So if I understand correctly the build is solid and could be turned upside down without falling apart? Apart from losing the cherries and some minor stuff that obviously can't be connected in any way.

Hi there Legonardo, I'm not much of a historic forum guy, but I must say I've been admiring your work for quite some time now. I wonder how it's all done. Could you maybe take an inside picture of this particular build? I wonder if it's all just carefully put atop or is it fixed in places somehow? Does this creation withstand transportation and so on ... Thanks and keep up the excellent work!

Nice find with the images! I'm so glad we're finally getting an Ithorian! Shame it's in a Jek 14 set which comes even after the CW ... but still we get one. :)

HOBBIT lake town guard poy bags
MstrOfPppts replied to legomonk's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I'll use this thread since it already exists ... I remember someone doing something similar with the previous Mirkwood Elf poly. I'd like to ask anyone who'd be able to get me some of these new polybags (about 5) at reasonable price. Without too much fuss, just picking them by the way if it's possible please PM me. Thanks in advnce! :) -
Confiriming my cooperation with Captain Nemo! I also have some questions - I guess that the price limit does not go well with the no minifig limit rule. Also if each builds his part, I guess there's no need for the picture with both parts connected, or does one have to build both parts in the end? I also must add that this is a very nice idea for a contest and something fresh here on EB. A big thanks to Bonaparte for organizing this!

A nice and clean build! I find the base a bit too clean and organized. A lot of windows and paralel hallways for a snow carved hole that the base really was. I understand that this is a more for fun episode, but I don't get the Yoda aperance there? I too love the screens and the sideways computars are also a nice touch in the controll room!

SoNE Contest Episode III: Return to Echo Base
MstrOfPppts replied to Lobot's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Hey, I've been absent for quite some time and still am away from my LEGO. I had some nasty RL problems but it's getting better. I won't be back untill around 3rd or 4th, so I'd like to ask for a deadline extension. I was really looking forward to this episode. Holidays are a lot free time, but people prefer to spend it in various other activities. We can see that there are no entries yet, though we've had some by this time in previous episodes. -
This is a very interesting design. I too think it looks more like an armored unit than a speeder but it looks neat. I like the angled panels which are not causing too many gaps! If you want to make it look more like a speeder, I'd suggest to adjust the angle of the side panels (wings) to make it look more flat.
-
Well if you only rushed through the topic and counted the images you're surely wrong since there was a lot of quoting going on telling which entries people liked ... And an important rule by making an entry was to have fun and anyone not obeying that rule, got disqualified!

[SoNE EPIII] Auxilary Armoury near Hangar AG-4G
MstrOfPppts replied to Tom Jurassic's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
If I'm not mistake this is not rendered at all. If taking screenshots directly from LDD I'd suggest to at least turn on the "High-quality rendering of bricks placed in the scene" and "Outlines on bricks" under preferences. This will make the MOC look more realistic and not like it's all in one piece. If your computer is too slow just turn it on for taking the screenshot. I'd also suggest to make the decision to either make a fully studded or completely studless creation. Studs under the piping don't go together well with the smooth plates right next to it. I'd suggest to go completely studless for some extra challenge. It's a bit harder, but you have all the parts available since you're using LDD. Another advantage of LDD is the possibility to go big so don't be afraid to expand the creation over time ... Otherwise it's a good start! -
This made my day! Thanks CopMike for the figs and to Sinner for making an algorithm that pick me. And prize A that's the best I could wish for. Seems like someone wants me to move from SoNE to GoH

I already said what I wanted to see most and might add another idea. Maybe if we had a dedicated SoNE subforum, Bob, Lobot and some other guys coworking on the story and episodes could get the moderating function of that subforum. More people means more chances someone has time meaning faster index updates, topic titles fixing, pining / unpining episode threads and so on ...

SoNE Contest Episode II: Escaping from the wreckage
MstrOfPppts replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
You don't agree with my feedback?! <nods his head> ... just kidding. I'm really glad that some do appreciate the feedback I write. Some might think it's a lot easier to write how something is good but for me it's a lot easier to be frank! Therefor sometimes it sounds like a certain creation is really bad, but bear in mind two things. Fisr that what I write is my subjective opinion and does not mean that everyone sees it the same way. And second that most things I don't mention are just OK and don't need fixing but I don't write it since then I could type every comment I make for about 15 minutes ... I do try to highlight something good everytime but sometimes I just run out of ideas. It's either I've seen something very similar or have even done it myself or it's just a strange mood I'm in writing the comment. I too miss some more constructive feedback as I've said in the feedback topic. It's not only us here but it seems that SoNE and SW in general has not a lot of interest outside this subforums. There's plenty of MOC experts out there from which I'd be glad to read any feedback. Not neccesarily on my builds - sometimes you have to learn from things said about other's work too. But guys (and gals), first we have to show the organizers that we're really willing to participate! Piranha politely asked us what were our suggestions for the SoNE continuation and two of us replied?! Yeah I know everyone is insanely busy at the exact time they want to write something in here ... and then they forget ... and then it's too late ... and then ... my megablocks! Well I know I got carried away (again) and that this doesn't belong here. I'd also suggest that further similar comments are done in the feedback thread so that it's all in one place. -

SoNE Contest Episode III: Return to Echo Base
MstrOfPppts replied to Lobot's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Awsome idea for an episode. Although SW is supposed to be more serious it's very welcome to do something for the fun. @Kaitan: I think it's easier for the judges if you create only one static MOC, since that's what they judge and most of us create. Use the freebuilds to tell stories and gain XP ... P.S.: Empire has better cookies! -
SoNE Contest Episode II: Escaping from the wreckage
MstrOfPppts replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Congratulations to the Rebels ... again. Well I guess that our armor just wasn't made for the sands and heat. Beware of the next batlle! -
I've put it apart already, so here's a quick try in LDD. All the parts in the left and two seats from different angles.
-
I too admired this creation in live and must say it is really well done. The ship is outstanding, the plate built house is gorgeous and every detail in there works well as a whole! My only big complaint would be the usage of two sided heads for figs wearing hats or other type of hooding that doesn't cover the second face ...

[SoNE Freebuild] Meeting on Tatooine
MstrOfPppts replied to Donnie Bricko's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Wow! There's a lot of detail I like in this cantina! Love your decision to snot the floor and make them smooth. Just the way I like it! But I think that all the walls finishing at different heights and even more not being all connected to each other make the MOC look too much like ruins I think. Also not too sure what the red ground is supposed to be? Else it's a really nice MOC and the minifigs are also great. -
I don't have that torso (yet)

Thanks everyone, glad you enjoy my builds! Well t's still safer than the cannon fodder running around on the ground! Maybe you're right. I just felt I needed to include two more colors into all that grayness. I first wanted the can to be yellow, but I don't thin I have the top part in that color. For the middle plate I only found it in green, purple and black and thought blue fits best. I really need to sort my unsorted portion of bricks! Well actually to follow the movie and SoNE cannon, this is back from the past. As mentioned, I was lucky to have the knowledge of radars and navigation to be put into an AT-AT. I was not an officer by that time and was merely a trooper in the battle on Bespin ...
-
Repairing the speeder took quite some time and the heat was getting unbearable in the armor. I found out that the two troopers were clones and for that they complained quite a lot about the way the Empire handles troopers. They both agreed that the battle conditions on Hoth were the worst ever by far. I guess I was lucky that time having the knowledge of radars and navigation I was put on an AT-AT bridge. Hope you guys like it, C&C welcome and I'd like this to be judged

Thanks for the update Lobot, though that could be posted in the thread for ep. II. @Dragonfire: I'm afraid I must disagree with you on the first point. The ep. II idea was very cool and I think most people enjoyed the challenge. The sets needed for the challenge were not some 100+ price point sets and every SW fan should have them anyway ( joke ). Of course no one forces anyone to buy them so there comes the LDD rule. Saying the rules were not fair is like saying being unable to participate for the lack of time / not being at home is unfair? Anyway if you checked the list I bet everyone had at least 200+ parts from the list he could use and 20 extra parts you could use in a smart way for making those 200 work together. Sometimes thinking out of the box is a good idea and might become quite an advantage when it comes to results. Also it's important to participate (even if with only 20 pieces MOC) not to win! But on the other hand LDD for other episodes as BEAVeR suggested I don't think is such a good idea. A LDD only episode? Yes maybe, but mixing both every time and in free builds is a bit odd without any similar restrictions to ep. II. Going huge in LDD is very easy, presenting your MOC is a bit harder without additional image editing skills or some rendering. Rendered vs non rendered can also seem very different and some people automatically prefer brick built MOCs and vice versa. Comparing LDD built to real brick built has a huge subjective impact I think. Piranha: thanks for the reply! Although I thought through a lot of things before creating this thread it seems some details were still not taken into consideration. Presuming that every member with 2k+ posts or even an admin / mod is automatically a MOCer was wrong. I was mainly a collector for two years and only recently started MOCing and I can assure you, you're missing the most fun part. Anyway, your opinion on other's work still counts even if you don't give suggestions. My top suggestions for SoNE at the moment would be: 1. SoNE subforum 2. changing the scoring system somehow, to make it more fair I've rethought this one and my first suggestion might not work that well either. I went through ep. I results again and found out that amount of builds somehow automatically decreases the quality score. And that is for another problem I mentioned, the big difference between the points the top 10 builds receive compared to others. Also averaging things that are not on the same scale is not such a good ide (entries with max 25 and max10). I presume that in ep. II the empire side will win in quality for the fact that we won't have any entries with only max 10 points. The quantity auto win still stands though and things need to be rethought. 3. Making the XP more important in some way or another, encouraging people to be more active 4. Maybe make a higher goal of everything going on. Some scoring like GoH have in guild's money. Some R vs I score where all episodes, free builds (rated or unrated) and everything else (maybe some future challenges) are counted together in a smartly weighted way As I already said I didn't want to be harsh and also some of my predictions were wrong. I just felt something was not right and therefore started this discussion although sometimes it's hard to point at an exact thing that makes things not feel right. As someone already said it feels as if just a bit more effort should be put into getting the ball rolling. After getting the momentum a week of inactivity would pretty sure go unnoticed ... So a big thanks to everyone posting their feedback, as well as to staff for their explanations since together we can make things better faster! In the end of the day we all want SoNE to be a success and after time the organizers will be able to look back at it proudly. And everyone will forget about that ranting guy MtrPpp ... what's his name?
