  1. Hello! I also recommend having a look at the following topic, especially at the last text paragraph. EB User Groups and Tags Cheers, ~ Christopher
  2. Hello! M:Tron was and still is one of my most favourite space themes. I grew up with those, and I loved the new trans neon colour. I especially liked the 6833 Beacon Tracer for its windscreen which is the only one printed with the logo. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  3. Hello! It's really a sleek and streamlined design with a great use of large wing pieces. One thing that looks disturbing in my eyes, however, is the 2x2 tile sitting on the nose of the ship. I think it would suit the look and also the aerodynamics much better if you left that tile off. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  4. Hello! These are most definitely the torsos of the series "Extreme Team". Click here for a minifigure list of that series or here for a setlist of that series. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  5. Hello! This is a very interesting topic. Let me share my thoughts with you. For me, the abbreviations MOC and AFOL are pronounced as a single word. Many former abbreviations are used as stand-alone words these days. Let me give two examples: Laser formerly: LASER (all capital letters) was Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation Radar formerly: RADAR (all capital letters) was Radio Detection And Ranging I guess all of you use these example words as one single stand-alone word and pronounce it accordingly. Some abbreviations, however stayed abbreviations with capital letters, mainly due to the difficulties to pronounce it as a single stand-alone word. For example... DVD was and still is: Digital Versatile Disc HTML was and still is: HyperText Markup Language As in our case the abbreviations MOC and AFOL allow for single word pronounciation, I personally also do it that way, and I personally also would no longer write these in capital letters, but instead Moc and Afol. I think the more common and popular these abbreviations will become, the more will they be used as stand-alone words. Well, these were my thoughts. Have a great week, Christopher.
  6. Hello and welcome to the forums here! Those animated building instructions are really fantastic and so are the renderings. As I use POV-Ray sometimes as well, may I ask which version you use of the program as I sometimes have problems with the newer releases. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  7. Hello! Assembling such large models is very impressive! How long does it take to re-build a model like this virtually? Cheers, ~ Christopher
  8. Hello everbody! My vote goes for LDraw/MLCad. And here is why: When I started making building instructions for my models, it was the only really capable tool available. I agree that installation and getting it to run properly was very difficult at the start. And to learn how to operate the program is really not easy in the beginning either. I spent months learning how to use it correctly. But this pays off in the end, and you will be able doing instuctions and virtual models quite conveniently with some training. But I highly respect LDD and its supporters. It has really improved a lot since its original launch, and became a very valuable alternative for LDraw/MLCad. Of course I tried it out, but it turned out that this is simply not my preferred tool. I guess it's difficult to switch after having used the other program for years because everything works a bit different there. So let me quickly summarise my choice for LDraw/MLCad The Good: It's a free, versatile, and potent program with nearly unlimited parts and building possibilities. The Bad: It will need some training until you know how to use it properly, but then it's simply great. The Ugly: Installation and get it to run properly needs some patience. I will gladly help if anyone has problems with installation or operation of MLCad. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  9. Hello! What I like most here is the nice effect of inverted arch over the window next to a conventional arch over the door. I think that it would even look better if you did not fill up the arch over the door with plates but instead left it empty. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  10. Hello! A very well-done representation of this difficult starship shape. I always considered the bird-like appearance of the "Firefly" a very difficult to build shape. But you've done an excellent job in realising this unique form. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  11. Hello again! It really looks good in real-bricks, a much better perspective as the computer images. And you seem to have a really well-sorted and well-equipped building room. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! Truly a pleasure for ones eyes! The entire layout is tremendously well designed, and the perfection goes into every little detail you added. What is really remarkable besides the great building style is the great concept idea itself! It's truly something unique. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  13. Hello! Those characters are really funny and very clever designs. I especially like the right one where you used the motor block piece for the lower part of the face. Fantastic! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  14. Oh, thanks! I did not realise that when I commented on the nice plane. It mas a pleasure to me. And I would be glad for more of these nice adventure creations. Cheers, ~ Chris
  15. Hello Ralph! As a fan of jets you have to like this! It's again an amazingingy complex structure resulting in the perfect shape. The camouflage pattern works pretty good, and I am most fascinated by the cockpit. For me a cockpit is one of the things that make a vehicle unique and recognizable. The sub strcutures to the cockpit screen with those bars is excellent as well as the rounded side elements. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  16. Hello! These are quite original alternate models. The mini set 4916 has really a good parts selection for creating such great animals like you did. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  17. Hello! A very original design! Using the boat belly-up works out pretty well here, and I see you again used your favourite tan arches. It's also a pretty good idea sticking the steering wheels on the pneumatic T-pieces. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! That's an impressive combination of clips, hinges and bars into a well-looking starship design! The great greebly layout gives the impreesion of a quite large vessel. Well done! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  19. Hello! It's always a challenge to design something that lets itself transform into a completely different build. I can imagine that it needed a lot of puzzling to get all the hinges right to not block the transformation process. You've done a really nice transforming robot with all movements going smoothly from what I can see. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  20. Hello! What amazes me most is the parts choice you did for the impressive guard. You've turned wheels, dishes, hoses, railings and many other unconventional pieces into a great statue. Very clever and original! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  21. Hello! That layout is very impressive! You are using the big panel elements very well to construct a futuristic building for which could be related in near future. You've also spent a lot of time (and tiles ) for the interior layout which is a very nice layout. Finally, I also like the exterior with the orange sand which is typical for images of planet Mars. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  22. Hello! That's a fantastic layout! Also the concept of a direct mining in an asteroid is well thought out. The construction site features many nice details. What I like very much is that you are showing different methods of mining throughout your scene, like laser or explosives. Well done! ~ Christopher
  23. Hello! Thank you very much for your kind comments! I am glad you like the functionalities of this vehicle. The hardest thing was to get the black wheels. Fortunately the new racer set 8304 had four of them, so I quicly bought two of them. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  24. Hello! A very nice starship design with the typial wedge shape of the Empire. Just pity that it crashed. I hope enough crew members survived to repair the ship. I look forward to see the entire ship design soon. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  25. Hello everybody! Thank you all for the nice comments! Good you pointed out where that curved red slope came from, as I did not have the original sets either. I usually browse the BrickLink catalogue for useful pieces and directly order these from there. Cheers, ~ Christopher
