AWESOME JOB!! Mariann . You did a great job on the mosaic. Your mosaic is definitely a great likeness of Obama. Have you sent any pics of it to him? You should, and see if he will hang it in the White House. You never know, he just might think it is awesome too. Model On!!

Exclusive Train 10194 Emerald Night (Exclusive 2009)
MatthewUSA replied to der seb's topic in LEGO Train Tech
This set looks AWESOME!!! Thank you for the pic. This is definitely one of the best train sets TLG has released in quite some time. I am very curious how the new power functions will handle with a locomotive so well detailed. I am glad to see that TLG did not make the locomotive look so generic like the My Own Train sets. This set looks like a definite good buy for all Train modelers. GREAT JOB LEGO!! Model On!!- 559 replies

Thank you for the great review pyro-hippo. I found your review very informative. Your pics were GREAT!! They certainly showed the great detail of the set. I have been wondering about this set. I thought TLG could have done a better job with the roller and the hinge. I had heard it was a click . Plus I have thought this set was just too large. I don't think I have ever seen a roller quite this big before. A great idea for a set this large would be a landfill compactor. Model On!!

Hi from Baltimore, MD and Arnold T. Blumberg
MatthewUSA replied to arnoldtblumberg's topic in Hello! My name is...
Welcome to EB Arnold. Glad to see you have become a member. I know you will enjoy your time with this group of Lego maniacs. Cool to read you are a Dr. Who fan too. I have always wondered how many Americans are fans of the show. Most people I mention the show to always respond with "What is that". Model On!! -
This MOC is AWESOME!!! piotr. I am speachless about it. I do not know what else to say. GREAT JOB!! I was curious if you modeled this from brochure pictures on the Caterpillar website? If you are a fan of Cat equipment, definitely check out their website. I have downloaded quite a few of brochures for the specs and pics for models I would like to begin. Model On!!

Thank you for the review liquidcross. This tractor definitely tops the charts when it comes to tractors TLC has made in the past. The prices for sets this year just want to make you cringe. I definitley did when I saw this set at TRU. I hope other stores in the USA will set these sets, not just TRU. Thank you again for the great pics. Model On!!

Thank you Brickster for the previews. I would say this set looks very COOL!! I look forward to the rest of your review as well. I did cringe when I saw the price. I am confused why the prices are so much more this year for less parts. I figured TLC would find other ways to cut back costs instead of raising prices to compensate. Thank you again for the pics. They look great. Model On!!

Been reading for months but not signing up
MatthewUSA replied to geiri's topic in Hello! My name is...
Welcome to Eurobricks geiri. I know you will enjoy interacting with this group of fans. I am glad to see another "Townie" join the group. I have been a "Townie" for 24 years. I am sure there is a limited few of us who remember the Town sets from the mid 1980's. Not to mention still have them in our collections. Welcome and Enjoy!! Model On!! -
Is there line to be drawn when making MOCs?
MatthewUSA replied to Derek's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I believe we have to take into consideration that accidents happen in our daily realistic lives. I get the feeling the modeler of this scene is a person who creates MOC's based on real-life objects (planes, trains, cars, buildings, ect...). I can relate to this modeler in the respect that I am a realist designer/modeler as well. I also believe that any AFOL is considered an artist. Even though Lego bricks were created for the younger child, it is the AFOL that takes the brick to a higher level. Designing/creating MOC's of what they imagine or see is up to that particular "Artist". After reviewing the pics posted, I would have to admit that the modelers MOC's were exceptional. I thought their models were AWESOME!! They did a great job on the rescue ships. I don't think any AFOL could deny that. I just want to wrap up saying, we are all "Artists". Whether you are a realist, sci-fi or fantasy, use the bricks to express your imagination, creativity and feelings about what you are passionate about. Never stop expressing yourselves. Model On!! -
Thank you 5150Lego for the review. I have been curious how large the Combine really was going to be. As your pics showed, my thoughts and nightmares came true. Being that I am more of a scale modeler, I will be modifying this set. The parts are AWESOME!! They definitely have great potential for a revised MOC. GREAT REVIEW!! Thank you for the great pics. This is a very unique thread. I have never responded to such a thread before. I am a lone modeler. For me, building is more of an art form. This is a breakdown of how I build. When I buy a new set, I will build it right away. Then I will study the model and see what areas I can modify. I study the parts that have come with the set so I know what new parts I have to work with. Then I will take the set to my "studio" where I have my extra parts. Here I will take the model apart and then rebuild the model to my own scale and modifications. So you can see why I am a solitary builder. The last time I built with another person was when I bought the Statue of Liberty set. This was a great set to work on with others. But when it comes to my own modeling, I prefer to work alone w/ music. Model On!!

Thank you metalandi for this pic. This set looks very COOL!! I hope TLG will release this set in the US. From the looks of this new set, the rumored sets just might be possible. I can't wait to see what else TLG will release in "City" for the year. Model On!!

City 7633 Construction Site Now Available at TRU
MatthewUSA replied to bullet8542's topic in LEGO Town
I know how you feel about the set bullet8542. I happened to come across the set at my local TRU as well. I became very excited when I noticed TLG finally made standard green 1x1 slopes for the truck. I can't wait to see what other sets are released for 2009 with the same parts. I like the dark green, but I have been waiting for standard green for a couple of years now. Thank you for the info regarding the periodic releases TRU will do from now until Christmas. I definitely will be checking out TRU more often just to see what they release. Model On!! -

The new City sets look AWESOME!! On the TRU website they have the dump truck and horse trailer available. The only bad thing for these is the prices. For those of you that have not been to the site, the dump truck is priced $22.99 US and for the horse trailer, $24.99 US. I hope the prices for the other sets will be more practical compared to the piece quantity. Overall though, the sets look great. I cannot wait until they are all available. I really hope the list of the other rumored sets is true. Those sets sound just as AWESOME!! I can't wait to see if these come out too. Model On!

We want the amazing 4999 Vestas Wind Power Plant!
MatthewUSA replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Town
I would definitly to have this set as well. This set would look awesome in my Town layout. Any news that may be released on this set becoming available would be greatly appreciated. My friends brother-in-law caters food to the Vestas plant located in Colorado, USA. My friend told me that his brother-in-law mentioned to him that the set is a hush-hush item around the plant. Not sure why, possibly because the set may only be available to the executives or they may be gifts to all the workers. I know time will answer this question. Vestas Model On!! -
Happy B-day to you both too. I hope you receive all the Lego sets you ask for.

Well Tom, I understand what you are going through. Fortunetly for me, my parents were understanding, and they still buy Lego sets for holidays & Birthdays. I am 31, and I ran into the same situation with my ex-wife. At first she was understanding of my hobby. But just like your mother, my ex-wife turned against me as well. During the time of the divorce, she had the nerve to say to me that Lego toys were like idols to me. She claimed I worshipped them. The funny thing is Tom, I actually would have done anything for her, eccept stop collecting & buying Lego sets. I believe she knew Lego was a hobby, she had to say something in her angry state. She knew her comment would devistate me, that was why she said it. Possibly her comment was a way for her to leave. A comment like that, I definitly wouldn't want to be with that woman. Like some of the other members, ask your mother what she means by her words. Find out exactly why she is feeling this way now. Never hurts to sit down together and come to a rational & probable solution. I am confident you will find one. I wish you a peaceful resolution, that way you can get back to buying & building again. I am very impressed with your MOC's. I would definitly say you do excellent work . I also model my vehicles in 6-wide, but I use a scale of 1/54.54. I created this scale based on the "Trains" dimensions. What I mean is to make my locomotives & cars look proportionate with the track, the scale I use was born. My trains are 8-wide, so my vehicles became 6-wide to compare with the size. Well anyway, AWESOME JOB!! Model On!!
