  1. Hello! First, let me thank you all of you for your help and assitance. I now booked my flights. They will bring me to Heathrow where there are plenty of express busses, two of which also go directly to Windsor. See you there soon! ~ Christopher
  2. Hello! In my ongoing series of original LEGO® space theme minimizations, I'd like to present another set from Classic Space to you. It's the unnamed set 1593. This set is a hybrid of sets 6929 - Starfleet Voyager and 6880 - Surface Exporer and can be made using only pieces of these sets. When merge the names we get the name "Starfleet Explorer" which desribes the ship nicely, and this particular name has not been used for an official space set. Okay, so back to topic. Set 1593 consists of the main ship, with a small surface vehicle attached to the back, and a small radio station. The minimized version features all of these details. You can even stably attach the small vehicle (which is pretty ugly in both, original set and minimized set ) >>> Click here for building instructions! <<< That's it for today, thanks for stepping by, and have a great sunday! Yours Christopher. -------------------- Space Miniaturization Quick Links: --------------------
  3. Hello! I pretty much like the way how the 1x1 slopes smoothly go over into the windscreen. Nice construction! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  4. Hello! Another great addition to your town! As already mentioned the inverse sloped windows are a nice detail. When i read the title of this topic, I thought you finally had begun to build cars for your town. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  5. Hello! Yes, I miss them, too. When I came in the right age for real playing with sets and realising what they are, Classic Space had already been over, some rests of Futurons were still available, but a new theme with fancy neon green glasses was then available. So I grew up with M:Tron, Blacktron II and Ice Planet. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  6. Hello! Great! That's exactly what I was looking for when having read the review of the new tripod set of the alien attack theme. Your leg constructions is truly unique. You used those bulky bricks with hinge ball very well! Cheers, ~ Chrisotpher
  7. Hello! That's a really massive starship! The interior details are pretty cool. How many sections did you plan to do until the starship is finsihed? Cheers, Christopher
  8. Hello! Great review, thank you. As already mentioned, this set reminds me, too, back to the old Science Fiction "War of the Worlds". I sense a nice diorama with these sets coming soon. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  9. Hello! A very complex build with many angles and brick-built hinges. Quite impressive! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  10. Hello!

Congratulations! Bold red letters suit you very well! :)

    Cheers, Christopher

  11. Hello! It's simply lovely! It let's you dream of a life on a distant planet. The second spiral piece for the utility robot works out fantastic. You can really "see" the droi jumping around. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  12. Hello! A nice little layout. It provides the right apocalyptic feeling, and that power pole is really great! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  13. Ah sorry, my bad. It seems you're right about Vader's TIE. I am just not that familiar with the UCS much, as I am more into the smaller scales. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  14. Hello again, and finally after three more email conversations I have the booking confirmation. Yay! Now I am heading for a flight ticket. Or does anyone from Germany go by train and ferry? Cheers, ~ Christopher
  15. Hello, thank you for the further comments. I am glad to see you appreciate the instructions. The official LEGO® sets don't follow any particular scale. They are not to scale with each other. Every model has its own scale. For example the large ISD (10030) is 0.96 meters while the original in the movie is 1600 meters. That makes a scale of 1:1667. You can also calculate the scale in studs instead of meters, like fo the MIDI ISD (8099) here. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  16. Hello again. It's unsatisfying, frustrating and disappointing. I did not hear back although the employee told me to mail back immediately. Nothing happened. Except this agency has my credit card information. I will call them again tonight. If they don't get back to me, I won't do another attempt. Thank you for the offer. I will give it another try tonight, and then we'll see.
  17. Hello! Exactly. It has always been my intention to provide inspiration and building fun for fellow fans. Yes, that's what I should do. I just wanted to give the new line a good start with all prequel models I had thus far. See you around, ~ Christopher
  18. Hello, I am glad to answer your questions of course. Of course, I have a parts list. I could PM you the list this week-end (I currently do week-end building due to real-life job far away). I am extremely reluctant to post parts lists openly. I even did not want to post the instructions for the new series because some unfair people keep on stealing my mini mocs for their movie purposes. This really drives me mad. As soon as you post a credit-reminder in their profiles they start calling you names. Annoying. I was one step before deleting all mocs and instructions. So, if anyone wants a parts list, please drop me a line. There are so many strange additional comic starship classes, that I have no intention doing these, sorry. However, I do already have a Vitory Star Destroyer. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  19. Hello again, thank you for all the nice comments. It's great to see that you appreciathe the new concept. Now to answer two freqzently asked questions, no it is not to scale with the new Super Star Destroyer set, as has already been mentioned. But yes, I will definitely post more MIDI ISD-scaled ships. BUt please remember, these are much more difficult to build and much more rare. So don't expect one new every week. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  20. Hello! That's a very uncommon and unexpected combination! Nonetheless it looks great and the two sections merge smoothly into each other! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  21. Hello! What a funny and original idea! Imperial guards in a different way. And the building as well as the shuttle look fantastic! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  22. Hello everybody! Today I am a bit excited, because it's something brand new and special I will show to you now. Regarding the fact that an Imperial Star Destroyer is 1600 meters long, and the official MIDI ISD by LEGO® is 31 studs in length, this gives a scale where 1 studs equals 50 meters (it would be exact if set 8099 was 32 studs, but it is still a very accurate approximation). With I'd like to define the MIDI ISD Scale: 1 stud = 50 meters... ... and start my new MIDI modelling line with all models being to scale with the official MIDI Star Destroyer 8099. Hence all models are to scale with each other. So let's begin fleet building, and instructions are provided free as usual! ---------------------------------------------- Let's see some fleet pictures first before we go into detail for each vessel. ---------------------------------------------- First to be shown is the Venator Attack Cruiser from "Revenge of the Sith". The construction was pretty tough, as it required angles everywhere to realize the dagger-shape. The first image is the size comparison with the MIDI ISD (8099). You see how tiny the Venator is compared to the much more powerful Star Destroyer. ---------------------------------------------- Next we want to have a look at the Acclamator Assault Ship from "Attack of the Clones". The first image again shows the size comparison with the MIDI ISD (8099). ---------------------------------------------- Another ship of the Old Republic Fleet is the Arquitens Light Cruiser from the "Clone Wars" TV series. As no official length is known yet for that ship, the scale was guessed according to the series material. First image is as usually the size comparison with the MIDI ISD (8099). ---------------------------------------------- The last ship for today is from the opponent side, the Munificent Star Frigate from "Revenge of the Sith" again is exact MIDI ISD scale. You know it already, the first image is the size comparison with the official MIDI ISD (8099). ---------------------------------------------- Okay, that's it for now. Please keep in mind that building at pre-defined scale is much harder and also very limited. Ships smaller than 300 meters can hardly be built, as this would be less than 6 studs in length, and thus reconizability will decrease. So there won't be that many MIDI models as there are MINI models. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  23. Hello! Thank you for your comments, they're highly appreciated. I remeber seeing those on BrickShelf already. They feature some familiar looking building techniques. Looking forwards seeing them here! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  24. Hello! You captured the typical anime style very well in your video, and you obviously made a big effort creating it. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  25. Hello! I'd love to read the review and look at the images, but with all due respect, please resize those pictures. There is really no need for web pictures to be bigger than 800x600 pixels. Your pictures are several thousand pixels wide and take ages to load. Feel free to have a look at the Tutorials Index to learn how to optimize your images. Thank you and best greetings, ~ Christopher
