[GBW] Justice Served - Plighia - The Yeti Lair
TheBeeze replied to ParmBrick's topic in The Great Brick War
You’ve been awarded ( 9 ) points. Judges’ comments… Okay so I like what you did with the snow here and how you managed to blend not only the terrain, but the buildings into the snow detail. 3rd build with that long and narrow approach, time to switch things up a little to afford yourself some more room to work with in other directions. Another great job!. PROS : Beautiful snowy environment. And once again I like the inside building view that give us the overall actions of the story CONS : the pine tree in the right. It's like a christmass tree but not so weel build SUGGESTIONS : Even if your three last builds are nice, they seemed very similar: A build with a tower in the right that is attacked from the front. In games like Great Brick War, try to use different perspectives in your builds Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing! -
[GBW] Justice Served - Plighia - Over the Borderline

You’ve been awarded ( 8 ) points. Judges’ comments… Beautiful landscaping here. There is nothing really complex to it but you just blended the features and colors so nicely. The fence/gate concept was pretty cool too. Things got a little fuzzy at the end with the close up shots since it got a little tight on space. Great Job! PROS: Very nice the colors combination, the minifigures posing and the damaged door with all the details. I also like the design of vehicle and the use of thsese castle wall parts CONS: As you create nice trees, avoid the use of those ready-made pine trees SUGGESTIONS: Technicaly speaking, try to use some kind of defuser to your light during photoshooting Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing! -
[GBW] Justice Served - Plighia - Bahn Puor AFB Occupation

You’ve been awarded ( 6 ) points. Judges’ comments… I liked the details that you had here. The narrow landscape did not afford you too many details to build in too much detail but there was plenty where you could get it. The little road dividers were pretty cool too. Nice Build! PROS: well detailed inside and outside of the control tower and I like the structure of the radar much. Also the build of the concrete barriers is very interesting CONS: Too many studs without cover. You used the yellow tiles beautifully as painted lines, but next to empty studs they seemed not to well SUGGESTIONS: You 've got very nice details but your whole build is kind of empty, and not because of the road plate but because of the empty studs" Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing! -

That picture with the guys in the raft looks very similar to one of our OLD promo pictures from when we first started the game haha. I did a double take. -
Love the lines, so clean. The choice of engine cover is pretty cool too.

You are literally waging your own war sir, awesome! I was slightly disappointed at the lack of Yeti though when I saw the title. Mayyyyyyyyybe I'll have to slip a Yeti in Phase 3 like Ghost Recon. -

This is awesome! Was the bigger one featured in a beyond the brick video at some point? I remember seeing something similar with the whole thing functioning with Mindstorms. -
Saw this on the front page and said to myself "Oh I know who that guy is!" Nice job man, glad to see you're still building!

Operation Justice Served After the liberation of Burke Atoll by the Brick of Nations Forces, the international community has decided Tosul cannot go unchecked. Countries from all over have signed on for a coalition of force to systematically cripple the regimes abilities to spread influence and create global tension. Campaign and Building Details Players are to build MOCs showing their troops hitting targets inside of Tosul of their choosing based on the below map points of interest. Tosul Map by Jesse Beeze, on Flickr There is no limitation on movement within these points. Building Instructions: You are to create builds showing your military attacking points inside of Tosul. Your build must reflect the map square you attack. ie- if you attack a square on the map that has a light house, there better not be a jungle. If you assault a sandy beach, there should not be high cliffs and mountains. MINIMUM SIZE BUILD IS 16 X 16 LDD BUILDS ARE ALLOWED FOR THIS ROUND All builds must be new MOC’s and not prior builds. Photo Editing is to be kept to a minimum with only real edits of lighting and color correction. No special effects. Players may crop one picture of their MOC onto a background picture to help with their landscape if they’d like. Pictures cannot be bigger than 800x600 - you can link to higher resolution Players may post a link to an offsite host such as Flickr where Higher Resolution pics are located. ALL PLAYERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO USE TAGS ON FLICKR FOR THEIR PHOTOS AND TO ADD THEIR PHOTOS TO THE GREAT BRICK WAR FLICKR GROUP TO SPREAD AWARENESS ON THE GAME! Tag Great_Brick_War on instagram if you post pictures there. Upon completion, players must also post a link to their build in the AAR Thread as well letting the judges know that it is eligible for scoring. Scoring will be worth a maximum of 10 Points a Piece. The Outcome: This will wrap up our phase II of the game and usher in a whole new version of the game in a short time for the upcoming winter.

While I sit onboard my aircraft and work on writing our next campaign and also continue our planning for the next phase, I'd like to open the floor to all of you. Below are some points I'd like to accomplish with phase 3. I'd like your input on those points, how we accomplish them, and what else you'd like to see. -Smaller Scale Theater of Battle- the next phase will not focus on a global theater but will be relegated to a smaller zone. - Territorial Conflict- Players will play for control of the map. Whomever has the most space wins. - Factions- The next phase will feature 3 factions that players will join and work together towards their goal of owning territory. - Have an option for more players to participate in a casual role. How do we draw more players in to join us, even if they don't build for every event? Tell me your thoughts and let's all talk. There are three different organizations you can sign up for: Peace Securing International Coalition- (PSIC) - Coalition of Allied Nations that recently waged a humanitarian relief effort in a neighboring country. Called upon by the international community to help deescalate the region and return it to peace. PSIC nations also see an opening in Soalon to not only institute a newly formed democracy, but to also exploit several of the countries resources and wealth. Kriviyat League of Republics- (KLR) - A collective of socialist nation states looking to spread influence throughout the world by one ideological shift at a time. With Soalon right on the border of two of its members' states, the KLR sees Soalon as ripe for the taking. For years they have had everything from deeply embedded spies in the Government, to corrupt officials on their payroll. Their influence in region is easily recognizable, but not welcomed by the population. The Brotherhood of Soalon- (BS)- after the collapse of the Soalon Government, those with any level of influence began to fend for themselves. Very rapidly, powerful figures in the country realized they would need to prepare to defend themselves from invaders as opposed to fighting one another. An underground was formed between the key figures of big crime syndicates, members of the disbanded Soalon Military, and religious extremists. The group extorted businesses on all levels to join the fold and it is largely believed the once booming economy of Soalon is at a finger's reach for the Brotherhood's network. *Note* The pictures used above or purely for a rough form of reference. You do NOT have to make your builds exactly the same as shown in the pictures. These factions are open to interpretation within reason. Each side will have it's own advantages and disadvantages when the game is underway, but we are electing not to post that during the sign up period as we want players to choose sides based on what they like to build and not purely for an edge in the game.

Island Rush - EROTEMA - 1 of 1 – ASW patrol
TheBeeze replied to sigpro's topic in The Great Brick War
You’ve been awarded ( 5 ) points. Judges’ comments… Nice to see you back here building. This build seemed a little impromptu but still welcome nonetheless. The plane was nicely done and the highlight here. There were several glaring gaps in things you had going on like the submarine shot that just had white board exposed. A little more time on this and it could have been much better. PROS: The whole idea is clever as we never saw in GBW something like that. Also the plane in (probably) microfig scale in very interesting CONS: The idea of the part of the submarine being out of water is smart, but I would like to see more of the submarine in length and not just a small part of it. And overall, this partial presentation greatly spoils the effort in the builds SUGGESTIONS: If you could expand the sea, make the submarine bigger and combine them with the plane in one picture, the final build would be the least, impressive Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing! -
You’ve been awarded ( 8 ) points. Judges’ comments… This is a very different build with the use of the horizontal bricks to do your texturing on the landscape. Love that technique! Great job with the ship too! Things were a little tight so I might have either slimmed down the project or used a bigger base. PROS: Nice small details and overall a nice vignette with beautifull colors in the veggetation -- CONS: The design of Patrol Boat even is good, it seems a little too small for all this structure -- SUGGESTIONS: Use hair lac to keep down the fabric of the sniper and try to use Lego birds insead if these you builded. Even if they have a smart and nice lego design, they looked kind of bulky Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!

You’ve been awarded ( 7 ) points. Judges’ comments… There was a lot going on here in a very small amount of area which was cool. The primary focus and shining star here is the missile truck which is awesome! The only thing I may have done differently would have been to use different colors from the road and the ruins for a little bit better contrast.. Great work! PROS: The design of the missiles is strange yet interesting. Τhe vehicle also has small nice details -- CONS: the pattern of the road is very distructing. It makes difficult to see other details. Even a damaged road don't have so many colors. Υou could not put asphalt at all and make a dirt road -- SUGGESTION: when you want to show dead (or not dead) minifigs without helmet or hat, try to put on hairs as not everyone can be bald Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!

You’ve been awarded ( 8 ) points. Judges’ comments… Awesome job! Everything from the UTV Vehicle to the light house are very well done. The custom made rope bridge from end to end is really nice touch. Great Job here! Pros: -the UTV is a nice original build -the lighthouse build technique to make the curved wall is very interesting. -I like how you build the bollards in the platform -birds on the rock is a nice touch -Nice photoshooting........Cons: -Not like very much the cubic base of the lighthouse. It's like something strange -I can't understand the use of the flames in the bridge. .....Suggestions: -Even if I prefer everything to be cylindrical in the Lighthouse, it would be better to choose between the completely cylindrical or square. Also you can use the compination of cylindrical and square, but in larger build where thw base would be at least 2 studs wider in each side Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!
