  1. Velkommen til Maskinen ser fed ud.
  2. Economy and the practical challenge of having a 2,5 m model in my home means that I probably won’t build it on my own.(soon) However I would gladly work together with anyone who wants to participate in making her come to life. Do contact me about such a project if you are interested. It looks to me like "LEGO Ideas" is for ideas on sets. She is thought of as a display item. I have written to the museum in Portsmouth proposing that I build the model for them. If they don't contact me soon I figure that my next move should be contacting some other museums as well as various toy stores. Thoughts on this are always welcome.
  3. Thanks man. Yes I guess it has been a while since I have posted something. I think I'm one of those moccers that do it in bursts. As for the "pro" thing... No one has offered me any money yet He- he- glad that you find her so attractive. I have learned so much since I designed my models in 2011 that I think none of them will be built "as is". At some point I will give them an overhaul. I guess a realistic model of the HMS Surprise will be well recieved. Feel free to take a shot at yourself. The LDD file is free and available here: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/278472
  4. Thanks Thanks. My first ambition was to build models where both the exterior as well as the interior was realistic. However experience has proven that there is much gained by foucusing on the exterior. My last models, much like other big ship models, have no interior design. I think that a good solution would be to display a full ship and a crosssection. or do something like this. https://farm7.staticflickr.com/6232/6320162049_4523a97f97_b.jpg I try to stay in the same scale on all my models. -One stud=one foot- that is something like 1:(38-40)
  5. Great job. Not an inch without a quirky detail
  6. Ben Hur and with the same actor The ten commodores Planking with the apes/Pillaging with the apes
  7. Overall a vast improvement, but I really like how the figures on the first version seemed to have very different personalities.
  8. Magnificent. The titles from the album by beatles could also be fine titles for mocs, but here is a couple of ideas from movies. The Unsinkables Scurvy wars Guns of navy rum Bone huh! One flew over a pirates den Davys hunter Maroon
  9. A warm welcome from a fellow sinner. I have only posted 2 LEGO® models, but a heap of LDD designs. I think that it’s a common thing among LDD users that they want to see their designs in real life. LDD is great for testing ideas. I always think of my own LDD models as WIP’s. Great work on those trains.
  10. Had the same issue and went (a)moc
  11. Welcome. Very impressive designs
  12. I can't help being impressed by your custom hulls. Please keep it up on your bigger ships. It's going to be amazing. Your work on rigging is inspirational. That is just how it should be done. Hope you don't mind if I try to replicate it on future builds.
  13. I love the designs of Konajra . Both of us may have looked in on Ed Diments amazing ships.
  14. Thanks man. Here is some additional pictures as well HMS Ontario side by Anders Thuesen, on Flickr HMS Ontario front by Anders Thuesen, on Flickr HMS Ontario bottom by Anders Thuesen, on Flickr HMS Ontario top by Anders Thuesen, on Flickr
  15. Thanks for frontpaging my designs. Actually I was thinking of revisiting some of those 2011 designs to make them even more accurate. I have learned a lot since then Hope to do that
  16. In this forum I'm actually wondering why there isn't a whole lot more. Thinking about posting some viking ships as well. Thought it could be a nice addition to a vignette with some greek legend. Actually I was wondering if ships of this type would also have an interest in the PIrates forum
  17. Now moving way back in time. This ship was in use in the period from 800 BC-300 BC. The archaic and the classic periods in Greece. This was the time of Homer (not Simpson), Pythagoras (a2+b2=c2) , Thales (Waterworld), Sappho (Woman into women), The battle of Marathon (yes this is where the name is from), The battle of Thermopylae (“THIS IS SPARTA”), The Peloponnesian war, The rise of Macedon (That great Alexander fella)… Penteconter front by Anders Thuesen, on Flickr This vessel was rowed by fifty oarsmen. These were free citizens and the use of oared ships is said to have a strong link to the Greek (Athenian) Democracy. The Penteconter would later evolve in to the more well-known Bireme and Trireme. Penteconter side by Anders Thuesen, on Flickr This was a very fast design Yep both the ship itself and the designing of the LDD file. Penteconter back by Anders Thuesen, on Flickr
  18. The guns on WWII fighter planes were largely mounted inside the wings, so they woudn't be visible. The detail level of my Spitfire isn't really good enough to claim that it is a specific type. Maybe it is a Mk.I
  19. Yes I know that the Topic title isn't correct. It's WWII planes. I would like to share some designs I made back in 2011 Supermarine spitfire LDD by Anders Thuesen, on Flickr Messerschmitt Bf109 LDD by Anders Thuesen, on Flickr Fighterplanes compared by Anders Thuesen, on Flickr Heinkel He111 LDD by Anders Thuesen, on Flickr Heinkel He 111 bottom by Anders Thuesen, on Flickr Heinkel He 111 front center by Anders Thuesen, on Flickr Heinkel He 111 Different colors by Anders Thuesen, on Flickr The last one has also been built Heinkel He111 back by Anders Thuesen, on Flickr Heinkel He111 top by Anders Thuesen, on Flickr Heinkel He111 front by Anders Thuesen, on Flickr Heinkel He111 Flightcrew by Anders Thuesen, on Flickr
  20. I've been building my own designs since I was a kid. However my first serious attempt at designing a "realistic" ship was in 2010. She is posted in the forum under the name HMS Ontario. We all learn from each other. I can't even count the ship designs that has inspired me. Both scale models, minifig illusion and wooden ships. LDD is not the finished thing, not at all. I think of my LDD designs as WIP's. As for your two sets. I think that the playability of the game is quite nice, but the Structures on the side may get in the way whilst playing. I think that LEGO® might rather sell soldiers with different attire seperatly. Thanks for looking in.
  21. I really like this purist thing you have going on in your designs. Do you have the ambition to turn any of them in to a real build?
  22. I have uploaded some yesterday. My most recent designs are the HMS Victory and The Golden HInd. Thanks You can download the LDD file here http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/278472 And here is some more pictures HMS Surprise Port by Anders Thuesen, on Flickr HMS Surprise Lower Hull stern by Anders Thuesen, on Flickr HMS Surprise Lower Hull bow by Anders Thuesen, on Flickr Thanks man, but the real deal is always better. (both LEGO® and those pro's out there)
  23. It is an early attempt. If I ever try to build the HMS Ontario it will be a complete redesign. I have learned so much the last couple of years, and especially my early design of masts have proven to be lacking. I would rather use this http://img.brickowl....2-695798-38.jpg or a combination of this http://img.brickowl....2-279957-38.jpg and this http://img.brickowl....2-589908-39.jpg , but the brick you suggest actually worked just fine on my "HDMS Lougen" model So thanks
  24. Cute and scary like a kid with a hammer
  25. Dreamy landscaping. And then a bit of horror on the side Also reminds me of the Phantom (superhero)
