LEGO Nexo Knights 2017 Discussion

In a glance no one can figure out it's a new minifigure with new armour and printing... it's just too similar from the old one. -

The level of details for those minifigures are topnotch and that armour on the top left... absolutely stunning! Those are the kind of armours I would have expected from the stone army. Thanks TLG! -

Readers be warned. Spoilers ahead. Probably a good idea to use spoiler tags guys. The Temple of Airjitzu set now makes sense... And how I wish I have 2 sets to make a MOC out of it.- 4,591 replies

Upgrading big forums like EB is not as easy it some people might think of, so I am very pleased how it turned out. It wasn't a smooth sailing at first but gradually things got better and now the forum is in better shape than ever. The mobile version is so much improved from previous version but I also miss the simplicity of the old one... of course with a simple tweak here and there on a simplified theme this can be achieved as well. Overall, I'm very glad how things are shaping up and I know there are many stuff still in progress. Thanks admins for the hard work!

blunck, raggmunk, tannin, rivett, buffmillion... seems like the names are all inspired by the sounds you hear in a blacksmith shop. -

Will Ahsoka be ever in a small set? -
I did a lot of pondering where my Ninjago collection will end up after accumulating them for several years. As much as I like to keep the sets intact and built up, I need to part them out into pieces and only display the minifigures. I do MOCs so I value my own creations than just building up the sets. Nowadays I have simple rule to prevent over buying more than I can build -- if the set is a vehicle I may just wait for 50% sale or just get the minifigure. If it is a playset or a building, I will likely get it in normal price or during polybag promotions. If it is retailer exclusive then most likely I'll wait for clearance too. If it is a dragon or mech I really want to continue collecting them but I am running out of space so just like the vehicles, if the price is not within my budget or if I don't "need" then I will skip it. I had to trim down my collection because I have Star Wars and CMF to keep me busy as well... Unfortunately for the DotD sets none of them are playsets except Samurai X Cave which is sadly an exclusive so that made them very easy to skip...

I don't know. The reply form remembers the last thing I typed here but I don't. So the moment I came back here I forgot why I was tagging so I tried to remove it but when I hit backspace on my phone, it doesn't remove the tag. I am on Android when I was doing that. Not sure if it was the editor or Chrome misbehaving. I tried one more time to remove the tagging from my phone and just like last time i could not remove it. However, as I have access in my Windows 10 laptop now I can edit the post above, press back and remove the tagging. I know it's weird but I am just sharing that no matter much I like the new post editor there are times it is not behaving perfectly.

What would you like for the next Castle line?
makoy replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Not sure if someone already mentioned but I wish that TLG can come up with a storyline driven release like Nexo Knights and Ninjago by borrowing from familiar historical events. A lot of these stories can also be integrated with LEGO's interconnectivity concepts they have developed. I can think of sets like medieval market, wind mills and blacksmith shop on top my head. These are just a few that I wish they will revisit because I think both AFOLs and kids will like them a lot. -
@Bonaparte hello... For some reason I could not remove the tagging. I am not supposed to input your username but I could not remove it. I tried many times but the editor is not cooperating. Anyway, on a side note... Am I the only one who accidentally presses the sign out button on mobile even if the intent is to show the notifications?

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
makoy replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
This happens for 'retired products' all the time. Suddenly a price hike happens when LEGO officially announce that they won't continue production of a set or CMF series. Don't count for re-release because it won't happen. Even the most popular animal costume minifigs took a number of years before getting a reissue in some other form (new packaging, etc). You have better luck getting it as a bundle.- 4,155 replies

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
makoy replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
If you're a Cole fan, absolutely. If you're just a casual fan and don't mind skipping the episodes then it's okay to skip. Like @gamejutzu mentioned, this is like an OVA and some of the setup for the next season is embedded in this special. With regards to the length of this special -- I feel like they have not developed the character of Cole compared to other ninjas. Next season we'll have Kai and Nya as the focus of the story once again. Lloyd enjoyed so much character development for several seasons and even Zane and Jay had been devouted 1 season each for their story arc. Cole on the other hand only got a scanty 45-minute special...- 4,591 replies

Probably the best line of the episode: "Who's roger"

The UCS Hype. What will 2017 bring? (40th Anniversary)
makoy replied to Major_Ton's topic in LEGO Star Wars
While it is a good idea, even at microscale, trench run will just be greebles all over.... It will be a very monotonous build unless you like to do that repeatedly. Also, with microfighters series you can recreate that already... You just have to create your own trench. I still hope that TLG will release a ship that transcends generation. -

Ok. Overall, I am happy with the outcome but if you have watched the clips online and read all those trivias or confirmation from Tommy then that's like 80% of the story already. I'm not expecting a deep storyline but I hope that they have developed this as few episodes (half season) instead of just a special because the story is so short, it unfolded in less than half a day. The vehicles only appeared like an advertisement for the sets and that's not good at all...- 4,591 replies

They can't give justice to Mos Eisley Cantina because even if we make the Cantina bigger there are 70+ patrons in there. If they do only the 'major' patrons it will disappoint the completist collector in you (I know I would)... so that's another thing to complain about -- so I hope they just release small portions of Cantina every x-numbers of years and add in more patrons other than Greedo. I still prefer the re-release of MF -- Not surprising as It was sold 2 years after RotS. We know that Prequel Trilogy did not revive the fandom of Star Wars as much as Lucas wanted it to be. However, after Disney bought Lucasfilm the Star Wars fandom is on its peak now. As for the price... the Ghostbuster HQ is only 500 pcs less than the old MF UCS and yet I can tell that LEGO is not having a hard time selling a playset base off an old blockbuster film. The last thing I will worry or think about is the secondary market price as it is an entirely different discussion. -
How can the UK pricing be lower than than most European countries? It's an anomaly. I also wonder what will be the price like in South East Asia region... Side note - I think TLG should start quoting at least 1 Asian currency in their press releases if Asia is truly important for them.

I think those are intended for box collectors... granted that there are not special thing in it except the packaging? What makes it extra awesome "inside" then?
-
It has so much potential for modding, as if this set is intended to be just like that so that you will want another set to make the buildings look more awesome. Good that I am not crazy about modulars... But if I am, this will be a day 1 purchase.

+1 Also, making minifigures exclusive resulted to bootleggers filling that gap TLG had created so the lesser the "rare" minifigures are, the better for casual collectors and consumers.

I almost missed it but it is in the trailer at around 1:50

That thing with Agent Kallus getting even with Zeb... I feel that it's not entirely even. I have more faith with the rebels getting away without help. Also, Sabine removing her helmet so that viewers can easily recognise her is just too convenient because she's the only petite pilot out there. You can recognise her easily without removing the helmet for the sake of convenience. Otherwise, I enjoyed the episode and I hope the explore more backstory of other rebels in future episode.
