  1. Hello everybody, it's my pleasure today to present you some new mini models today. They're all from the Expanded Universe and are affiliated with the Galactic Empire. They appear in several comic books, novels and computer games. So I hope some you you will recognize some of them. I first saw all of these in the sourcebooks to the Thrawn trilogy. Then let's begin with the first vessel. As usually the link in the description text provides a reference image, while the images are links to the imaage galleries and building instructions. -------------------- The first vehicle for today is the Chariot LAV - a light assault vehicle. It's a command speeder used quite often by most Imperial ground forces. To attach the repulsorlift engines at the back, I had to use a modified 4x4 tile with only one studs row. Otherweise the engine cones would have collided with the studs. -------------------- Second for today is the Imperial Assault Shuttle. It comes in two versions, Beta- and Gamma-class. The outer appearance is identical, so the model can display either of them. The ship has sloped side walls with hatches to release the space troopers on board. It has a complete SNOT interior enabling this shape with a quite unconventional brick (see instructions). I added as many weapons and sensors as possible as the original design bristles with weapons. -------------------- The thirs and last vessel for today is the infamous Skipray Blastboat, a very small and very dangerous craft. The back part with the engine and wings which also serve as weapons platform can rotate around the ship axis. horizontal alignment is the landing position and vertical alignment is the combat position. This has been a really tricky ship. The wings are entirely brick-built, and the wing guns are made by chainsaw pieces. The small angled wings at the sides of the cockpit were especially hard to realize. It finally went well by inverting the studs to studs-down orientation and the addition of 1x2 bricks with wing end. :clasic: -------------------- That's all for today. Thank you for your time and interest. I hope to see you around soon. Yours Christopher.
  2. Hello! It needs quite some imagination to create a Star Wars restroom. My favourite feature is the blaster holder next to the toilet. A very useful facility for troopers going there before the next mission Cheers, ~ Christopher
  3. Hello! What a great historic setting! You filled the scene witn many authentic details. The gas latern with the clock is a realy eyecatcher, and the self-built barrel with the two pirate ship outlooks is a clever idea. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  4. Hello! What I like best is the house and the characteristic look of the Naboo town style. Your diorama would also work nicely for rescue scene of the members of the royal court by Qui-Gon and young Obi-Wan in Episode I. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  5. Hello! A tricky technique you're using in your fighter. Very clever. Ships with this kind of transforming features are always impressive. What I like much as well is the big amount of wedge shaped bricks and plates all over the fighter. They're placed well to gove a streamlined look. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  6. Hello! The size itself is already impressive. It's not easy to design something that big and pay attention to all the details of the original shape. It already is excellently recognizable and now everyone will understand the term "capital-scale" turbolaser looking at the big cannon. I am sure you will carry on perfectioning the vehicle, and I'm looking forwards seeing the progress. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  7. Hello! It's a lovely scene you're showing to us here! You've used the colours cleverly so they work together in a harmonic way and provide the rigtht look for the environment you surrounded it with. The many small details give life to the diorama and make it a pleasure to look at. Christmas is coming! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  8. Hello! A well-designed fighter craft! It's great that you provide a detailed underside. The working landing gear is definitely an excellent feature. The small wing tips attached on the middle of the main wings in vertical manner give the ship a menacing overall look. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  9. Hello! A real smooth looking starfighter! Nice use of the mudguard pieces. And an interesting inverse attachment of a 2x2 roof top slope. Is it intended to be a kind of landing gear? Cheers, ~ Christopher
  10. Hello! It's nice to see a micro diorama, especially in these rare colours. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  11. Hello! This is an excellent starship for the neo-classic space theme. It has the right colours, and lots of details. I like the slight angle of the main wings and the detailed weaponry attached under them. Using the Fabuland propeller motor block is very original! Great piece usage! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  12. Hey Rickard! I appreciate your comment even though you don't like the theme. There are some more miniaturized space vessls I'd like to show during the next weeks, but I also promise to push the Star Wars project forwards. Cheers, ~ Chris
  13. Hello! This is another good example of alternate use of big and otherwise useless pieces. Plus, it looks pretty funny, as you chose also the perfect face expression for the "hunter". Cheers, ~ Christopher
  14. Hello! As Ralph pointed out... For exactly this reason I bought lots of these sets when these pieces were brand new. Prices for them were pretty high in the beginning, and these little sets offered many of them at relatively cheap price for that time. Furthermore I appreciate these sets also for the many curved elements they have. Agreed, I have also lots of wheels left over. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  15. Hello! It looks like the dojo needs a bigger shelf. The current one is already filled with the glorious challenge cups. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  16. Hello, and thank you everybody for your kind comments on Allied Avenger's miniaturized brother. It's a new aspect of space and mini building for me. It's fun and maybe there will be some more of this kind. Cheers, ~ Christopher

    UFO Walker

Hello! Good use of the UFO circle pieces. The colour scheme is nice and consistent throughout the model what makes it look even better. I also like the "snapshot" building with the firing rocket launcher. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  18. Hello! Nice show-off for this new minifigure. The stage is ready for them and it looks fine! I especially like the large support piece at the top which gives a perfect look for the stage ceiling. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  19. Hello! A well-designed vehicle! What I like best is the unusual connection for the headlights. You did it the unconventional way and attached them at the sides instead the front. Very clever, and it works excellent here! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  20. Hello! The restaurant looks great, especially the tiled roof border. I am also a big fan of the old road baseplate you used. I always liked it to place larger buildings along a road which works nicely as the road goes to the side. All in all an excellent addition for a classic town. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  21. Hello everybody! One of my favourite space sets when I was much younger was the Allied Avenger from the Blacktron II series (reference link), set 6887 that is. To illustrate this devotion, I'd like to share something special with you today. It's tiny. It looks simple. But it took me several days to get it done, the miniaturized version of set 6887 - Balcktron Allied Avenger. Just click the images or here instead to see the full gallery and building instructions. The angled wings are very compact, as the two elements had to be connetec plus attached somehow to the main body. The antennas are built using trans-neon green hooks from Aquashark minifigures. That's it for today. I hope you'll like this little creation. Thanks for your time and stepping by. Yours Christopher.

    K'gluhk

Hello! Flying mechas are rarely seen! Nice representation! I like the double-wings although the seem a bit tiny to carry the weight. I think the 1x12 wedge hinges would work better, but unfortunately the don't come in transparent colour. Agreed, in this case colour is more important than size because it gives the better organic look. Cheers, ~ Christopher

    Adder

Hello! An interesting compact build. The slight wedge shape turned out great and represents the original well from the resource link. The landing gear is also a great detail. However, I think the two rear braces should have a little more space between them. This way the ship won't tilt to one of the sides that easily and have a better stand. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  24. Hello! A quite uncommon colour combination. Very bright and shiny! The design looks quite detailed with lots of small add-ons everywhere. One thing that I find a bit disturbing is that you used trans-neon orange, trans-orange and trans red. For me personally I think it would look cleaner if you used trans-neon orange for the gun and the engines as well. The 1x1 slope could be replaced by neon 1x2 slopes when removing the yellow 1x4 brick under the cockpit closing and placing a 1x2 brick there making place for the 1x2 slopes. That's just some minor aspect however, and I am picky regarding colour shades. Another thing I like is the name "SunTron" which represents the colour scheme well! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  25. Hello! It's always a pleasure to see original boxes from earlier years. A rare pleasure unfortunately. I always found the alternate building ideas inspiring. Thanks for bringing this back to mind, ~ Christopher
