  1. Hello everybody, let me use this as a chance to thank everyone, staff and community for the great atmosphere on these forums. I can't imagine a better place for presentation and discussion of MOCs and the exchange of ideas. I enjoyed this very much over the last year, and I am glad to tell you a bit more about me in my brand new "About Me" page! A great feature, thank you. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  2. Hello! That's a really funny and original idea. It's especially ironic that people of all fractions come together to do something peacefully and unexpected like flower arrangements. And by the way, that's an intresting way designing a Micro X-Wing. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  3. Yes, indeed. Why not. Thank you. Hello again! I updated the model according to your wishes. Orange has been removed, too. Thanks everyone for the constructive input. New images are online in the topic starter post. Instructions will be online as soon as moderated by BrickShelf. If you don't want to wait, click the homepage link in my signature to grab them. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  4. Hello, and thanks for the review which is very detailed and helpful. Personally, I think this version is better than the earlier version (set 4489). The proportions are more accurate and the head is much closer too the original. However there's still a large gap between head and body, and the legs - as efficient as they may be - look a bit too labile with the thin knee joints. But all in all it's quite an adequate version Cheers, ~ Christopher
  5. Hello! An interesting design. It has some nice features which definitely identify it as a stealth vessel. The use of two of the 3x4 pyramidal wedges is pretty good here. If I may suggest I would (although the sticker fit well ti the colour scheme) replace those two 2x3 slopes by two 4x2 wedge triples to give it an even better stealth look. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  6. Hello! That's really a unique design! The bent antennas give it a really organic and living look. The use of Bionicle pieces in front and rear is also quite original. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  7. Hello! Again, an outstanding addition for your Fabuland town! There are many things I like here. For example the columns with the door rail plates. It's a great example of how to make an efficient decoration to a column with simple pieces. Furthermore I appreciate that you used single 1 x X plates for the stage planks instead large plates. This fits well together with brick-built walls. It woul be great to see a scene together with yout Trolley train wagon. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  8. Hello! That's a great sculpture! Attaching an agled head to the main torso is quite challenging I guess. The hair decoration using the new 1x2 clip plates works quite decently here. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  9. Hello! A great brick-built creature with an inventive use of minifigure pieces. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  10. Hello! An great example for alternative use of big unique pieces. The quarter dome fits into your concept excellently. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  11. Hello! The additiona blue ornaments under arch above the door fit in perfectly. And it's nice to see that large octagonal dome piece included. The way you used it let it appear like a long lost original Fabuland piece. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  12. Hello! It's fantastic to see those old elements again! I can remember those from years ago. What I really find impressive is the combination of Fabuland pieces with conventiona bricks which are used in such well thought out manner that they look like Fabuland elements. The green gate for example. They fire car is an eycatcher itself as well. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  13. Hello again! This is going to be a real discussion now. That's great! Yeah, okay, I understand now. Yes you are absolutely correct. But doesn't it work out nicely? It only works because of the new handle plates. They let you attach two clip plates without any gap. Ugh, yeah. Caught me. It's true. Let me share a miniature building trick with all of you now. A 2x5 wedge plate would have been optimal. Because there's a slight gap bewteen the two wings. To realize this with the methods given, I had to attach something in front of the wedge plates to induce a gap between the wings. Door rail plates were one of the few possibilities. Now why in orange? Well, it's a bit tricky to explain. It's manipulating the eyes. At least it works for me. Let me explain further. If the door rails plates are grey they look like a naturtal extension to the wings. This then gives the wings an odd look, because they suddenly go straight forwards again instead of narrowing further. If you now use a completely different colour, like orange, they don't look like a natural part of the wings, and so you only see the narrowing of the wings to the front. As well as the gap between them. I know it's a weak explanation. You could also say 'I thought it looked better that way'. I am aware of the "cheating", and it makes me feel bad. Almost. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  14. Hello! A very sparkling-looking living room you created here. Everything is so shiny. What fascinates me most is something different however. There are no studs on the floor where you would expect them, but they are on the walls instead where you would not expect them. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  15. Hello! Very sleek and authentic looking vehicle! It should be able to access all the low caves perfectly. The brick-built digger bucket impresses me most. A triumph over the prefabricated ones. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  16. Hello again, and thank you for the friendly comments! It's indeed a compromise between the scales of the two official models, and thus there are no collisions. First, they should be vertical, not horizontal as in my model. Second, no they're not necessarily black. It's an illusion because the gaps between the fins are so deep that they appear to be black. See here for example (Battle of Hoth). Call it artistic freedom. PS @ gotoAndLego: A friendly emoticon or 'hello' is much appreciated as it helps me to interpret posts better, rather than just bolting in a blame.
  17. Hello everybody! It's my pleasure to share a new mini model with you today. One of the last missing vehicles from the Original Trilogy in my collection is the Rebel Snowspeeder, which probably got its name due to its use by Rebel Alliance during their stay on the ice planet Hoth. It saw major action during the Battle of Hoth against Imperial Forces. The speeder itself is a modification by Rebel Alliance Technicians of the T-47 airspeeder to cold climate. Several other versions exist, for example for dry desert or moistly swamp climate. I really like the official micro version of the Snowspeeder from 2003. As a fact of respect to that unique building technique, I came up with a completely different and also unique technique for this version of the Snowspeeder which is slightly wider (being 7 studs in width) than the official version. This, however, made construction difficult, as you have to attach two angled wings around a one-stud-wide main body. The construction below the wings is asymmetric, something I usually try to avoid, but it works decently as you cannot spot it. To see the secret you have to look at it from the bottom or study the instructions. EDIT: Images have been updated. Thanks for your input! EDIT: Images have been updated. Thanks for your input! That's all for now. Thank you for your interest and stepping by! Have a great week! ~ Christopher
  18. Hello! It's nice to see so many different facial expression for this minifigure. Furthermore, the roof technique with those minifigure legs is outstanding and very original! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  19. Hello! A great snapshot! You've caught all movements in one well-placed image. I wonder what the pilots can do to rescue their vehicle? The tank looks very heavy. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  20. Hello! This already looks excellent, and I think this is going to be an outstanding diorama once finsihed. The monument looks nice with the TECHNIC® pieces. On the list for your further additions on the diorama, I would like to add some spotlights around the monument to light it up during the night. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  21. Hello! That is truly an impressive recreation of the Munificient-class Star Frigate. The details for the bridge and the fins look very nice. I've been wondering if you could provide some more images from different perspectives. A ship big like this deserves more images. For example the heavy turbolaser cannons mounted to the front or the engine block would be interesting. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  22. Hello! The helicopter is pretty good! The construction with slopes and wedges works excellently here, and the windscreen sits bewteen perfectly. Furthermore the inverted landing gear with studs down and the 1x2 cruved bricks is very clever and looks great. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  23. Hello! You are right, it really makes you smile. A very funny little scene with a great authentic-looking supermarket. Have you tried making the shopping cart in darg gray? The black one is harder to recognize on the image at a first glance and dark gray would stand out from the black tiles on the floor. And the more you can see at a first look, the more interesting people will find it. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  24. Hello! Pretty nice living quarters. However, I am missing C-3PO. He is always great for having fun with. Maybe you can add him somwhere with hands in the air, hysterically complaining that no one is tidying up and the house owner uses weapons in te kitchen. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  25. Hello! That's a very original idea, and all of your twelve vignettes are quite creative in their own way. Looking at some of them makes you really feel scared, for example the pumpkin kid manipulating his little cousins with a knife or grandfather time who leaves a trace of death on his way. Cheers, ~ Christopher
