Hello everybody, it's my pleasure to share this classic pirate ship moc with you. It's built in the style of the classic pirates theme, 3rd wave from 1996, and is intended an additional playset for that series. The color scheme matches the larger 6289 Red Beard Runner, with a red/dk.gray hull, blue cabin with yellow/white window, and a skull as rear window. Have a nice day, and see you soon! [MOC] A 'midsized' ship added to my fleet...
Legostein replied to jan kusters's topic in Pirate MOCs
Hello! I like it as I am also a fan of small ships and boats. Regarding your quote above I guess you were mistaken, as the 14 x 5 x 2 boat is the small standard rowboat which is towed to your mid-sized ship, which uses the 18 x 8 x 2 1/3 hull. This one is more rare but allows for a larger variety of mid-sized ships. Well done! -
Hello! I have a faible for underwater creations. Your creature looks quite cute! It may be discovered one day in the endless deepths of our oceans. Cheers, ~ Chris

Hello everybody! Let's finish the series of small hulled support ships for their larger official flagships. As usually, they're designed with the classic pirate sets style in mind to serve as playset additions to the pirate theme. We will start with the "Imperial Support Ship" sialing along the "Imperial Flagship" (set 6274). The only sails possible to get the correct colors for the flagship's sails are those of the Imperial Trading Post Vessel. Rotating cannon included of course! We will then conclude with the "Snake's Tooth Sloop" assisting the "Skull's Eye Schooner" during its pirate adventures. It had a white snake as figurehead and two latin sails of different size. The color scheme is the same as for the flagship vessel. Thanks for your time and interest, and have a good time! ~ Chris

[MOC] The "Caribbean Ribbit" (small hull boat)
Legostein replied to Legostein's topic in Pirate MOCs
Hello again everybody, thank you again for your interest and your efforts (especially for the image editing). It was exactly my intention to build classic playsets that would fit into the official series. I think it's time to finish the series by adding the last two ships. See you around! ~ Chris -
Hello again everybody! Here is another smull hull boat called "Dragon of the Black Seas". The name was given by the yellow figurehead dragon, and the flagship it is serving (the Black Seas Barracuda 6285). It is a fast attack and capure vessel that usually accompanies its larger flagship. Colors and design elements were chosen to make it look like an additional playset for the original classic pirates theme. The boat also features a rotating cannon mounted on its bow. Have a good start into the new week! ~ Chris

[MOC] The "Caribbean Ribbit" (small hull boat)
Legostein replied to Legostein's topic in Pirate MOCs
Hello again, and thank you for your comments! I am glad you like the litte boat. Be sure to expect more of these. Of course I am aware of Classic Pirates. But unfortunately I do not have a facebook account, so I gladly accept your assistance for posting the images there. Thank you and see you soon! ~ Chris -
Hello everybody! This is my first topic started in the pirates section, and I hope everything will be fine. My main interest are playsets from the "classic" pirate era started in the year 1989 (and goes until 1997 in my pirate world). This is why I like to create additional playsets that resemble the style of this era. I am happy to introduce the "Caribbean Ribbit" to you. It's a small supply ship that goes along the larger "Caribbean Clipper" (set 6274). It features comparable design elements to suit well as a playset for the other sets of the series. It features also a full rotating cannon. As figurehead a small yellow frog was used (yellow animals are somewhat rare to find) which also gave the vessel its name. Thank you for your time, and have a great day! I am glad to be here! ~ Chris Here is an updated image:

Hello! Most parts are from set 21205: Battel Towers. It looks like it had been manually expanded with more elements. Cheers, Chris

Hello! The shelf behind your town layout on the fourth image looks still pretty empty. With a layout that large I would have guessed it's filled up with brick boxes. Cheers, Chris

Hello there! A real combination of strength and endurance! I like the two-seated cockpit. And you managed to make the color scheme of yellow/red looking good (which is one of the most difficult combinations in my eyes). Cheers, Chris

Hello! That's a very harmonic look of a foreign planets plant life! It's always difficult to design shapes and colours in your mind to give it the right space touch. You did perfectly fine here! Cheers, Chris

Hello! A very original and unconventional part use! I like it when this works and turns out really well. In particular, it's quite smooth how the large golden weapon pieces slide between the fins of the boat hull. Cheers, Chris

Hello! I like that the classic space spirit is kept alive here while we are still waiting for a new proper space theme. Good job! Cheers, Chris

[MOCs] Creator 31066 Space Shuttle: Additional models
Legostein replied to Legostein's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Hello again, and thank you for your comments! Of course instructions are available as usually. We're just waiting until the BrickShelf gallery with the instructions has been moderared... Meanwhile you can drop me a personal message and I will send you a file with the instructions. Cheers, Chris -
Hello everybody! It's been a while since my last creative input here, my apologies. Thus I am very happy to share something with you again. Besides mini model building, I am also a great fan of alternate building with the 3in1 Creator sets. These often come with a great parts variety and are a great source of inspiration. I very much like building alternate models with the whole parts of these sets to go beyond the official builing proposals, but not so this time! Today I would like to show you what can be done with the leftover pieces once you built one of the official building proposals. The set 31066 Space Shuttle Explorer was released in the year 2017 and unfortunately already disappeared from the market. However it is still widely available via online shopping. The set contains 274 pieces plus 12 extra parts, and has instructions for 3 main models: Space Shuttle (no leftover pieces) Surface Station (97 leftover pieces) 6-wheeled Rover (127 leftover pieces) Looking at the big number of leftover pieces, a new idea comes to mind: Additional models from the leftover pieces instead of new alternate models! The idea was to create an entire small space theme becasue there was none in the year 2017. Of course this entire project seems meaningless with regards towards the new official city space theme released in the new catalogue 2019. But I will share the general idea with you anyway. Image 1: Primary model - Space shuttle, no leftovers. Image 2: Secondary Model - Surface Station, 97 leftover pices! Image 3: Space Hopper built from the leftover pieces of the official surface station model. Image 4: Space Hopper and Surface Station. Image 5: Secondary Model - 6-wheeled Rover, 127 leftover pices! Image 6: Communications Antenna built from the leftover pieces of the official Rover model. Image 7: Communications Antenna and Rover. Image 8: The complete space theme consisting of 3x set 31066. So when you build a different model besides the primary model, have a look at the leftover pieces, there's lots of potential in them! Have a good time and happy building! ~ Chris

Creator 31006: 4 in one - Build a Starship Enterprise!
Legostein replied to Legostein's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Hello again, and thank you very much fopr the kind comments! This shows me my intention was successful. That's exactly my mission with these creator alternatives. To build the unexpected out of it. Cheers, ~ Christopher -
Hello everybody! It's been a while since my last Star Wars mini model has been posted here, thus I think it's time that we move along. Today I'd like to share an Y-Wing Starfighter with you. Due to the complicated engine fuselage, this is a particular hard to build model with increasing difficulty the smaller you get by maintaining all details. I hope you will enjoy the following images. See you soon with more new mini models! Cheers, Christopher

Hello! Very realistic modeling of those whales! What impresses me most is the motion you can see in the tail and fin. It was very clever to build two of them, each of them exactly in the turning point of forward propelling position of tail and fin. This way you can really "see" them swimming forwards. Cheers, Christopher

Hello everybody! Sometimes the question is raised why there is no Star Trek™ LEGO®. I would like to present a possibility to you how you can go to your local toy store, buy an official set, but go home with a Star Trek model, instead. This works out in form of an additonal alternate model of Creator Set 31006 - Highway Speedster. It's a model from this year, so you will have no difficulties aquiring this one. It consists of 286 pieces. Building instructions can be downloaded of course! When building alternatives I usually have two rules in my mind. - Don't let it look too much of a patchwork - Use as many pieces as possible The result this time was a Starship Enterprise model with clear deisgn lines, and an appropriate stand. Unfortunately it only uses about half of the pieces available. Sometimes that happens but usually the two official alternatives to the main model also use much lesser pieces. So here we go! Building instructions can be donwloaded directly from my homepage: http://st.deckdesigns.de Thanks for your time and interest! Yours Chris.
