*Hopes he makes 21* If there's room, sign me up! -
I'm mostly a SW fan, but I will enjoy an episode or two of Next Generation when it's on.
-
None of them are new.

I think the yellow fig was in the 'make your own character' mode. Which is nice that they include the original colors. Interesting. Not as bad as I'd feared, fig-wise, because I have to admit that I was expecting really creepy figs.

What happens when you mix Steampunk and Post-Apoc?
Corvus replied to Tereglith's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Neat. It seems apocy-steampunk to me. It actually reminds me of a sheepherder's wagon, oddly enough. -

^ Victory is mine. -
Thanks, guys. I wanted to do a parody of this after thinking "Hey, lightsaber fits here..." and it went from there. I like the show for all the various weapons they swing at things (the claymore test was my favorite) but I usually *try* to turn it off before they determine the winner, partly because I can't tell what they're determining it on. Definately not skill. "Wait, you just confirmed that a blunderbuss pellet can make it through armor. But how dangerous is it after it makes it through?! "

Thanks, guys. It feels....interesting....to be 18. But hey, I'm 'legal' on EB now. Trust me, it's nothing you want to see. It took us two weeks to hide the body and the evidence -
DEADLIEST WARRIOR WINNER: Stormtrooper Max:”The Stormtrooper won because he had better armor, and because of that blaster. I don’t care what close range weapon you have, you can’t beat the future.” STORMTROOPER Kills: Blaster: 999 VIKING Kills: Axe: 0 Shield:0 A rock: 1 Geoff: “Even though the Viking had some impressive close-range weaponry, he just couldn’t get close enough to use them. The Stormtrooper shot him down, every time. Well, almost- I was surprised about the rock. Maybe because it worked in ROTJ.” Armand: “The Stormtrooper had more training, better armor, and better weaponry. May the best man win.” Matt (Viking expert): “We may have relied a little too much on brute force and close range weaponry. But I don’t get it- I was expecting it to be closer, though. Hell, it worked in Return of the Jedi! Go Ewoks! … But I’m confident that if the Stormtrooper met a Viking in a bar, he would win.” Governor Tarkin (Imperial expert): “Rebel scum.” Matt: “Why, you—“ *End transmission* I couldn't decide if this was SW or History, so I went here.

My favorite overused scream ever.

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. I love the texture you've built into the church, as well as the windows and little (spires? The things on the corners). What you did with the water was also neat, and I really like the way you have little veins of greenery running down the rocks.

Video of Lego Buddhist Temple In Pop-Up Book
Corvus replied to RepublicForces's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Wow. Amazing. Not only did he make a great MOC, but he also managed to make it fold! -
Thanks, guys. I thought this topic had died for a bit. I'm glad I got the PM set. The set itself (crystal king) was pretty useless, but as soon as I saw the fig's heads I knew I had to do this.

Neat! I have to say my favorite bit is the instrument, it would make a great saxaphone if painted gold. Is that a Steely Dan reference?

Star Wars The Clone Wars Season 2 Discussion
Corvus replied to DarthSion's topic in Culture & Multimedia
We do? That's unusual to do... wasn't it something like the 6th or 7th episode last year? Anyway, not my favorite episode, but not the worst, either. The episode didn't quite end as I expected, which is good, but the dialogue wasn't terrible, my main concern when I found out it was an entirely non-action episode. -
"Oh yes, return of the Astro Nut."

I actually *gasp* like short-lived themes!
Corvus replied to Batbrick's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Neat. You're right- short themes bring unexpected, random, and useful pieces are really neat. But the evergreen themes have their own potential- to really build and mature a theme, complete it in a way that no short-lived theme can. Even Power Miners- while I'm not really a theme of any of the sets (first wave or second wave), they do have some neat parts- rock monsters, dynamite, and above all, much-needed new heads and cool torsos. I can't wait for the second year and the release of the new 'figs- silver helmets, silver Agents armor, and a silver recolor of my all-time favorite visor, the Ice Planet slitted visor with an antenna. -
Which is why I'm just getting the helmet. For one, I can't afford the entire costume (veeery very pricey!), but also it'd be a shame to grow out of it in college. One-upper.

Not as good as the $20 bill waxed into the floor of my school.

QUESTION: How to make a good Mando helmet?
Corvus replied to General Magma's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I've always wanted a nice Mando helmet. I'm surprised Brickforge hasn't done it yet. Maybe it's because Arealight's already made one that's holding them back. I've researched un-printed helmets on Bricklink, and boy, are those expensive. YG-49: Nice job there. It's a viable option, but the big problem is that the prominent chin section is still there, and the plastic is too thin to sand/cut down. -
Technically, that's not part of the book. That's part of a hollow cardboard section that acts as both filler and space to put the fig in. So... I wouldn't consider it actually hurting a book. That would be terrible.

This: Darth Vader helmet And this: Darth Vader shirt This year is going to be awesome.
-
Thanks, guys. Just so you know, I didn't take pics of every page. There were still plenty more- mostly in the the movie section. Hmm, don't think I'd like a Lucas fig for sale. That's a little creepy. I wouldn't mind making a custom, though.

A royal guard on patrol duty slacks off, napping in the sunlit meadows. Unfortunately, he wakes up to an unpleasant surprise.... More on Flickr Comments and criticism appreciated. (This being my first Historical MOC)
