Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 5 Discussion
Fives replied to LEGOman273's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I would like to see the rest of the story arcs (which will likely tie up Maul's story, Ahsoka's story, and the lead up to ROTS) as specials released on iTunes. -
I don't have a blu-ray player, and if this is only in the US, I may just need to get this fig on eBay. But it is a nice fig.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Fives replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I believe that the new suit, the one in the boat and Malibu sets, would be greatly improevd by swapping the arms and hip pieces for gold ones. I just feel like the actual suit in the film is more gold that the figs show. -
Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Fives replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
If March is the release for these sets, I wonder how soon Canada will get them. Likely soon. All of these sets look very appealing, and I may just need to get all of them. Also, I feel like the Mandarin figure would be improved greatly if he had the same hair as the CMF Series 2 (I think it was 2) Sumo Wrestler hair. And I'm unsatisfied with Pepper Potts' hair colour and piece. I think it would better in the same colour as Kili/Hawkeye/Elizabeth Swan, that sort of dirty blonde colour. -
I have roughly 40 Uruks, and with my recent keychain purchases, my Orc army is close to 35-40 as well. What I'm upset about is the lack of Wargs. I only have the White Warg and the grey one (only bought Warg Attack once). I would search for relatively cheap ways of getting more grey ones, but I feel like, if LEGO decides to make a Warg set from The Two Towers, the Wargs will likely be brown, which would overall look much better. I also find it kinda funny. I have a decent sized army of Evil, all grunts pretty much, yet my Good forces are almost exclusively made up of heroes. Other than the small Rohirrim force I've collected due to multiple Uruk Army purchases, my Forces of Good are either Elves with names, the Fellowship, or Thorin and Co. It would be nice to receive a set similar to Uruk Army, but it has more good guys than bad. It would help balance out a lot of people's armies.

Why doesn’t LEGO provide any battle packs?
Fives replied to Elander's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I would be happy if LEGO continued to produce larger style BPs for LOTR, follow in the amazing footsteps of the Uruk Army set. They cold make sets that don't really represent any particular scene in the films, but just have a general look and feel of a battle or ambush that could've happened. So, they could make an Attack at the Wall set, and it could look like an extension of a larger Osgilliath or other Gondorian building, with a couple of Gondorians and four orcs, with maybe a catapult or an armored troll. They could also do something like this again for Rohan, with rather than a wall, it could be a burning building, and the figs could be a couple Rohirrim, two orcs and two wild men of Dunland, and maybe a Warg and a small ballista. Stuff like this, while slightly more expensive, fits better with the epic size of the battles in the films, and people are still willing to buy these sets by the dozens. If LEGO did one set like this per wave, they'd make a lot of fans happy, and make a lot of money. -
I've discovered that the old Knights Kindom II evil helmet in the metallic silvery colour looks great as an Orc helm. Also, I don't mind them all looking the same. In the end, army building will cause there to be quite a few repeats. I just recently bought 16 Orc keychains, removed the chains, and just gave them assorted weapons. Now I have an army of roughly 20 orcs, along with the Goblintown and Moria Goblins. I'm quite pleased with the result, and while a new print or helmet would look great, orcs are really just fodder soldiers anyway. I treat the Uruks like the true threat, due to their larger size and heavier armour. Then again, this is all just my personal preference. As for the two different Dead Men of Dunharrow, I'm glad they went to the trouble of making two completely unique soldiers. They're likely never gonna make the Army of the Dead again, so I'm glad they went full out of the few figures they've made to represent the army in the LEGO world.

I was not very impressed by the first episode of the Yoda Chronicles. Terrible voices. Dooku sounded nothing like him! And it still feels like an add for the newest sets. The Republic didn't have A-Wings.

Comic-Con would be the best place to announce Orthanc. It's where the showed the Rancor Pit and Bag End, and those aren't even exclusive sets. As for figure selection, I don't think LEGO has tone constrained by one film. Saruman will obviously be included. Grima is a strong contender, since I feel that a Meduseld set may not happen. Orcs will likely be included, but I have no idea how many, and they likely won't be new in any way. Either version of Gandalf is a possibility. I would love to get an Armoured Lurtz, maybe with a new hairpiece. Other than that, I can't think of anyone in particular that I would desperately want to see in the set. This will be one of the rare LOTR sets that I'm gonna buy because of the set itself. Usually the figs are the main draw for me, but if Orthanc is being handled in a UCS style, it will be plain gorgeous, a piece of art.

What if you had a machine that could make any LEGO piece, set, or mini
Fives replied to ToastyLlama's topic in Community
Army building. Making literal clones of Clone Troopers, building up Orc and Uruk armies, everything! Nothing would be impossible! -
Does anyone know if the new AOTC Anakin has a double sided head? FBTB didn't take a picture of him with his hair off. I would really like him to have an expression that represents the way he looks when he slaughters the Tuskens.
-
I understand that the Tusken Camp would represent such a horrific event from the films, but they did make the set in 2002. And while LEGO refrains from depicting such events, they have made LEGO versions of Anakin burned alive, or (although not explicitly) the Nazis from Indiana Jones. While they never explicitly Nazi, that's who they were. So I wouldn't completely write it off. I really just think a Shmi figure is needed, and I don't see any TPM sets that could be made to fulfil this.
-
I also believe we are in need of a remake of the Tuskens. We haven't seen Tusken raiders since 2002. It would be nice if LEGO made two Tusken based sets. One from AOTC, one from ANH. Junland Wastes: includes Luke (with a surprised face and an unconscious/asleep face), Ben, R2 and two Tuskens, along with a Bantha. The set could be a new version of the Landspeeder and the little rock bit R2 hides in. Simple set. Likely $30-$40 Tusken Camp Attack: includes Anakin (AOTC, with sad/upset face and an angry face, an AOTC version of ROTS Anakin's angry face), Shmi (with a tired/happy face and an "asleep" face), along with two Tuskens, one male and one female. Maybe a child as well. And maybe a Massif. The set would be Anakin's red swoop bike, a couple of tents with some detail inside, and a fire pit. Likely $30-$40 Along with these needed Tusken sets, I think we should get a remake of the Bounty Hunter Pursuit. Coruscant Chase: includes AOTC Anakin and Obi-Wan, Zam Wessel (special helmet mould that has her purple veil detachable like a helmet visor, along with an alternate Clawdite face), and the centipede droid thing, with a place for Obi to hang onto. Set would be majorly updated versions of Zam's and Anakin's speeders. $25-$30 Now for some more quick ideas for sets that would be cool to see, but don't really introduce too many new figs. Dooku's Fate: includes ROTS Anakin, Dooku, and Palpatine in his grey robes. Set would be the steps and chair that Palpatine is held on, along with a few other things, similar in style to the new Geonosis Duel set. $30-$40 Wookiee Catamaran: includes Tarful (printed eyes), Chewie (printed eyes), non-CW Luminara Unduli, Commander Gree, Kashyyk trooper, two SBDs, three BDs. Set would be a heavily updated Catamaran. $60-$80 Grievous Pursuit: includes ROTS Obi, ROTS Grievous (CW body/limbs with a more movie accurate head, and maybe a cape), set would be an updated Wheelbike and a nicely molded and detailed Boga. $25 Separatist Crab Droid: includes Commader Cody, a 212th Airborne trooper and a basic 212th trooper, two BDs. Set would be a decently sized Crab Droid, and maybe a little missile launcher thingy for the clones. $30

Having now seen the new Jango Fett fig, I am really wondering whether LEGO will remake the AOTC Slave I. I would love to see them do it, and it would be a perfectly logical place to introduce two figures that LEGO fans have been wanting for years: the Kaminoans! They could be included in the set because the context makes sense, although they actually wouldn't have a place IN the actual set, much like Gunray in last years Jedi Interceptor. They could make Taun We and Lama Su, do a good job of them, and then never have to touch on them again. And the other figs could be Obi, Jango and young Boba, who would all be remakes of this years figs.

It's brilliantly clever for LEGO to use the Dooku face for Saruman as well. I mean, in the end, it's Christopher Lee.

For people who are upset about the new Imperial Scout, a way of making it better would be giving it white hands. Although inaccurate, it would balance out the white and the black on the fig.
-
Makes sense. There's also Stass Allie and Boba Fett, but whose the white clothed Luminara Unduli? With a double bladed green saber? Confusing, but a great fig.
-
When should we expect FBTB's pictures to be up? They always seem to take the most in depth photos of the sets, so I can't wait to see their coverage.

This is gonna be a great year for SW! The lack of CW sets is a major plus! We have needed remakes of the AOTC sets for far too long. All of the figures look great. Dooku is great, as is Yoda. The Anakin looks great, in my opinion. The hair, while over used, is fitting. But Padme is the best of the Gunship figs. Windu is nice. It's a shame that the new War Machine/Rhodey face is double sided, because it would be so much better for Windu. Trebor and Allie are also great additions to my ever growing Jedi group. The new Maul fig is gonna be really cool. Can't wait to see the legs in more detail. The one set that has taken me by surprise is the Jek set. The ship itself is pretty cool, but the figures are stunning! I love the printing of all the figs. Jek's helmet is awesome, and his blue arm looks so cool. The blue trooper looks interesting, and the shield reminds ,e of Ralph MacQuarrie's early art of the Stormtroopers. The green trooper also looks really awesome. Feels like he'd look great in a underworld style MOC. Much better wave than last year!

Ok, these sets looks fantastic. The Wizard Battle looks nice, but it really is just a cheap way of getting Saruman. Amazing fig. Rivendell looks beautiful! Elrond looks great, but to me Arwen is the star of the set. Gorgeous hairpiece, can't wait to see the printing up close. Black Gate looks amazing. The gate itself is good, could be done better as a bigger set. But Gandalf, Aragorn and the Mouth look absolutely stunning. The Mouth is the best evil fig they've done yet. The Corsair ship looks good. Again, its a set for the figs, to me at least. They've done a great job with the ship, it looks great, but the Dead Men of Dunharrow are the stars here. Great colours. I ain't quite tell what colour their skin is. It looks like its a greenish yellow, either a rarely used colour or completely new. My only real gripe is the lack of Anduril (which is kind of a big deal) and the lackluster look of the orcs. If they had done printed armour, it would have been better. Also, a new helmet rather than using the Uruk one. Still, I'm gonna get them all!

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 5 Discussion
Fives replied to LEGOman273's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Just got caught up on the show, and I must say that this has been the best storytelling of the season so far. It has had the most development of previous characters who have been in the show for a long time, and had one of the saddest moments, if not THE saddest moment, of the show so far. And Sidious's intervention of the affairs of Maul was the best the show has gotten in a long time. It really showcased his sheer power in the Force and prowess with a lightsaber. I'm most interested in seeing the stories of Maul and Bo Katan develop. Also, if Nightsisters, Monster and Witches of the mist (Season Three), Brothers and Revenge (Season Four), and Revival, Eminence, Shades of Reason and Lawless (Season Five) were all edited together into one long film, it would showcase the best storytelling and character development this show has ever offered its audiences. -
I think the reason these sets look very underwhelming is because LEGO is making this theme for kids. A lot of younger kids don't know LOTR, but they may still want knights and castles, so it seems LEGO has LOTR for the older kids/teens and AFOLs, and then the new Castle sets for younger kids.
-
Wow, that looks awesome! They've really done an amazing job of recreating the feel of Knights Kingdom 1, with the Bulls and King Leo, which was by far my favourite time of Castle, but I missed out on most of it. I likely won't get any of these because of LOTR and Star Wars, but these sure are tempting. I don't understand the complaining. Sure, Kingdoms was an amazing line, but this isn't too far from it. Two human factions battling each other. The only differenc is the wizard and dragon, which can easily just not be included. Otherwise, these could just be two more faction in the ever growing Castle universe.
-
So if we get any more news or pictures from the Nuremburg Toy Fair, when should we expect to see them? Also, do people think that, since Aragorn had Anduril during the Corsair scene and the Black Gate, will we get Anduril in both sets? To me, it doesn't make a huge difference, but it would be nice for acuuracy's sake. Also, Legolas should have the tan bow like in the game to represent his gift from Lorien.

It's LEGO, not Legos. You don't play or build with Legos, you play or build with LEGO bricks or parts or pieces or sets or Minifigs. All these are the plural versions of the components that make up the products created by LEGO. As much as this has likely been beaten to death in discussion, I had to add my two cents. When we say LEGO anything, we are referring to a company's products.
