  1. And if I had dreamed of a brick-built T-Rex that looked fierce, aggressive and had articulated legs to allow for some step posing, would it be my fault for being upset that what we got looked avian and tame, with no articulation in the legs? Where do you draw the line between criticism of execution and being upset that the set didn't feature something? To me they're one and the same, albeit on different levels.
  2. I've got 112 sets, and the only ever set I've gotten that had a missing piece was the 8285 Tow Truck, back in 2006. I'm really doubtful that you'll have missing pieces.
  3. I imagine that’s precisely it. The stronger the torque load path, the more stressed all the components are.
  4. Not really. Like I said, those cables can just be pulled taut to move the slack elsewhere.
  5. @CSX9992 Easy, just feed the cable so the slack parts are higher up in the frame. You’re all worrying about a non-issue here.
  6. Oh yeah nah screw my idea in that case hahah, trying to RC that all in a stable structure is gonna be a nightmare for your tiny base
  7. How about the front both articulates and steers? That could be fun
  8. Well, if they need time to iron out bugs then so be it. I’d rather have something that works as intended, not another 42070
  9. They're probably busy designing next year's sets or something. How does the designer structure work anyway? Is it two separate teams, where one finalizes and releases sets one year, while the other is busy designing sets for the following year? So taking turns on the front lines and behind the scenes in essence.
  10. I think it’s this. That would explain why I read stuff on this forum somewhere about Control+ motors having position tracking
  11. They're not that complex. If I'm correct then the input will be the sun gear, and the planetary gears will be connected to the output
  12. I really doubt it, I'm sure they're meant to be tucked in. But daaaaaamn, Control+ for this set looks REALLY in depth. The prefab+custom automation grouping AND one-touch boom articulation are both insanely impressive. I do wonder whether Control+ will allow custom control schemes to be developed with such depth though, because I'd love to see/use these on future MOCs. At this stage I think it really becomes a compromise - if we get physical controls, then we can't have all these new play features. I'm more than happy to trade the physical controls away. Also, hell yes at all the new pieces - giant sprockets, large LAs, 28t gears and a new linear clutch.
  13. As in further to the centre. That or they need to be slightly smaller
  14. Looks good so far, but I think the headlights should be one stud further in. At the moment this doesn't really convey a widebody-kit
  15. Man, I can't help but feel this grey one is just SO much better than the final set: - No underbite - Aggressive eyes - ARTICULATED HEELS - Angular and realistic Honestly, if this one were what we got, I think I'd drop the money to buy the set. Alas, what we got just looks so cartoonishly avian and smooth - it's a significant downgrade compared to the grey model. It's gonna be a no buy from me unfortunately
  16. Very impressive that you've managed to fit suspension there too! I really do wish Lego would make sets of this type
  17. All of me really hopes they’ll make a comeback in a future set, say a trophy truck, which would require large suspension travel.
  18. The last live axle set was 42069 Extreme Adventure, and we've had three independent suspension cars since then: 42077 Rally Car, 42083 Bugatti Chiron and 42096 Porsche. Plus, 9398 came out in 2012, so it's a bit late to play the "exactly the same" card at this point. It's well past time we got a new live axle set with ball socket frames and (imo) long shocks, and this set absolutely should have been the one. It's pretty much the sole reason I'm not gonna buy it
  19. Looks really nice, but I think the front could be improved by not being so long. I'd try cut two studs off above the top of the bumper.
  20. I actually genuinely don't have the space for this - I didn't have any space for 42055 either
  21. Because obviously he doesn't see it as a waste?
  22. But he wasn't even being aggressive, and he's not wrong - this doesn't belong in the Technic forum lol.
  23. I think only the front axle has a turntable, otherwise it would roll/fall to one side, and I highly doubt TLG would give us extra springs to prevent that. Plus, both shots in that leak above show the rear axle in a straight position. EDIT: Sorry, I misread your comment, so ignore the first half sentence
  24. I'm just really sad that yet again we don't get the ball frame and socket . It's honestly the only thing missing in my Technic life, along with the long springs. I just really wish they'd give them some love. Current Technic springs are hopeless for travel
