Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
The_Fiery_Rooster replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yeah, with the description that would make sense, but it doesn't look like a gauntlet, it looks more like a shield to me. I also wonder what the thing shooting out of his other hand is. Is it just a special effect on the box, or is it a physical piece? -

This drawing brings up something I noticed. What on earth are Iron Man’s accessories? It’s not a power blast pack, because there’s only 1 for Wanda, but it’s too big to be a power burst, and he’s got something large and dark red in his hand. I’m curious as to what it all is when we see it. -

Yeah, honestly, I’m not too annoyed because he takes the helmet off like 5 minutes into the battle. For most of the scenes we would want to recreate, this is more accurate anyways. -

An official press release reveal? No, but they could be revealed via other means, like standard retailers posting images. -

That’s why I mention the Monkie Kid sets. Those descriptions were on shop @ home Malaysia, and it still took 4 more days till pics of the sets leaked. Seeing these descriptions does not mean we’ll see them today, or even this week. -

Ehh, I’m not sure. I remember when Monkie Kid set descriptions also leaked on Shop @ Home, and pictures didn’t come out till 4 days later. We’ll see them soon enough. -

Ooh, a light up or glow in the dark arc reactor sounds great! Also, if it does have a 6 stud shooter, it’ll be the first set this entire year to use one. I thought the piece had been retired for a while, but it’s cool to see it’s still kicking! This sounds great! I love the accurate interior, and the set does have the nanogauntlet. We’ll have to see what that looks like soon, I guess. -

About the release date... I'm not surprised. That's how it is every year with most every theme, last year was just the exception for marvel. -

Damn, these look good! The compound somehow manages to be larger than the one from 2019, and it looks better too! I'm surprised the set has only 500 parts, it looks larger. I also like the collapsing part of the building on the side, a nice way to keep the setting in place while also showing the battle damage. I also like that the meeting holograms are in there, hopefully the rest of the interior is also just as accurate. Thanos looks really great! The head will take some getting used to (I was expecting something rounder) but the body looks fantastic! I like that they included his sword, but that build is way to large and cumbersome. I've used these for mine (https://brickset.com/parts/4611882/weapon-warrior) and I'll probably still use that one once this set comes out. I like the pink power burst pieces! Red would be more accurate, but I'm happy with these. Also, I'm glad to see he turret uses the new large projectile, I've wanted one to mess around with but haven't gotten a set with one yet, but now I will! The Iron Monger is pretty good too. I'm surprised to see how well the curved shell piece works for the face, and in general I expected it to be more squat like the 2020 hulkbuster. I don't really care for the flyer or the bike, but I'm curious as to what all the trans blue pieces on the flyer are. Can't wait to get a better look at these! (hopefully tomorrow) -

One of the Shang-Chi sets was revealed on Marvel Must Haves, right? I think it was the escape set... -

Eh, maybe. I think it’ll be big, but few parts. Keep in mind it’s 70 dollars, mostly just a van wouldn’t be enough value. I think the compound has to at least be on par with the van in order to have anywhere near a 70 dollar (90 euro!) value for the set. Besides, the homecoming van was massive, I’d prefer a more simple 6 wide van. Here’s sort of what I’m imagining: the compound about this size: https://brickset.com/sets/76152-1/Avengers-Wrath-of-Loki A van like the police van in this set: https://brickset.com/sets/60245-1/Police-Monster-Truck-Heist And the turret to be like the Thanos turret in this set: https://brickset.com/sets/76170-1/Iron-Man-vs-Thanos that would make for an okay play set, to me. -

Well, promobricks said the compound is 2 stories, so it’s slightly more substitutional than that. I think that will be the main build and the ant man van will be smaller. I’m glad we have a reveal date now, so I can focus on other things in my life that probably need more attention than these sets do. -
LEGO Ninjago 2021

That’s a really strange selection... none of them are in the same season together and it’s been years since firstbourne has had anything to do with the show. It’s also interesting to note that we’re getting more and more brickheadz sets that include three or more instead of individual figures, I guess they sell better that way? -

And besides, despite the inaccuracies, many of the builds were pretty good. The war machine buster and ultimate quintet are some of my favorite marvel builds. -

The_Fiery_Rooster replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yeah, I can see why. I liked it, but my friend didn’t, because he felt the character became a joke for most of the film, and in doing so ignored and made fun of the mental issues that the character had at that moment. The fact that these films have as much comedy as they do can occasionally be a detriment, and to many Thor in endgame is the perfect example of such. -

Maybe the alt face has sunglasses, ha ha! In that case, I would prefer a different face for that set, but who knows. -

I'm glad to see some more positivity, after yesterday I thought this reveal would have made this thread into chaos! Looking closer, I like the torso print, and I feel like the design gives the impression of some extra heft on the chest. I wonder what his alt face is like, if it's more aggressive or just a more normal calm/happy face? I hope we see that soon! -

It actually looks... pretty good. My only qualm is that it shows there’ll be no distinction between the two beard types he has in the film, but I’m ok with that. I expected to be more disappointed, honestly, so I’m good with this! -

Oof, I'm not too surprised though. I'm sure it'll look OK, as long as the face is good. I don't suspect we'll get a piece for the beard, it's too small. -

I know, I was trying to find a way to phrase it that was not involving time zones, but for me at least, 9 times out of 10, I see set reveals right as I wake up, and by midday nothing more happens. I know it’s not the same time everywhere, but it does seem to be consistently at the same time. Leaks, yeah, but I mean like finding pics on Amazon or an online retailer. -

Yup, it’s new. I compared it to the aquaman hair, and this one hugs the shoulders less and isn’t as long in the front. I’ll give it a few days at least till we see the whole fig. -

The_Fiery_Rooster replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I don’t think any LEGO reveals, official or otherwise, happen at this time of day. Is it? All I remember is them saying he had long hair, no comment on what piece or if it’s new. I would hope it’s new, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Aquaman hair with a new face print. Man, the amount of hype here is too much, y’all got me anxious with this mess. -
What’s so bad about the prices? Yes, the beatboxes are overpriced, but the standard sets are a pretty good value. My only complaint is the low figure counts, but given thier quality, I can forgive that. I love the look of the squid drummer, and I’m happy some of the blind box pieces have made their way into normal sets! Like someone else said, I feel like they should have released these first, rather than the beatboxes, because these have better value and actually look like LEGO sets. Now I’m actually considering getting one of these!
