  1. I decided to only choose from the sets I've owned, and I have to agree with the Cobra that this is the best As for the worst, it's probably the Knights Kingdom grand tournament. It's just too <insert that tiresome argument> and the function to get the horses on wheels to charge at each other doesn't work particularly well.

That's what I do, but I don't go for the adult 'soft' I get toothbrushes that are designed for small children, they're way gentler than the softest adult brush and don't leave marks on the lego at all. Plus there's great choice in children's toothbrushes from Disney characters to Mr Men...
  3. Yep Dooku's set was $115 still, and that other star wars exclusive (spider droid?) was $50, instead of RRP of $40. Edit: I also saw the Star Justice set at Adelaide Toyworld, $89.95. Heaps of copies there. They also had Market street (the factory set) for $139.95.
  4. The Home One (7754) is now at Toys R Us (well Adelaide store at least), now for the catch, the *****s (if I said what I really thought I'd get banned and I'd prefer not to) there are pricing it at $199.99. I'm sort of glad at the price because it meant I wasn't tempted at all to hand over my cash to those ******s. I'll wait until the new Christmas sets are out and add one to my order from Shop at Home.
  5. The latest addition to my family, an abandoned kitten found in my girlfriend's back yard Chirpa She joins my other two abandorinos Spike and Faith
  6. Actually backwards you get a Duplo Tigger Set, maybe not what you were after. There don't appear to be any 57XX sets at all, so maybe you'll end up as one of the new themes that come out next year?
  7. Excellent, thanks for that. I might have to check out a suburban Myer on the weekend to se eif they have a better range.
  8. If no-one answers beforehand I'll check my voucher tonight. From my quick read of it yesterday I thought it was $20 off if you spend over $75, meaning you'd only get $20 off the Taj Mahal. Pity you missed out on the myerone card holder sale the other week, could have got it for $340.
  9. Nothing new at all at Myer Adelaide, pity with the discount and myerone voucher I have, it would have been nice.
  10. As far as I can ascertain, it looks like there's a good chance they'll ship you something, what it is though could be a lottery. I'm not sure about your theory, I can't see a lot of lego buyers wanting to add some electronics to their lego order. Also they're advertising sets that are currently exlcusives at other retailers. I'll give it a miss, but if you grab something and it goes well, let us know.
  11. Is this too good to be true? I clicked on a link at the bottom of a topic here, and it usually has reputable business like bttw. This place Shopping Square has a sale that supposedly ends at midnight tonight (my guess is that this is to make you purchase quickly without thinking). The prices are ridiculous (30-40% off RRP) pretty much across the board. Even when you ignore all the sets that are 'coming soon' there are still a lot of bargains if they are for real. Has anyone here heard of this company? It looks dodgy to me and I won't be buying from here but I was wondering if anyone else knows anything about them. Edit: it seems to be predominantly bionicle and racers sets that are available. Are there Chinese rip-offs of these sets available? I noticed one brick product that definitely wasn't Lego listed there, a remote control car. A little research has revelaed that they sell some electronic products that appear to be below wholesale cost and there was talk of them being non-genuine products.
  12. Well done to all the competitors in showing us your creative talents and particular congratulations to the winners. Going that extra mile obviously paid off for frogstudio, great work!
  13. Two echo bases, at 20% off at Target in Australia. I'm very happy with the purchase as they were flying off the shelves.
  14. That's because the average consumer isn't as crazy as I am. I understand it needs extra room for the taun-taun but it is way over the top. It was a bit emabrrassing at the check-out with the guy trying to squeeze two into the bag for me, while I tried to act like I wasn't a guy over 30 that was buying toys for himself. TRU are insane, weren't Big W selling this for about $180 a couple weeks ago and I'm sure k-mart will have a similar price at some stage.
  15. Just went to Target Adelaide and picked up two Echo bases at 20% off, $32 each, not too bad value I must say, only two left on the shelf when I left. Plenty of tank droids and mid-scale falcons there. Huge box for the echo base, it's 3.5 times the volume (yes I calculated it from the measurements on bricklink, 3.46 to be precise) of the rebels battle pack, for not a whole lot bigger set.
  16. 1. You make a purchase on bricklink exclusively for your cats as you know one loves 3 mm hoses (discovered several times while building and she'd jump in the box and take out the hoses) and the other loves standard helmets (she doesn't like the old style helmets, for whatever reason she doesn't enjoy picking them up, dropping them and batting them around the floor, perhaps it's the more spherical shape of the newer helmets allowing greater movemnet when pushed around). 2. You over-analyse your pets' like of certain Lego parts.
  17. If you're prepared to pay above RRP, the prisoner transport is available here BTTW prisoner transport.
  18. That's a good question that I'm unable to answer. Hopefully we get an answer soon, but I'm not holding my breath, I still haven't spotted an Echo base in stores yet.
  19. Target USA and Target Australia aren't affiliated in any way, so any common exclusives would just be a coincidence. Toys r us (USA) and Toys r us (Aus) however are very likely to have the same exclusives, so I think the chances of the Home One being at any retail shop besides them are small.
  20. There are a few examples of this around including one from a few years back by the White Stripes. Topic here.
  21. I got my one and only title a few weeks ago, Classic A-wing in space for a classic space version I made of the star wars A-Wing. The title sure beat Classic A-hole in space.
  22. The street sweeper impulse set and Medieval Market Village at the Target (Aus) sale. And I've ordered some standard helmets and 3mm hose but they're a gift for a couple of my cats, it beats them trying to steal the lego out of my boxes...
  23. Went to my local Target (Newton, SA) on Thursday night, no MMVs or large pirate ships. Went this afternoon and two MMVs on the shelf ( I grabbed one, thought about two, but decided it'd be nice if someone else got the same pleasant surprise as me). There were also plenty of big pirate ships on the shelf. I can just see us on here in 5 years time saying "Lego is so expensive now, remember when you could buy the Medieval Market Village for $120" while we conveniently forget that this has to be one of the best value sets ever. To Strand, Home One isn't at Adelaide Toys'r'us and even if they've arrived at stores I wouldn't expect them on the shelves until the "30% off our (ridiculously over-inflated) Lego prices" sale is over.
  24. Definitely check out the sales. I have often seen large technic sets on sale at K-mart, although no sales there right now. I'd recommend the 10178 AT-AT if you're into technic and star wars, it's a motorised AT-AT that looks way better than the mindstorms version. I'm not really into technic (too much concentration for my small brain) but I love it.
  25. Not a problem. I figure it won't be hard to get for say $180 US on bricklink and factor in shipping, it's probably about $280 AUD, so it's like free shipping from shop at home and the chances are you'll get it packed in a much better way.
