Hello! Excellent details you included in your great scenery! The roof looks really old as it should be, and the window details are excellently arranged. The goblets as handrail are also very innovative! All in all a perfect scene! Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello there! Nice idea to adapt other SciFi designs for the BlackTron colour sheme. BlackTron I had some of the best looking ships in the series although not many, and your X-Wing fit in very well! Only thing I am missing is a real trans-yellow windscreen. You might try a standard 4x6 trans yellow windscreen, just to see how it looks like. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Ah yes, ah yes. Nubian. We have lots of that.

Hello again, and thank you very much for the nice comments! I will continue with that type of story posts next week-end, as my real-life job keeps me busy the entire week. And thank you that you pointed me to he word I was lacking: "set" is the appropriate description of the kind of image compilation I used. By the way, Rob, I am only active here since a few days, so no worries that you haven't noticed earlier. I have registered 2 years ago, but never posted since then. See you around! ~ Christopher -
What's your favorite LEGO license theme so far?
Legostein replied to BrickMonster MonsterBrick's topic in LEGO Licensed
Hello! Yes, there are quite some themes missing. Maybe it should be a general Disney® theme instead of Toy Story, as there were Mickey Mouse sets before, around the year 2000. Here is the link to a list with licenses themes and release/end dates: LEGO -

Thank you again, both of you, for more nice welcome greetings! No problem about the anti-micro-statement. No offense taken. I know many people have a strong dislike for them. I don't like many of the official minis either. Hence I try to do it better. What many people don't know is that you need an extensive parts knowledge to get the perfect piece for a certain shape you want to build. Which is not always easy at very small scale. Small models also take lots of time to construct. Several days to weeks is not unusual. Heavy cases already took more than a month. See you around, ~ Christopher -
Hello dear fellows! As suggested, I'd like to present some more mini models to you. But as I'd feel bad to only announce already published models, there will always be one or more unpublished or redsigned ones among them. I thought it would be best to organize them in small themed groups besides the standard sorting by episode. Please also let me know if you like the concept or if you think that's a bad and unadequate idea. I will only post unpublished models then, but these get more and more rare, as so many already have been built. -------------------- I am sure all of you will remember the scene in Episode I on Watto's junkyard about a replacement Nubian hyperdrive... That's the beginning of our first mini model story: Nubian starships! The new one is the Freefall-class Bomber from the PC games "Starfighter" and "Jedi Starfighter". The J-327 Royal starship had been completely redesigned recently, as my older version was too large. There are new photos for all Nubian ships now. All images are links to the relating galeries. -------------------- Throughout the three prequel movies, there appear a number of starships of Nubian style. One major starship in Episode I for sure the streamlined yellow Naboo N-1 Starfighter. These little fighter are often used to escort the larger royal and diplomat vessels such as the Naboo J-type 327 Royal Starship and the Naboo J-type Diplomatic Barge. Besides the N-1 Starfighters, there are also some other designs of Nubian starfighters, like the N-X Police Cruiser, the NB-1S Bomber or the Freefall-class Bomber (which has just been updated today!). Other smaller ships like the Naboo H-type Yacht or the Naboo J-type Star Skiff are fast and maneuverable enough to not need any escort. The H-type Yacht also appears in the new Clone Wars animated TV series. If you're a fan of that series, you will have noticed another new class of Nubian craft in the episode "Blue Shadow Virus". It's the Naboo S-130 Shelter Speeder, an atmospheric vehicle. The Shelter Speeder is of strange shape but has the same colour sheme as the N-1 Starfighter which brings us to full circle and ends our little story for now. -------------------- The message of this story is to not have aversions for bley or old grey colours. Don't avoid either old or new grey shades. Look at them as an enrichment for the parts variety. There are many valuable mini builder's pieces which only come in either bley or old grey shades, for example the incredible "Space Nose" piece. Mixing both colours in one creation is a different thing. That's it for today. Thanks for your time and stepping by. Have a nice sunday! ~ Yours Christopher

Hello there! Nice idea! My question would be, what keeps it flying, as the picture is cut of from the top, and no other pictures shop the top of the mast. Is there some kind of baloon on top? I could imagine that you also could build a nice rotor with four those boat ladders one of which we partially can see at the mast. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! The attachments of all the little gadgets and equipment to all sides and top of the vehicle really represents the thinking of apocalytic thinking well. Take what you can get, you might need it some day! That doctor by the way looks really scary! :skull: Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello there! Glad to meet you here too! Nothing wrong about grey. The parts variety and the prices for grey colours are simply the best available. The car look pretty sleek and fast too! One thing I would like to see are headlights. I'd imagine that the two front 1x1x2/3 slopes replaced by trans-clear ones would look spot on! Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! A great and detail-rich little scenery! It's a pleasure to look at, and you added a great story around it. The blurriness of the background skyline works excellent here. Great photography here! My most fevaourite detail is the use of the Bionicle weapon. Not a big fan of Bionicle myself, I also always try to find alternate building possibilities for such pieces. Well done! Cheers, ~ Chris

Hello! A real masterpiece of space construction you presented here! It has so many detailes that you can spend quite some time discovering them all. The shape itself is unique, no spear-like form, and no wings. Especially the inverse use of those boat windows forming the large bridge are make it special. The thruster ring is another source for greebling details. All those antennas and dishes rellay give it the spirit of a science vessel. It's not easy to keep the level of detail setady all over a large vessel, and you did an outstanding job with that! Cheers! ~ Christopher

Hello and thank you very much for the warm welcome! And also thank you for the praises. I can assure everyone that there are many more models ready to be photographed or planned. I am also aware of the Firefly series. The ship is great, and the shape is odd. A great challenge this will be. Apropos hometown, Erdbeereis, actually I was born in Karlsruhe too, and lived there vor 26 years. I finish my studies at University of Stuttgart currently. For now I think I will have some fun in the MOC forums. See you around! ~ Christopher -
Hello! The question is not completely clear to me, whether you mean a space theme by TLC, or any SciFi series in general. As for a space theme by TLC, my vote goes for M-Tron, as they were the first theme with the fancy new trans-neon pieces. Regarding SciFi in general, I like besides the obvious choices like Star Wars also the smaller themes like Space Odyssey, Firefly etc. Maybe a poll if allowed and if possible would have been easier to analyse the results of your survey. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello dear fellows, I am new! Or maybe not. Well, some people may know me already as a person focused on MINI building. I originally come from a different forum platform but the discontinuity and unsteadiness there made me homeless. It's now difficult to get into another community when you literally had thousands of posts and presented 150 models at a different place. Now I'm a newby again and have to start from scratch. Well, anyway, here am I, and one thing I already like here is the presence of a generel SciFi themed forum where there's space for all universes besides the ones under license by TLC. Here's some personal data for those interested. My name is Christopher, located in Germany and slowly approaching 30 years in age. I work at university, and build with my bricks at home in the basement. Other boards I visit besides the one I left are the 1000Steine community and LUGnet. I am mainly into miniatures and write articles for BrickJournal from time to time. Maybe I'll give a short summary of what I have bee building and posting the last 7 years for those to whom I am new. ---------- My oldest project line is Star Wars miniatures which I started in the end of the year 2002. Today there are more than 150 models. Below is an example of the 150th model being the Nu-class attack shuttle which also has been released as a LEGO® playset. All Star Wars models can be seen here on BrickShelf: Star Wars Miniatures ---------- Realizing Star Wars was not everything, I began to spread into other SciFi universes like Star Trek. As an example you can see the Constellation-class Cruiser, i.e. the Stargazer as first ship commaned by J.L. Picard. All Star Trek models can be seen here on BrickShelf: Star Trek Miniatures ---------- With the release of the new reimagined Battlestar Galactica TV series, I remembered the old classic series and thought of the many nice ships I had seen there... All Battlestar Galactica models can be seen here on BrickShelf: Battlestar Galactica Miniatures ---------- Added a bit later was the line for Stargate. Although more a ground-based series, the few space scenes revealed some pretty nice craft like the omnipresent Ha'tak-class motherships of the Goa'uld. All Stargate models can be seen here on BrickShelf: Stargate Miniatures ---------- The latest addition is just two movies - the famous Space Odyssey series. Shows below is the rendering of the Leonov docked at the Discovery One. To see all ships from Space Odysseys 1 and 2, click here: 2001: A Space Odyssey and beyond ---------- That was my quick summary of the past 7 years. Some themes also feature brick-built minifigures which you can easily locate when browsing the corresponding BrickShelf folder. You can alternatively see all models and figures on my webpage http://www.deckdesigns.de. That's it! Thanks for stepping by and have a great week-end! ~ Christopher
