  1. Hello! A nice little room layout! It has many small details giving it the right feeling of the Harry Potter theme. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  2. Hello everybody! Before I start posting midi models of the classic trilogy, let me quickly share this one with you. It's a small cruiser from the (very) Old Republic, common in the KOTOR (Knight of the Old Republic) era. The Hammerhead Cruiser (reference link) has already the red/white colour scheme thatis common for Old Republic vessels as we know them from the movies. Thus it's possible that some of these sturdy vessels are still present during the Clone Wars. This model is part of the MIDI model line where 1 stud = 50 meters (see About Me page for more MIDI models) and is to scale with the MIDI Star Destroyer (set 8099). >>> Click here fo all images and building instructions. <<< That's all for tonight! Have a good night everyone and see you around! ~ Christopher
  3. You're welcome! And also welcome to these fine boards. Enjoy your time here, and I will gladly send you some more tissues if necessary. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  4. Thank you everyone! I am glad you like the build and appreciate the uncommon techniques. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  5. Hello everybody! Since coming back from a wonderful event in Windsor, I am having so many inspirational ideas which I'd like to share with you. One result of these was another classic space set miniaturisation, this time for Classic Space set 6950 - Mobile Rocket Transport from 1982. The mini model is fully functional with rotating and turnable wheel pairs, launching pad and rocket. >>> Click here for building instructions <<< That's it for today. Thanks for stepping by. Have a great day, ~ Christopher -------------------- Space Miniaturization Quick Links:
  6. Hello! There's nothing wrong with small-scaled ships. I like these really. It's a good concept youre showing to us here. However the shape reminds me more of a passenger ship or a module-based transport ship. On a battlship the density of guns on the surface is usually higher. So, I'd recommend a fore gun tower as well. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  7. Hello! Yes, indeed, very impressive microscale starship! I like it a lot because of the use of unusual pieces like the oriental arch pieces and the large inverse pyramidal quadruple convex slope piece on the bottom. It is hiding very well and merges with the overal starship shape. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  8. Hello! Another great LDD redesign of a classic space set. It is very well done with a good design concept. Like your other redesigns of your series this one is slightly larger than the original and fits well together with your previous models. What I find a bit funny are the alternating black and yellow squares on the sides which give it a little "TAXI"-look. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  9. Thanks! That's too kind! :-)

  10. Hello everybody! Today I'd like to share something again in the "Licensed Forum". It's the infamous trigonal prismatic prison tower of Azkaban (click here for a reference image) which can shortly be seen in the movie "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix". The tricky thing about this building is it's trigonal shape with an inner court that is trigonal as well. In the end I used three big and three small old gray facet bricks for each layer. Hinge plates hold everything together. That's it for now. Thank you for your time and interest. See you around, ~ Chris
  11. Hello everbody! This first event I ever joined was unforgettable for me, too. It was truly inspirating meeting other people with the same interests. Three things I've learned: 1. Meeting people is much better than sitting in an isolated building room for years like I did. 2. The community will always help each other. 3. Always take the maximum bag size allowed by your airline to have more space to buy LEGO® sets. I am also glad everyone enjoys the photos. I would be happy to see other peoples photos as well to have some more views and perspectives. (I seem to be absent on most of the pictures taken by me ) Let me just quickly point out one picture. It is one of the very last ones taken spontaneously in the evening of our last day, where all of us had a great time with bricks and drinks. Seeing everonye being happy and having fun also brought a bright smile into the organisers' faces. So, thank you to all people who helped organising this exceptional event! It's been a pleasure being part of it and I am already looking forward to next year's event to meet you all again and also those who were not able to join this year. See you around, ~ Christopher
  12. Hello! A very accurate version of the snowtrooper speeder-bike. I think the biker has a better focus on the image with black background. The mirror effects are more appealing there, too. The constructions features sveral unusual clip-connections, and I guess it's pretty tricky to align the pieces correctly for the photo, especially for your selfmade corner tile in thr front. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  13. Hello! A well-designed pod-racer. Does using the submarine propellors of the aquatic sets mean that this pod-racer can go underwater as well? It would be a typical feature of MonCalamari vehicles. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  14. Hello, thank you everybody for your nice comments! I am aware that it's slightly out of proportion, but it's been a lot of fun building this and it's a pleasure sharing it. There is a reference image in the first post. I am sure you rembember the Rebel Medium Transports (that's how they are adressed in the movies, exact specification: Gallofree Yards GR-75 Transport) in the movies. Although they're not a main ship they can be seen throughout the fleet scenes in the classic trilogy (a smaller version GR-45 can even be seen in A New Hope on Tatooine). Cheers, ~ Christopher
  15. Hello everybody! Being back after an outstanding event in Windsor, I'd like to share some of the creativity we've had there with all of you. With a big thanks to the organisers for providing us with free creator and mini sets. The following Rebel Transport (reference link) only consists of pieces from sets 8033 (Mini General Grievous' Starfighter, 44 pieces) and Creator set 7805 ("Shark", 44 pieces). It uses 77 pieces of those two sets, and thus there are almost no left-overs. Building instructions can be downloaded here (900kB PDF file). Have fun building! Yours Christopher.
  16. Hello! All images of our group in the park and its attractions can be found here: Images of June 2nd 2011 - First day in the Legoland Park & Socialising Images of June 3rd 2011 - Visit in Windsor & Presentations Images of June 4th 2011 - Second day in the Legoland Park & Contests Have a great week! ~ Christopher
  17. Hello! Yesterday I took some personal impressions of the hotel complex and surrounding park. I compiled a small site as BrickShelf would be too slow for updates. June 1st 2011 - Arrival Day: Personal impressions of hotel and park Cheers, ~ Christopher
  18. Hello! Arrived I have. Are we going to meet for dinner tonight? If so, where and when? Cheers, ~ Christopher
  19. Hello! An interesting design concept. I think the windscreens work pretty well as cover for the boosters. The functional classic TECHNIC® steering system is also a nice feature. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  20. Hello! This will indeed be a big building eventually! When you spend as much love to details as you did for your previous creations, I have no doubt that this will be a fantastic creation. I already like the revolving door! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  21. Hello! To use the airplane wheel socket for stabilizing the pilot is simply brilliant! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  22. Hello everybody! Ah well. I have a bad feeling about this and probably also a bit of a bad conscience. Recently I announced my new MIDI model project where eveything is to scale with the official MIDI Star Destroyer (LEGO® set 8099). As 1 stud equals 50 meters here, many common and popular starships from the Star Wars Galaxy will either be to small to build or very tiny. That is exactly the case with this model. It only consists of 10 pieces, looks simple and is a primitive buid. But it is as accurate as possible in that special scale. Maybe it's of interest for those people among you who decided to build a MIDI fleet. Anyway, here are the images. >>> All images and instructions (if needed at all) can be found here. <<< I hope you're not too disappointed with this model. Bigger and more accurate models are soon to come, promised! Have a great week, ~ Christopher
  23. Hello! That's a really felicitous diroama! Everything seems right here. The motion of the figures caught in the picture. The non-lego effects like the lightning and sands are used in a perfect manner. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  24. Hello! Creating realistic-looking underwater scenes is quite difficult in my eyes. You did an excellent job with your big transparent jellyfish. The way you build it really creates the illusion that it's floating through the water layers smoothly. A nice underwater diorama! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  25. Hello! Simply nice your plane! It's in a harmonic building style that would easily fit into any of the current and past adventure themes. I like the use of the modified plates for the exhaust and propeller holder. Cheers, ~ Christopher
