These pics were a very cooool find. I have wondered what the prototype models looked like before the final. I *wub* the look of the crane. I like the boom & outrigging on the final, but the wheel set on the proto was *sweet* . Thanks for the pics *y* .

I have saved a booklet from every year beginning from 1985 to 2003 that used to come with every set. I also have saved the European booklets that would come with certain sets as well. I really enjoy the European booklets because the pictures in these were different than the US booklets. I even have some of the old "Service" booklets that were only available in Europe. I was disappointed that the products in these booklets were not available in the US. I really would have *wub* to have some of these pieces. I have also saved the Holiday S@H catalogs from 1990 to the Present. I also have every box my Lego sets came in from the Police Command Base (1986) to the Present. I use the "Town/Train" sets as a base, and I modify the model(s) from there. I have bought other sets just for the pieces. Even though I use these to modify models, I have kept the boxes. Model On!!

MatthewUSA replied to SirNadroj's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Very cooool MOC, Sir *y* . I definitly like the way you modeled a part of history. When I looked at the pic of your car, I thought of the new Indy sets. I totally *wub* the look of the entire set-up. Model On!! -
I *wub* the "City" mini sets. I can't wait to find these in the stores in the US. I am definitly going to buy all four. I am even thinking about buying a few more of the construction & trash sets for the figures. Thank you for the pics *y* . Model On!!

As a "Townie", I am definitly going to add these sets to my collection. I think they are all great sets to add *y* . The nice thing about Lego is, you can always modify them to the way you want them. I will probably modify them to meet my own standards. I always make a few changes to the sets I buy. MOC On!!

Sorry to hear about your misfortune with the 7665, Yellost. I too have been very fortunate not to have any defective parts appear in any Lego set. I definitly will keep my eyes open for this kind of thing now. TLC has been so good at quality control in the past. I totally hope TLC will keep their eyes open on this now too.

Thank you Highlandcattle for this information. I can't wait to read the magazine as well. I had a subscription to Model Railroader for the ideas it presented. Model Railroader was very informative as well even for a Lego train layout. But I definitly look forward to what this magazine has to say.

I sometimes run into two problems when I begin an MOC. 1) I get busy with other things like we all do, and don't get to it for quite a while. 2) I begin working on an MOC and run into "builders block". I look and look at the model but ideas have ceased. So I begin working on another idea that has come to me. Sometimes I am able to finish one and the "builders block" lifts and an idea returnes to finish the previous model. But I have had "builders block" so bad that I had six unfinished ideas in my workshop. Currently I have lots of ideas, but no space to work on them. I definitly agree that drawing them out is a very good way to record them so you don't forget them, the next time something else comes up. I view my Lego building as an art. As an artist, sometimes I experience moments when ideas don't even come to mind. So I will not spend time working in my workshop. This usually only lasts a week or so, and it doesn't happen alot. I have lots of ideas, but they do not seem to pour out into building. Does anyone else have that problem? You find that the idea is in you mind, but you are just not able to build it. It's almost like your mind hasn't put all the pieces together in your head yet. Once the pieces are together, the idea just bursts out. Am I alone in this process?

Thank you very much for the review Sinner. I definitly *wub* this set. This will make a great addition for us "Townies". I thought the size was too small. I plan to make my house fit practically the whole baseplate. Plus I will definitly add floors, that looked :-D . I can't believe TLC skimped on the floors.
