Hello! Amazing how you shaped out this sculpture with basic bricks. Considering the fact that most smurfs are similiar to ech other except for their unique faces, it would be great to see more of their family. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! The panorama windows all around the car are great, especially the solution for the windscreen. It represents the original very well! Cheers, ~ Christopher

Yep, that's what I like to see. Looking forward seeing more creatures. Cheers, Christopher

Aww you make me blush! Thank you. Working for TLC would be fun, but it is much more fun to share everything with you and the community. Cheers, ~ Chris

Hello! You've studied the insectoid anatomy well as your showing a really great and real looking insect body starship here. The eye construction with the perfect colours and reflecting effect is the real eye catcher here. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! A really unique design. Good piece usage, and I am also a fan of the trans bright green touches. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Thank you! You've analysed it very well! Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! It's a nice and easy to build Acklay. I guess you are referring to . The Reek is a different building style and much more complex. It's not out of this movie when I watched correctly. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! What I like best is the fact that this is made up almost only using basic elements and is till well recognizable. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! I like the typical gray colour of Imprial vehicles. It's suits your barge really well. I also second the call for smaller images. These are almost four thousand pixels in width with a size of 3MB per image. That results in slow loading even for fast connections. For web images file dimensions of 800 pixels in width is sufficient for all needs. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! A great presentation of this design skecth made in bricks! It's really accurate. I disagree. The cockpit works perfectly here in my opinion. As you can clearly see in the design concept, this prototype snowspeeder has a wedge shaped cockpit, unlike the later snowspeeder which has more a sloped cockpit screen. Thus the wedge-shaped cockpit screen is a great piece for these angles. All the best, ~ Christopher

Hello everybody, and thanks for all the nice comments. The sides are connected with hinge bricks, the thick ones that were used to fold up classic castles for example. And also the instructions are now available on BrickShelf (link updated in first post). Cheers, ~ Chris

Hello, and thank you! Yes that's the fun part of it when something new turns out to be an efficient solution, and others then can use it. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello, and thank you both of you! I am glad some people appreciate the alternatives. That index is really great! There's a lot of creativity to discover in that topic! Cheers, ~ Chris

Hello everybody! Today it's my pleasure to share a popular scene from "Star Wars: A New Hope" with you. It's the Great Temple of Yavin 4 where the rebels have their headquarters during the attack of the first Death Star. The Great Temple of Yavin 4 is an old Massassi Temple, a leftover of the ancient Massassi species who lived on Yavin 4 long before the Rebels came to the moon. The layout is a ziggurat, a step pyramid with terraces (ziggurats were popular in ancient Mesopotamia on Earth). The special thing about the Great Temple is that it has a pentagonal base which is very hard to build in bricks. It took a while once I had figured out a way to build a regular pentagon, and that's what I finally came up with: With this technique the Great Temple was finally formed. It comes complete with a new 7-piece micro X-Wing design. Click here for building instructions! That's it for now. Thank you for your time and interest. Have a great sunday! Yours Christopher.

Hello! What I like really much is the use of the otherwise not so popular pre-fabricated rock panels. In this case they work perfectly as you were able to stick so many crystals in the panels' hollow studs to create this wonderful atmosphere. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello everybody! Today I'd like to share a new alternative creator set model with you. Set 5763 "Dune Hopper" (click here for set reference) is a new Creator set of early 2011. It contains 137 pieces and only costs 9.99 EUR / 9.99 GBP / 12.99 USD. I have the set for some time now, but it took a while until I could come up with a decent alternative model. I must admit that I do not really like the original set. It is basically just another vehicle set, one of too many. On the other side, the alternative presented here ist just yet another flying machine which is what I usually turn car sets into. The Good, the Bad & the Ugly The Good: New set, thus good availablity, cheap price. The Bad: Yet another car creator set. The Ugly: Many TECHNIC pieces. Almost no transparent pieces. So here's what I came up with: A space glider that uses 117 of the 137 pieces available. That's more than the average piece count of the three original models. >>> Building instructions can be downloaded directly here. <<< That's it for now. Thanks for your time and interest! Have a great week-end, and see you around! Christopher

Hello! What a fantastic starship design! And it's also an original idea to design a recycling vessel. The concept and realisation is well thought out. Then there are furthermore all those individual details on the ship. The idea of featuring some combat damage is a good idea as well! Simply a pleasure to explore this vessel! Cheers, ~ Chris

Hello Ralph! This is really exceptional! It features all the details and efforts you apply to all your great vehicle mocs, like opening doors motor hatch, seats etc. Nonetheless you have managed to make a fully convertible car out of this. The resulting robot is an impressive design on itself, and it's nearly unbelievable that you can turn those two into each other! Thanks for sharing this with us! Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! A really outstanding ship in the Neo-Classic-Space style! The greebly main cylinder leading to the great cockpit construction is the core feature for me here. Cheers, ~ Christopher

Hello! I would like to suggest some additions for the glossary. I am not sure if someone already suggested these, but I think they would be an enrichment for our glossary. CAD Computer Aided Design LDD Lego® Digital Design(er) The official virtual building program by LEGO®. LDraw Lego® Draw The basis software with a huge parts library needed for CAD programs like MLCad. MLCad Mike's LEGO Computer Aided Design A virtual building program using the LDraw parts library. POV-Ray Persistence of Vision Raytracer A tool to create three-dimensional renderings. Cheers, Christopher

Hello! Being nominated for a prize is already great I think, so don't be sad. When you look at the gargantuan airship you really can see the time and effort you spent building it. All those curved slopes and arches make this an authentic looking and well designed airship which does justice to the original in the movie. Very well designed! Cheers, ~ Christopher
