Yeah, it would make sense that LEGO would have their designs done before the game was complete. Thats one reason I love the game so much: its an amazing teaser at some of the things LEGO could make. I really hope we see the Gothmog figure. And the orc sword from the game seemed to be an altered version of the current mold in use. Perhaps the armoured orc in the Corsair set will have a dark brown armour piece with the printing from the game on it.

I've been playing the LEGO LOTR video game and recently saw the part from FOTR when Gwahir saves Gandalf from Orthanc, the Eagle design in the game is identical to the one in the prelim picture. It seems that LEGO is making their new figures based on their video game designs, which makes me very happy. Here is a reference image I found: http://brickhorizon.com/boardz/viewtopic.php?f=19&p=42835 The only difference is it looks like the game developers animated the feet to be separate, but I believe the ABS version will be just one large foot.

I would like to see a small-medium sized set based on Radagast's sled and the chase with the Wargs. Set could include the sled with a new bunny mold, a new Radagast fig, two Wargs, one with a plain orc, one with Azog. And maybe there could be the rock with the secret path to Rivendell and a tree. Although Azog is inaccurate to this scene, Yazneg is inaccurate to the tree scene, so just put Azog in this set and then give him the White Warg. Sure, kids will notice, but they likely won't care because they'll be getting Azog AND Radagast, plus more Wargs, in one set.

Does anyone think that the glowing white figures on the prelim that represent the Dead Men of Dunharrow means that the arms and heads of those figs, along with some of their torso prints, will be glow in the dark? That would be really cool!

Since the next Hobbit wave will be based on a specific film, we'll likely get a full 6-7 sets. Also, since two of the major scenes from DOS have been covered already, we could either get two DOS sets, or we could get one exclusive Trollshaws set instead of a larger DOS wave overall. I'd rather 4-5 DOS sets and an exclusive Trollshaws set (exclusive because thats likely the only way LEGO would justify the three unique troll molds). I really just want to see a decent Laketown, Thranduil's Halls. Beorn's house, and something with Azog. I really want an Azog fig.

That's when we'll get the best pics anyways. FBTB always get very thorough pictures of practically all the major themes. They did amazing coverage of LOTR last year, so I have a strong feeling they'll get all the pics we desire this year.

It looks like that is her skin, but from the lighting of the photo it appears white. It will likely be fleshie. Overall, these figs are amazing! Sure, there are a few figs that are old news (Gandalf the Grey, Frodo, the Three Hunters), and the orcs are a major opportunity wasted, but the new figs easily make up for this. Elrond's hair will likely be a completely unique mold, with the tiara molded into the piece. It would look plain stupid if it were printed. The Mouth of Sauron looks fantastic, and I'm interested in seeing what his entire face print looks like. I wonder if 1) he'll have alternate mouths (one open, one closed), and 2) if they'll have any sort of eyes underneath.

I think that LEGO could've made one set based on the Petranaki Arena. They could remove Anakin and Padme from the Gunship set and replace them with two clone troopers. Then, they could make a medium sized playlet with Anakin, Padme and two Geonosians. The set could include two of the three pillars and one of the gates the creatures come out of, along with the Reek. It wouldn't be the whole arena, but it would've been better than nothing, and it would have given us not only one of the three creatures, but also some new non-CW Geonosians.

I'm fine with less clones. As much as these new AOTC clones are my favourite clones yet, the other Phase 1 CW clones are fine, and I still love the old 2002 versions. I'd rather all of the remakes of old figs, plus some of the new Jedi. Plus, the Tank Droid sounds cheap enough to be bought at least twice. And hopefully these new clones will become relatively cheap on BL. After having read the descriptions more thoroughly, I'm quite content with what we seem to be getting. Sure, maybe one more clone in the Tank and Spider droid sets would have been nice, but overall we're getting quite a few brand new figs. I can't wait to see pictures. I'm really intrigued by the JEK-14 fighter. The clone commando thing sounds an awful lot like a Republic Commando, and if it is, I'm glad.

And with the recent Anakin's Jedi Interceptor and Palpatine's Arrest, I can't think of any major ROTS sets that would be necessary. Maybe a new Wheel Bike and Boga, with a ROTS-accurate Grievous. As for these upcoming AOTC sets, I'm ecstatic! Poggle the Lesser will be a fantastic figure, and I can't wait for more Jedi!

Picked up the new A-Wing, Z-95 and two of the AOTC battle packs. Very happy with all of them. The A-Wing, while similar to the Home One version, is very nice and slightly better. The Z-95 is bigger than I expected, and is a lot more swooshable than the ARC-170. Also, Krell is outstanding. The two Bps are nice, and I combined the two command centres to create a larger, more movie accurate command centre. The Droidekas are the best they've made them yet. I can't wait for the summer wave with all the new AOTC stuff!

Recently got the new Hoth and Rancor sets, along with the Umbarran canon and the AT-RT. The OT sets are great (haven't yet had the chance to build the Pit), and now I regret purchasing the CW sets. I would return them, but I already built them. I really like the figs, and thought the sets would be a nice addition to my collection. Now I have fully reassured myself that I should only buy OT and PT sets from now on.

After having purchased the new Hoth and Rancor sets recently, I've come to the realization that LEGO seems to like to pick a few certain locations or events from the OT and flog them like a dead horse. Over the past three or four years, we have seen numerous Hoth sets, enough to recreate the entire battle in a decent manner. Same hose for the Tatooine scenes from ROTJ. With the Palace, Pit, Skiff, and upcoming Sail Barge, LEGO will have covered all the major elements of those scenes. What they now need to do is switch their focus and do Bespin and Endor. I know that in the past, people have wanted and wished for a Death Star style Bespin set. I think that would be the wrong way for LEGO to do it. I would much rather see smaller sets that, once put together, create something similar to the old Bespin set, only on a larger scale. As for Endor, I really think they just need to make the tree houses, possibly remake the Bunker (but that may not be necessary) and maybe remake the AT-ST as its own set. After that, ey could maybe do a Cantina set and a Bantha set to get some decent ANH coverage, and LEGO will have covered all of the OT in revamped or new sets.

I would really love to see them redo The Complete Saga, but update all the character designs and add the dialogue. Plus, the hub could be across the Galaxy, so you travel by hyperspace to different planets, which are big hub worlds.

The Hobbit for the fourth time! Second time in 48fps. Can't get enough Middle-Earth!

Those would be identical to Gandalf's cape. I've actually tried it, and to me it doesn't look that good. Legolas is good with dark green, Aragorn with brown, Gimli with dark blue, and Boromir with dark red.

Well, for now, variety in my Mordor/Northern orc army is absolutely zero. Just bought 16 Orc keychains, which puts me at a nice 20 orcs (not including three Goblins, two Moria orcs, and Yazneg). All I need is some pliers to get the stupid chains off the figs.

I'm with LordofBricks on this armour discussion. Of the four major factions (Isengard, Gondor, Rohan, Mordor) only Uruks of Isengard and soldiers of Gondor should need a full armour piece. Mordor orcs and Rohirrim don't have heavy enough armour to warrant a full chest plate. Maybe for some of the higher ranking Mordor orcs (mainly Gothmog) an armour piece would look good and make him stand out among the ranks, but overall, Orcs don't seem to have armour as heavy as Uruks. That being said, if LEGO decided to maker a new armour piece with nice printing, I wouldn't complain.

When I get multiples of a fig, I usually just keep the extras somewhere in case I ever need to use them. I rarely take them apart or anything (except for all the Harry Potter and Indy figs).

It's actually pretty smart for LEGO to put Saruman in (likely) two sets this wave. People who will spend the money on Orthanc won't really need to get the Wizard Battle set, and those who don't care about the tower and just want the fig can get him for cheap. And then there are those strange completionists who have to get every set, like me.

The fact that Adam Brown bought the whole set is pretty cool. It really goes to show how much the cast appriciets and loves the fact that they are now LEGO, and shows that everyone has a place somewhere in their heart for these little plastic bricks.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 5 Discussion
Fives replied to LEGOman273's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Didn't Lucas say that there were only going to be 100 episodes. What if this is the end of the series. I think they should make one more CW movie to tie it all up, just like how they started it with a movie. -
I like her inclusion. It now gives us a notable female elf from the three most important Elvendoms during the Third Age (Rivendell, Lorien, Mirkwood). The other two are Galadriel and Arwen.

When the first LOTR wave was released, it was scheduled for a June release, but I was ale to get the sets a few weeks early. So, given the July 2013 date, the sets will likely be available a few weeks early in a few stores.

Fantastic news GRogall! I forget, but in the past you've never had the official pictures of the sets until after the NY Toy Fair. It's a shame we have to wait for about a month and a half till we get our first good pics of the finished sets. Will Orthanc be at the Toy Fair? Being an exclusive set, I'm worried it won't be there.
