  1. I must say, I really love all the figures this theme has to offer. I wish I could buy all the figs and forget about the sets. These two factions would be awesome as supplementary forces for past evil and good teams.
  2. I chose three. Sam for many obvious reasons. I'm currently re reading the books, and much of the Two Towers stays close to Sam's thoughts on the situation. Plus, without him, Frodo would've failed. Second, I chose Eowyn. I chose her because she had the bravery and courage to defy the military rules and fight for what she believed in: those she loves. Plus, she had the bravery to stand against the Withc-King and defeat him in combat. And thirdly, I chose Faramir. He has some of the most courage in all of LOTR, because he is able to withstand the temptation of the Ring and let Frodo go, but he also risks everything, mainly any love his father ever had for him, because he knew that it was the right thing to do.
  3. Yoda's JSF was one of the cutest ships ever! It would make a great set!
  4. What I hope is that they ignore the Galen Marek story altogether. To me, this show is going to trump TFU when it comes to where things live within the canon. I hope that they use the one deleted scene from ROTS of Padme, Bail, Mothma and a few others meeting and discussing a Rebel Alliance. That way, Bail and Mothma can play larger roles, along with possibly Ackbar. Theycoulddrive the political side of the show (which will inevitably be there), while characters like Chewie, 3P0 and R2, and possibly Han while he's in the Imperial Fleet, can drive the action side of the show. What will be interesting is seeing what sort of stories and relationships they decide to show. Possibly how Lando and Han met, how the Falcon got into Han's hands, and how Chewie became his friend. One this I really hope for is that this new show will have the same look as the CW did. Same animation style and character design. I feel like if they maintain the look and feel of The Clone Wars with this show, they will create a good sense of continuity between the CW, Rebels, and the films. I would like to think of this show as a continuation of The Clone Wars, just after ROTS. One thing I would be super happy about would be if Ahsoka was in the show and played a major role.
  5. I'm not sure how many people have seen this, but I thought it might be a good idea to bring it here. http://starwars.com/news/new-animated-series-star-wars-rebels-coming-fall-2014.html With this new show set to premiere in the fall of 2014, could this be the next big thing for LEGO Star Wars before the new trilogy? I wouldn't be surprised if the Winter 2015 wave of sets is exclusively from this new show. I'm excited to see how this show develops, and how it will impact the LEGO Star Wars theme.
  6. The site has been updated on LEGO.com. http://thelordoftherings.lego.com/en-us/default.aspx?icmp=COUSFR11LOTR The video is pretty cool.
  7. Yeah, it's like saying Smaug SMAO-g, not smog.
  8. Even though he mispronounced Sauron every time (its pronounced OW as in OWL), I must say that this set, while slightly small, is amazing when it comes to the value for money. Three brand new exclusive figures, a horse, and an eagle, plus two grunts, for a set similarly priced to the Orc Forge or Weathertop, sets which only had four-five figures each. Overall, I thin k this is the best value for money set this wave. While the other three sets each offer unique new things, this set offers quite a bit for a decent price.
  9. Actually, they're slightly different. While both are dark grey with blue and red printing, Boromir's have silver rather than gold on the edges of the blue, and Aragorn doesn't have the belt printed on, while Boromir does.
  10. Do they stay attached to the heads well. Sometimes rubbery hair pieces tend to not attach as strong as hard plastic hair.
  11. I guess the Peter Jackson Corsair pirate counts. Even though you see the ships in the theatrical version, the confrontation between Aragorn and Co. and the ship is the only scene where he appears majorly.
  12. Sounds like reviews should soon be showing up!
  13. Ok, I've just spent the entire day building an LDD version of the Unyielding Keep. The pictures are up on my project on CuuSoo. http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/40408
  14. Hi everyone! I'm rather knew to LDD, and I'm having a tough time finding a piece. It's the technic pin hinge brick. http://cache.lego.com/media/bricks/5/2/4211461.jpg http://cache.lego.com/media/bricks/5/2/6011459.jpg http://cache.lego.com/media/bricks/5/2/4219256.jpg I can't find these parts anywhere, and I really need them for my build. If someone could help me out, that would be great.
  15. Thanks for the suggestions on the presentation of my project. I know that it is severely lacking when it comes to visuals. The picture I used was on of an old MOC I made, and isn't really a representation of what I want the theme to look like. I have never really used LDD to any great length. I tested it out a bit when it first came out but just lost interest duet pits lack of elements. I know that it has improved significantly over the years now. Is it now available on a website, or is it software I have to download?
  16. I recently came up with an idea for a new castle theme that could possibly become the theme after LOTR is done. Please support! http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/40408 And here is the original thread I began about the project. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=82305
  17. My idea is now up on CUUSOO if people want to pitch in their support! http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/40408
  18. I love in that fold out picture how outnumbered the evil side is. I means, the Mouth and Saruman with a few orcs cannot possibly win against The Three Hunters, Gandalf the White, Elrond and Arwen, and the Army of the Dead. Really shows how much we need more generic good soldiers.
  19. Someone did a photoshop recolour of Aragorn to make him look more accurate to the films. If he had been done like that by TLG, then a dark green cloak would look great. But since they gave him a brown jacket, I find that green stands out too much and looks bad.
  20. I just pushed the cape as close to the torso as possible and then forced the beard on. Both pieces are fine.
  21. Yeah, I talked to the assistant manager at my local LEGO store and they said June was the release.
  22. I find that brown looks good for Aragorn, dark blue for Gimli, dark green or nothing for Legolas, the olive green capes that Merry and Pippin originally had are fine, Frodo and Sam's grey capes are fine, dark red for Boromir, no cape for Eomer. You can easily swap some of the capes from the dwarves ( Bifur, Bofur and Oin especially ) since they don't really wear capes or cloaks in the film.
  23. It's definitely getting a second wave based on the second film, and likely a third wave for the third film. Anything after that is just hopeful wishing, but we can pretty much be guaranteed two more full Hobbit waves. Also, there was a post in the LOTR 2012 thread that showed someone on Reddit who got the new sets from their local LEGO store because they worked there. It was somewhere in the US. I wonder if this means that thesets could be getting released ahead of schedule like last year.
  24. They could do this, kinda like how've they've done Yoda all these years.
