you captured it nicely in bricks, seeing as the design is very unique and streamlined.
  25. Oh good, I have my calendar marked already.
