  1. Thanks for referring to this thread. Actually, the LXF-file shows how all MODs have been made compatible. I'm also maintaining a minimally playable version for which I have made instructions in terms of errata. These can be found here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=137567&view=findpost&p=2612511.
  2. Great job! Maybe the body is a bit too open at the rear side, but in general I like to be able to look through the body and see what's inside.
  3. Amazing car! Great job on the realistic suspension and I love the looks!
  4. Yes. Thanks for the tip! It's much better this way. It appears that my entry has been accepted! http://www.lego.com/en-us/rebrick/view-entry?c_id={D776AFA5-00A1-4F55-A7B3-6A07F5795B68}&a_id=c6b50bfb-76ae-4511-9ba8-c422d35d480d&sortEntry=false
  5. Thanks for all the compliments! I had this idea for the front side and couldn't leave it unused. I have most of the parts, but I don't have the tires, which are pretty important to get the looks right. But I've seen other LDD-only entries, so I'm quite confident this will work out fine. Unless they disqualify me again for not being the original designer of the Porsche signature
  6. I'm proud to present my Rebrick contest entry : LXF-file here.
  7. This will be my Rebrick entry : http://youtu.be/qqV0C7m8iAM LXF-file here.
  8. Good to know everything works okay in your build after applying these mods. Indeed good to get some feedback! You're welcome!
  9. Like this? I updated the images above.
  10. Good idea! I will add one.
  11. I guess I will be participating in the rebrick contest after all . LXF-file here.
  12. I knew it! What an obscure website that you're browsing
  13. Given your house-hold track record I assume you are talking about a Lego Technic ventilator . What motors are you using haha?
  14. Haha, I suppose a modern review can't do without a proper heat test . Btw, where others might put there models or MOCs on display, I store them in a box in the darkest and coolest place in the house. I'm affraid my parts will discolor.
  15. Just got confirmation that my ultimately playable version will be on display during the Bouwen met LEGO® stenen event from august 9 until august 11 (10am until 5pm) in Boekelo, The Netherlands. I won't be there myself, but my brother will be. He is one of the organizers of the event.
  16. In case you missed it, I already made the LXF-file and parts list of the ultimate version available. I will add these links to the OP soon. That's too much, but thanks! I think it's because we live in a very boring country (EDIT: Just like Danish people, so you would actually expect...). Btw, the only Porsche-reminder I will take with me on vacation is this video (I hate it when things move to the previous page so soon...)
  17. I will probably copy that one, although I do not really like the extra flat plates almost touching the steering wheel. If I can improve on that I will.
  18. Thanks! Not a complete guide, but I will summarize with pointers to the most important posts. The lockable doors are indeed on my wishlist. But I won't have time the rest of the summer I'm affraid. I also have an idea for a sway bar for the front suspension. Plenty ideas...
  19. Getting all gears and axles to rotate without friction remains to be a hassle, I can't take that away. Having trouble with 4th gear only is a bit odd. The problem should be somewhere inside the gearbox, which includes the area underneath the differential. 4th gear puts the least stress on the engine part of the drive train. Pay special attention to the red clutch gears, they need not sit tight, whether engaged or not.
  20. In either case - 1, 3, 2, 4 or 1, 2, 3, 4 - the gear sequence will follow a right-left-right-left or left-right-left-right pattern. Otherwise one of the orange paddles to the side of the gearbox would have to make a 180-degree step, which is clearly not the case. So the double engagement risk won't change because of this mod. It has also been suggested that the number of gears involved in transferring torque differs for the two different sequences. This is also not correct. The number of gears involved is exactly the same for each gear, regardless of the chosen gear sequence. None of the two mods you are referring to will improve the gear shifting mechanism. The step 5 mod will slightly reduce friction but still won't take the severe friction out of the gearbox itself. I strongly advice you to follow these guidelines: [MOD] 42056 Porsche 911 GT3 RS - Community-driven Errata.
  21. Also on rebrickable now: http://rebrickable.com/mocs/Didumos/42056-porsche-911-gt3-rs-unofficial-errata
  22. Thanks! Here are the pictures I made for the rebrick contest:
  23. Thanks, appreciate it. I have found great pleasure in modifying this set. I'm very happy with the result and it's great to know that my work turns out to be useful for others too. The fact that this is not accepted as a rebrick contest entry doesn't take anything away from that.
  24. I guess you're right. And when I think about it I also understand why they do not accept entries that look like an original set. Anyone could claim having redesigned what's inside. To be honest I didn't really look into the rules. If I would have looked into them I would probably not have bothered in the first place. I still think it's a pitty the contest is mainly about looks and not about Technic. You can't tell a Technic story by uploading 5 images. But that's my opinion. Anyway, I'm not really disappointed. Luckily, I didn't make my ultimately playable version just for this contest.
  25. I don't bother too much. Apparently it's a contest based on 'what something looks like', not on 'how something functions'. Has little to do with Technic in my opinion.
