I will start this off. I have an idea for a "Spy" theme. I would *wub* to see TLC make sets based around James Bond. Not sets based on exact items, but similar looking. I would like to see models like: 1) an Aston Martin roadster. 2) the underwater car (white). 3) the small one-seater jet. 4) underwater vehicles (aquaraider type). 5) the hydrofoil boat. 6) the space shuttle. 7) the small prop glider. 8) the flying car. 9) the stealth boat. 10) the train in Goldeneye. 11) the British bomber in Thunderball. These were all that I could remember. I thought of these based on how cool I thought they were *y* . New Ideas On!!

The only thing I could say to you about this decision is what are you most interested in? If you are a die-hard gamer, then the Gameboy. But if you are a die-hard Lego builder than the Cafe. This is all I could suggest (even though I voted for the Cafe). Model or Game On!!

The only advice I could give you eb59 about building a city is PLAN FOR THE FUTURE. If you are truly a die-hard fan of "Town/City", then you will want to buy/ask for all the sets necessary. I have been collecting "Town/City" sets for the past 22 years and I don't intend to stop. I have plans to build a layout in the basement of my next house. I began planning out my city layout when I was in middle school. I am not sure what your thoughts are on a layout, but if you want a descent size layout, start planning for it now. That way when the time comes to building your layout, you will have the sets needed. Plus you could use the sets as a base model. For example you could take the Fire Department from this year, and add to it in the future. Another thing to consider is if you buy/ask for the new "City" sets for 2007/2008, this way you will have some great sets just in case the line becomes very :-X in the future. TLC produced some very :-X sets from 1997 to 2000. I did not buy during those times. From 2001 to 2002 they didn't even have the "City" theme going. But in 2003 they finally revived the line under "World City". I finally was able to begin buying again. Since then the sets have been pretty good. But I especially *wub* what TLC has done for "City" from 2006 through 2008. These years are definitly a great time to buy *y* . As for the "Train" line. I do not have much advice for you. I started buying the 9V system from the time it came out up to now. But with this fading out, I could see the prices of these items go through the roof. I would definitly think about the 9V system, but also see what TLC comes up with in 2009. I have heard they are working on a new design which uses the Power Function System. I can't even wait to see how this new system will work. Good luck on your hunt and I hope my advice has helped. Model On!!

Thank you for the glimps at the new set Hinckley *y* . I saw this set today at my local TRU store. The new slope 1x2 pieces look very *sweet* . I definitly see great potential for these pieces on locomotives. I hope these are going to be bountiful in the 2008 lines. Model On!!

I definitly think your MOC looks *sweet* phred. I would agree that this would be a very good start for a 1930's fire truck. I really like how you built the front end. You definitly did a GREAT JOB *y* making it look like a 1930's style truck. Model On!!

I really think your modification looks *sweet* 5150. I definitly would say that your truck is what the real thing looks like. GREAT JOB *y* !! Model On!!

Bonaparte, I really look forward to your science results. I hope the parts come out white again :-) . I have found a use for the faded pieces though. For all you "Train" modelers out there, they come in handy for the "weathered" look. For the "model railroad" builders, there are special paints to make locomotives & railcars look faded and old. But the nice thing about sun-faded Lego parts, we don't need such paints to make models look old. Just use those faded bricks for that "used" look. I use this concept for my "Train" models and they look *sweet* . Model On!!

Thank you for this info. I will definitly start keeping my eyes open for the 2008 sets. I can't wait to see what they release early. I have heard rumor that TRU stores in the US should be receiving shipments in the next week. So for all you US members, 2008 will be hear soon *y* . Model On!! -

This sounds like a very unique and cool project. I was just thinking, the use of white bricks reminds me of the marble statues Michaelangelo created. I definitly look forward to seeing the finished work. *sweet*

I figured with the price, they would be pretty cheesy. But I am glad to see they will be good part sets. I like that they come with a minifig. A definite plus to the disappointment. I will see if these will be important enough to buy. I like a few of the new "Creator" sets coming out a lot better.

I also would like to say welcome to EB RebelRock. I think your MOC looks *sweet* . I thought your design looked like something you would have seen in Wild Wild West (movie). This would have been very cooool to see in that movie. Model On!!

I definitly would be very interested in TLC making such a theme. But my theory is this is a good idea to be left to the AFOL. There would be way too many music categories plus bands for TLC to choose from. Leaving this up to the individual is a much better idea. That way "we" as the builder could create the bands/music "we" like. I will definitly give you two *y* up for the idea though. Model On!!
