Hello! This already looks pretty good from what is visible on the first image here. BrickShelf is recently a bit slower than usual with moderating the galleries, so you might want to provide some links for the deep-linked pictures. I am keen to see the interior! Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! It's an interesting ship design with the top fin. I like that the fin is symmetrical with studs on both sides. I am also a fan of the Blacktron series. When I read the thread title I hoped to see several of the old Blacktron minifigures. You might also add some minor white elements which would provide more of the classic Blacktron feel. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! The socket is a very tricky build! :clasic: It's a like a sloped cone on a heptagonal base. Great idea to use wedge plates for the outside of the socket cone. It works perfectly without any gap. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello, and thank you for the kind replies. I am glad you like the two lesser known starships. Thank you and see you soon. ~ Christopher

Hello! Great to see a large version of the TIE Raptor. It is a very rare TIE fighter appears in the X-Wing novel series as mentioned above. One of the first reference image out there was probably in "Cracken's Threat Dossier", a supplement for the old D6 roleplaying game of West End Games. But back to the MOC. The TIE windscreen works of course perfectly here. I like the way you realized the grey lines pattern on the solar panels with tubes and bar pieces. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! Thank you everyone for the nice comments! I am glad you appreciate new building ideas like incorporating the clickit rings. It was not the first time for this model, and Belville flowers have already been used, too. See you around! ~ Christopher

Hello! It goes along very well with the fire station. The little outlook at the top of the station made me smile and is my favourite here. Now I am wondering what will be gate No. 1, regarding the fact that the fire brigade has No. 3, and the police station has No. 2. Maybe a hospital is missing? Best greetings, ~ Christopher

Hello! When I was younger, classic space was just running out, and Futurons were rising. Excpet for not having a complete white uniform any longer, the colour scheme of the figures is the same as for classic space. I usually applied the Star Trek uniform guide as well. However when you compare the classic space figures and the Futurons, you can see a change in availability of the colours. For example the red uniform was the most common in classic space sets while for Futurons the red uniform was very rare and only appeared in one regular set (not including the minifg pack). So I agree with charlieboy that there probably is no obvious system behind uniform colour and function. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello everybody, today is again time for soem various science fiction models which I also enjoy building. The two models of today are from two less popular movies, but some of you might have seen them. -------------------- First model for today is the Gunstar (reference image) from the movie "The Last Starfighter" from 1984. The ship is very compact with a double-seat cockpit and crescent-shaped engine attached to the sides. I thought the best way to get the crescent sided was using offset plates, and thus the model itself is pretty tiny, unfortunately. Click the image to see more views and the instructions: -------------------- The second model for today is the Protector (reference image) from the science fiction parody "Galaxy Quest" of the year 1999. The engine/wings are half-circles making them difficult to design. The version presented here may appear a bit bulky, I am sorry for that. Click the image to see more views and the instructions: -------------------- That's it for today! I hope to present more popular general science fiction models soon. See you around! ~ Christopher

Hello! Dioramas with brick-built horizon and sky always catch my attention. The photo looks really great with your background, and my favbbourite detail is the use of the big rock top as moon. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello there! I think that's a really great digital creation! I especiialy like the lances to create the half-round mosaic for the huge front window. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! You packed a whole lot of fantastic things to discover in your beach diorama. I took quite some time until I caught most of them. I especially liked the small Sphinx sculpture. Everything great! ~ Christopher

Hello! You're ultra quick today! I always like using those clickit rings when I have engines that are between 1 and 2 studs in width, like for the minifig head as engine. You'll find this technique on several models of the collection. See you around, ~ Christopher

Hello everyone! After a busy week, it's my pleasure to share the latest mini model with you. Among the new ship types of the Clone Wars animated TV series you will also find the so-called Republic Light Cruiser (reference link). This is a small cruiser, way smaller than the Venator and Acclamator. The design is kind of a hybrid bewteen a Venator (general wedge shape) and Consular Space Cruiser (engine block). It appears in the episode "Grievous Intrigue" (second season). The bricked model was a bit tricky as there's a gap in the wedge shape in the front section. Furthermore the wedge tips are very sharp in the front. Thus, the most convenient method was to create it with slopes attached in snotty fashion instead of using wedge plates. Here are the images. As always, click on the images to get all views plus the instructions. That's it for today. Thanks for stepping by and enjoy your week-end! Yours Christopher.

Hello! This is very good! The techniques you used work perfectly here. I might have one minor contruction tip if allowed. The back fin seems too short. It should be slightly longer than the straight part of the wings (the tile plate in your model). But this may vary depending on different source materials. Otherwise it's a pretty nice model. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! An interesting starship design. Asymmetric vessels are always a challenge. Browsing the entire gallery including the rear shots, my favourite details are the transparent letter boxes on the rear of the cockpit. I furthermore think that the vessel could need a few more trans-neon-green highlights, for example for the cannons and sensors. The lime green is otherwise a bit too dominating in my eyes. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! A quite good attempt at the rotorcraft, especially considering your limited parts stock. I like the use of the otherwise not so useful Rock Raiders cockpit which works fine here. I can imagine that with increasing parts stock you will refine and perfection your ship. Furthermore I think you chose the right forum. The licensed forum is for themes where TLC holds a license. There is an "Avatar" license but this refers to a different series with the same name than the movie (Avatar Sets). But for the recent movie by James Cameron TLC does not (yet) hold a license when I'm not mistaken. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! I remember a BrickShelf gallery with several mismold pieces, which you can access here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=12182 Maybe this will give some idea of what types of mismold are common among newer pieces. Cheers, ~ Christopher -
Hello Adrian and welcome to these fine boards! It's apretty little scene you've created. It has lots of nice details making it an authentic jungle. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! Quite an agile character. I like the use of both type of 1x2 clip plates (clip attached to 1-wide and 2-wide side) for the torso of the figure. The animal tails as arms are also a good idea. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! I don't see sculptures that often here, so I am pleased to see these. Attaching plates vertically around a centered studs-on-all-sides core works perfectly here to get a round shape. The clip plates as finish of the clothes towards the floor look extremely good. Cheers, ~ Christopher -
Hello there! I guess everything has already been said. But I am also impressed by your creation. It's great to see how you managed to use many of the building techniques of the 10030 Star Destroyer set like the use of magnets to attach the wedge plates to build your very own and original version of a Super Star Destroyer. Well done and thanks for sharing, Christopher

Hello! That's a lovely bricked version of the scene portraied. Those little characters are really cute and well-built in brick. You really managed to get as many details as possible from the original in your design. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! That's a really great ship! I like that it's not a straight construction but has many angles in the main body. Furthermore I appreciate that you didn't kill all studs by placing tiles everywhere. The studs contribute to the design. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! A ncie building with an original use of the laser cannon bars. The images seem a bit blurry. You gain a little more sharpness if you resize your images to let's say 600-800 pixels in width. Cheers, ~ Christopher
