  1. Hello! Another great addition to the steampunk world! The flying engines attached to the underside with the half barrels are a very original design as well as the goot use of the big dark red covers. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  2. Hello! A great representation of this popular and legendary engine! I remember the design very well from former days where I spent hours at station watching trains coming in and leaving again. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  3. Hello everybody! Today I'd like to show you something rather odd. When I was recently toying around with the Star Wars Mini Set 4495 - AT-TE Walker (reference link) a sudden stroke of inspiration hit me, and I came up with a Separatists Munificent Star Frigate (reference link) instead. The characteristic shape turned out well with the great parts variety in this little set, but unfortunately the colours are incorrect, showing the Old Republic emblem and colour scheme instead of the Separatists' one. Thus I think this is a pretty useless model. Buildin instrcutions finally online! I am sorry if I confused you with this contribution, but maybe you also find the inspirational benefit superior to the inappropriate colour scheme. Have a great week, ~ Christopher
  4. Hello! That's a great example of how to realise a complex shape with only using plates. Very well done! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  5. Hello everybody! As fourth mini model in this week, I'd like to present another neat starfighter from the Expanded Universe to you. It's the Sharp Spiral (reference image), a modified SoroSuub Cutlass-9 patrol fighter that serves as personal starfighter of Jedi Master Saesee Tiin in the computer game "Jedi Starfighter". The construction is a bit strange, as everything is studs-down. The reason why I chose this approach is that I wanted to realise the characteristic spherical cockpit for which the boat stud was the perfect piece. With that I am done for this week, and wish you a great sunday! I now need sometime to take photos of the next batch of models which also consumes a lot of time besides actual building. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  6. Hello! A very clean setup! Tan, blue and green make an excellent contrast with the cute black turtles. The green dots of fern seem to be still missing on the showcase image, but it's great you added them afterwards. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  7. Hello! They're very pretty looking little birds! I like the one best which partially rises his wings on the bench. Simply cute! Cheers, ~ Christpher
  8. Hello, these are some nice micro mechas. The colour schemes you chose for each of them are very nice. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  9. Hello! A while back we had an interesting topic with many stuck bricks and solutuions how to separate them. Parts that just can't be taken apart without swearing loudly Cheers, ~ Christopher
  10. Hello again, and thank you for the many nice comments! I am happy some of you remember Kyle Katarn and his ship, and I am also happy that even those of you who are not familiar with this part of the Expanded Universe appreciate the models. Thank you! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  11. Hello! This is a great version of Vader's TIE Fighter! It's a very complex LDD construction. I find it sometimes more hard to create something virtually than with real bricks, thus I can imagine your ard efforts to obtain this fighter. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  12. Hello everybody! Kyle Katarn is one of the more popular characters from the Expanded Universe, and so are his personal starships. I haven't come up with an appropriate Kyle Katarn minifigure yet, but I'd like to present his two personal starships to you today. -------------------- Kyle Katarns first starship was the Moldy Crow, a modified Corellian HWK-290 transport. It first appeared in the computer game Dark Forces and several others after that. It's an unusual design with many angles, and a cockpit that is more in the interior than at the front. This all amde this a tricky little thing to design. It's mostly studs down and studs to the front to attach the 1x1 slopes. -------------------- After the Moldy Crow was destroyed by crahs landing, it was replaced by the Raven's Claw, a fast and sleek looking courier ship. It first appeared in the computer game Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. The Raven's Claw has a similar cockpit design than the Moldy Crow, and two large engines. The tricky thing was to attach two pair of small wings to the outer side of each of the huge engines. -------------------- So that's all for today. It's been about starfighter-scaled starships today, but more complex capital ship constructions might be in reach which does not mean that those little transports are more easy to do. Have some nice days until week-end, and see you soon! ~ Christopher
  13. Hello! A great representation of the jedi council! I looks very accurate just like in the movie. And the photo backgroun technique you used gives it a very realistic look. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  14. Hello! Welcome to the Star Wars forum. I like the trans clear plate which indicates the captain being held up in the air. And it also reminds me that the LEGO® Vader minifigure is a bit smaller than he should be, otherwise the captain would be higher in the air. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  15. Hello! Those little vignettes are fantastic. They have the perfect movie feeling, and I guess it's just fun to have some essential scenes from the saga built in brick. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  16. Hello, and thank you for the comments. I am glad so many of you remember the ship from the series. More models very soon! See you around, ~ Christopher
  17. I am glad you appreciate your comments, but please no hero worship. Don't be proud on the comment of a particular person, rather be proud of the great model you have built! So, keep up the good work. We will definitely appreciate more creations like this here. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  18. Hello! What a great and detailed review! As always your review was a pleasure to read and funny as well. One thing I don't like for the new Naboo starfighters is the too bulky-looking part after the canopy where the astromech droid is seated in (even though they used curved bricks). But that's maybe too off-topic here, so back to topic. Fantastic review! Cheers, ~ Christopher
  19. Hello! Although I usually prefer real brick-built models (maybe you want to do this some day... ) this is a nice looking ship. As a little improvement I'd like to suggest to change the colour of the emergency boats, maybe to red/orange. It would add another colour, and give it a bit more contrast, rather than everything being white. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  20. Hello! A sleek looking ship there! It's great that you added so many technical details to make this a realistic minifigure-sized model. The old Fabuland antenna is one of my favourite details, however it seems to be missing on the first image. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  21. Hello! Indeed, Star Trek models are a bit rare lately, but that is nothing to worry about. I think Star Trek models have always been more rarely posted in the past. Nonetheless, you created an excellent shuttle here, with the joining front wedge plates being my favourite technique. It's also great to see the Star Wars Death Star trench screen in a Star Trek creation. Now you should try to create some nice Star Trek minifigures to pilot the shuttle. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  22. Hello! It's great that you added an alternative creation with your nice review. It's definitely an enrichment. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  23. Hello everybody! Watching the third season of the animated Clone Wars TV series, you will realise that the number of new ships and vehicles decreases somewhat. Hence I'd like to show something to you from the second season. The Coronet (reference link) is the personal space yacht of the mandalorian duchess Satine Kryze, and appears in the three mandalorian episodes in season 2. It's only seen shortly, the shape is pretty ugly, and the level of details seen in the series is limited. Unfortunately this is being reflected on the miniaturized model as well. I know it's not my usual buidling standard, but that's how it came out without getting too large. Building instructions (if anyone has the feeling to build this ) That's it for now. I have not posted many models recently, that's mainly because there are already two hundred of them, and further I somehow felt not like building recently. Hopefully this phase is over, and you can expect more models soon. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  24. Hello! That's a great addition to the Harry Potter series! I clearly prefer the brick-built version of the cottage, as it has a lot more body than the slightly pale LDD images. The interior details are great especially the chandelier. Cheers, ~ Christopher
  25. Hello! It's a great review, a pleasure to read, and featuring great images for a set which is not so great in my opinion. I admire the fact that all sets - may they be good or not - receive the same level of professionalism and devotion. Cheers, ~ Chris
