  1. It's been in production since 1998, long before Ninjago. It was used mostly in the Ninja subtheme of Castle. Definitely not 'swamp wave' (Hands of Time) I like to think these battle packs (or accessory packs as TLG wants to call it) are not season specific because and Skylor's suit is different from the Tournament of Elements... so you can't say it is specific to Tournament of Elements as well.
  2. I think the designers just have fascination on surfing in general. I collect surfers too.. What I want to see TLG doing more is releasing bare-naked torsos not only for surfers or beach-goers but for a lot of other purpose.
  3. Completed the survey yesterday... basically I mentioned that I want all packaging to be like IDEAS because it's so convenient to open.
  4. Thanks @Littleworlds for dropping by. I didn't mention about the classic grey and dark grey in the review but you noticed it. (always good to have colour-balanced photos). For other folks interested about LEGO colour history, this is an awesome colour chart and article. Thanks @VaderFan2187 -- true... I also missed those days. About the strangeness of their eyes, they are not as bad as those minifigures with nose
  5. I always admire clever use of brick separators. Cheers!
  6. I'm taking a quick look at this old set that I got recently. This is not counted under my Reviewers Academy reviews as it does not follow the same format. This is more like a pictorial review. Overview Name: 4805 Ninja Knights Theme: LEGO System / Castle / Ninja Year: 1999 Pieces: 34 Minifigures: 5 Price: USD 6.00 Resources: Brickset and Bricklink There is no build involved here because this is a battle pack for the Castle subtheme Ninja. Apart from the accessories and weapons, there's no bricks at all. It is more aptly marketed as 5 Ninja Warriors in the UK version of 1999 catalogue. Minifigures front view - with headgears & armour back view - without headgears & armour front view - without headgears & armour back view - without headgears & armour All geared up with weapons and armours Final thoughts I bought this set with the intention of getting all the other Ninja minifigures that I missed during my dark age period. Was it really just 6 USD back in 1999? I bought this for 15 USD and I know I could get this cheaper if I bought the used minifigures individually. However, I don't want to waste money on shipping from multiple sellers. As these minifigures are in very good condition, I think I made the right decision to get them all together in 1 set even without the box. The play factor in having 5 ninja warriors is better than having mediocre build, fancy torso prints or unique minifigures. Back then there is no storyline to follow. From this set kids will get 2 ninjas, shogun, robber and samurai minifigures -- they can make up stories to stage their own medieval Japanese civil war. Adjusted for inflation the price of this set is only 8.75 USD. Compare that to new blister packs that are starting to appear with only 3 minifigures and retailing between 12 to 15 USD, somehow along the way TLG just stopped producing good army builders like this.
  7. I was confused when I found this answer from the other topic.... but anyway, the paddles doesn't have the same contour and like @Robert8 said, the designs were created at least a year in advance.
  8. So at which point does the LEGO baby grow up to be a minidoll or minifigure?
  9. You're right. Totally not feeling the beach vibe.... most people are wearing too much clothing. They might as well make this fun at the quay or waterfront. Just wait for it. I was expecting the monkey to make a come back as well.... but at the same time if TLG will give us all the new animals in one wave, they might as well make a zoo set -- but they aren't. I'm intrigued to know if it is the same mould with different print... I think we just have to wait.
  10. The more I look at Fun at the Beach, the more I don't like it... maybe because the Fun in the Park really had outstanding elements like the a lot of new torsos, wheelchair and the baby. Making it more expensive doesn't help either. I am warming up to the Jungle subtheme and now looking forward to the new Jaguar and Panther.
  11. You're referring to "Display Name" Home > Settings (account settings) > Display Name Check if you can still do it even though you've been demoted
  12. I didn't realise this has been going on for quite sometime. You're at series F already. Lots of great ideas in here which makes me think -- Is this a challenge to TLG so that they keep on making fresh new minifigure designs?
  13. I think it has to do with the lighting in Tournament of Element season - sometimes it is darker than usual. I always thought her hair is the classic red (bright red) because there are only 2 opaque shades of red in LEGO 2016/2017 colour palette -- Skylor's red hair has always been brighter than her arm sleeves so it should be the bright red. It is supposed to be a follow-up to the original Skylor design released in 2015 Tournament of Elements (she already has bright light orange headwrap). You can say it is supposed to compliment the Possession & Skybound season where she made an appearance too.
  14. That picture where Phoebe is singing captures the vibe I am looking for. Really well designed. I hope you get all the votes you need!
  15. There is The Incredibles 2 and live-action Mulan movie currently in pre-production. Disney and TLG has good partnership so Disney S2 seems likely to happen next year.
  16. FYI. The complete Season 1 has been uploaded in LEGO Youtube account.
  17. Thanks. Appreciate all your feedback.
  18. A necessary sacrifice for more armored characters/building apparatuses/weapons. Also necessary for more rare/unique minifigs. You know what's more odd? That those more expensive than the usual 10 usd small sets. I think those are going to be 13 usd. There really is a tax for unique minifigures.... but you're not suppose to buy army building sets to buy something unique.
  19. I see what you did there. but in all seriousness, someone please count how many times team Ninjago cling on a cliff this season. Maybe I'll do it when the english episodes are out.
  20. Not sure if any of you already saw this -- new battle pack found in Singapore.
  21. Binge watched for 2 languages that I barely understand what's being said. I mainly follow the action... lol. I know I did that when I was a kid so why not as an adult. Anyway, hope folks will hide the spoilers. Overall, the last 3 episodes are full of action and boy, the pacing is relentless towards the end... with a cliffhanger, both literal and figurative.
  22. Nope. There is no deadline so that's B. As someone who had finished the course in 1 year, I am a testament to a very slow start to clear the Bronze badge.
  23. Ok, so before we do more hinting on what's coming out for The LEGO Ninjago Movie, I'm going back to the accessory pack once again because this set was discovered in Singapore. See the hairpieces on the packaging.
  24. Thanks @Itaria No Shintaku for the game. It was good while it lasted. The bunny seems to be inspired by the Duplo bunny that has been around since 2010. The retro space gun is so funky and antiquated.
  25. Finally TLG decided to make an accessory pack without mixing different minifigures from different seasons or story arc. I will get this one 'coz I like the print of Ash. and I hope they went 1 step further by putting the hair of Ash as well. Someone "spotted" Skylor's hair from one of the pictures. I hope it does include the hairpiece.
