  1. Really? I don't pay much attention to Star Wars, I guess I confused some of the spring releases for January. Why would Lego leave one theme for last? This is super weird
  2. You're probably right on those being alien plants, but notice how some batteries use pink cylinders vs purple ones (base launchpad is the most obvious one, also station hover-bike garage), so they are distinct. Maybe it's meant to be a kind of bio-fuel?
  3. Wow. I'm just so impressed by all these space sets! I think the idea of using a unifying banner is very interesting, but there's also some intentional connectivity between the sets. The three largest city ones all include these 'modules' using the reddish-orange frames on the ends (back of command rover, middle of ship in space base, base modules of space station) and the Friends set includes one too! (Middle of rocket) The technic sets also use those connectors, but I'm not sure how compatible those components would be with the system ones. I love the space mech, it gives me Power Miners vibes. I also noticed each color has a distinct role (green research, blue pilots, yellow construction/mining) and each also has a commander of sorts (darker color scheme, dark orange in base, dark green in station, dark blue in small ship) and then of course the captain in gold in the base. Also, all of the sets appear to use these purple cylinders as power cells, and the space base interior shows they use the purple crystals to charge them, which is an excellent attention to detail and play pattern. There's also pink ones from the pink ice cream pieces, but I'm not sure what that's supposed to be honestly. With how many themes are roped into this, I wonder which other ones will join in? Maybe Ninjago will go to space in the summer? Will Monkie Kid have another space ship set? And most importantly, will this continue past 2024?
  4. Well, last year Marvel was one of the first and now we're the last. Lego really is unpredictable like that. I suspect we'll see them tonight, alongside the rest of Star Wars sets.
  5. Honestly, for me the biggest stand out is the Sandman Tower! I love the gears sticking out of the sides, and the use of the hot air balloon pieces for the tower top, The biggest thing that impressed me though is how thorough the alternate build is, they actually feel like 2 different sets! I hope more Dreamzzz sets go this far with the idea, because it makes the set all the more impressive for it. The space car also looks great, though I'm surprised by the gold Dr. Oz and Albert, feels like a strange choice. I really like the monster included too, it's more creative than a lot of the other ones we've seen and I hope they continue in that direction with the enemies.
  6. Honestly, having seen the Ninjago mechs makes this one so much worse. The Ninjago ones are both cheaper and better looking, they put this one to shame. Oh well, I don't care much for Rouge and I'm sure Knuckles will show up somewhere else. Maybe I'll try to get the Master Emerald by itself, whether on Bricklink or B&P.
  7. Now here's the real question, is it the face plate with the nose (cap) or the one without (spiderman, Ant-Man)? If it's the nose plate, cursed sandman here we come!
  8. One more thing, why does the mech use the black ball joint pieces for the legs? They already exist in red and have been used plenty (https://brickset.com/sets/containing-part-6406930) so the fact that these are black just makes it look uglier for no real reason. Bizarre. The character is popular enough that he's bound to show up somewhere else, and I'm not itching to get Rouge, so that;s probably a good idea. At least the Shadow set is good.
  9. Knuckles set leaked, and it looks kinda goofy honestly. The arms are trying to look organic, and the lower body is trying to as well, but with the knee gaps, strange feet, and mechanical torso, it looks messy. The Rouge build is whatever, but the master emerald looks fantastic. It looks like the dress/umbrella pieces from the Disney Princess line (https://brickset.com/sets/43214-1/Twirling-Rapunzel, look at the 4th image in the more images tab), which I hope it isn't because the bottom half doesn't have any useful connections other than the minidoll body. Given that it appears to have some kind of build inside of it, I'm guessing it's a new piece so that it can be connected, but who knows.
  10. Looking back, it's actually normally December 2nd, which is a Saturday this year. Lego only does official reveals on business days, so I wonder if Lego will drop everything on December 1st or wait until Monday, December 4th. I think I know what everyone here wants.
  11. Exactly, I'm surprised more people haven't pointed out the improvement on Bowser's claws, it looks a lot better. Like everyone else here, I'm really liking the car. It captures the source material very well, and has a great value to boot! I know people are also into the Yoshi set, but I've already got a pink one and the yellow one doesn't interest me much either. The egg is a cool inclusion, but not enough to justify buying the whole set. As for the other two revealed earlier, I'm happy we finally have a cheap (and wildly available) toad house, and nabbit is a good bonus too! The penguin set has me surprised with it's price, I thought for sure it would be more expensive for the size. It's a pretty good wave so far.
  12. Just downloaded the latest update, same issue with many of the new parts only showing the outline, so it's not just you. The amount of work everyone puts into this is great, and I'm always excited to see more updates get put out! Keep it up!
  13. Yeah, the more I think about it the more potential I see in this game getting a full wave of sets. There's so much of a focus on creativity in the game that, much like minecraft, a Lego form just seems logical. Who knows if we'll ever see that though.
  14. I've been playing Tears of the Kingdom over the entire month and a half that the game has been out, and felt very inspired to render one of the game's mini bosses in Lego form: I built this first in mecabricks and then exported it into blender for rendering. I also exported other parts from Studio 2.0 to make up for some of the parts I needed that weren't in mecabricks, and then slotted them into place in blender. I'm very happy with the end results. The final model has a total of 652 parts, including all the spares needed for one of the features. I really wanted to capture a lot of the functionality this thing has in game. This included being able to swap out the weak point and placing it on various parts of the construct's body. However, those are not the only parts that can be reconfigured... https://bricksafe.com/files/The_Fiery_Rooster/moc/totk-flux-construct/Reconfiguration Video Final.mp4 (I know it's not embedded, brick safe isn't made for videos, but it still uploaded and functions. Click the link to watch) The model can be fully reconfigured into the main 3 forms you fight in game! I don't think this model is stable enough to be released as a Lego set, but it's definitely strong enough for display! There's also a chest included, which has a large zonai charge inside as well as an old map, which is the typical loot you might expect from defeating the boss. You can also remove the Flux core from inside the weak point and attach it to Link's stick to create a fused weapon! This was actually the first thing I built for this model. There's also a small terrain piece to capture a bit of the sky islands where these bosses are mostly located. Ideally, the 4x4 tiles would have a print replicating the in-game design, but I'm not a good graphic artist so I couldn't add that detail. Same goes for the Minifigure. I started building this at the beginning of the month, then rendered the images around mid June and finished the animation this past week. If you want to see the mecabricks model, you can find it in my Instagram bio, which is linked in my signature. I hope you guys enjoy it!
  15. It's great to see more of these 2 minifig polybags being made, it's honestly such a good value to get 2 figs for just $4.99. If only I could consistently actually find polypags at stores :( I wouldn't worry about that. Both Lego city and friends have the entire wave revealed at once, so I suspect we'll see them all at once. As for the time, the sets that have just been revealed (polybag included) are ones that will be added to Lego.com tomorrow, since they are all listed on Lego's instruction portal, while none of the ninjago sets are. However, I do think we could see ninjago sets tomorrow at this time, if Lego's intention is to reveal them on Wednesday. We just need to be patient.
  16. I suspect that if we get set reveals soon, it'll be from an online retailer posting them rather than Lego officially revealing them. In past years, it was around may 1st (about a range from April 29th to may 2nd) that an online retailer (usually European) would list June 1st releases and that's where the images would come from. So 9 am isn't a guarantee either. It's annoying to see people make educated guesses and then for them to either push it as a fact or for others to interpret it as such time and time again. At this point, it's just a matter of patience, and unless a very reputable source puts up a date and/or time, don't convince yourself it has to be one day or another.
  17. Nah, I don't think we're necessarily getting set pics today. I don't think Ninjago has ever had set pics released alongside a trailer, at least not as far as I can remember. As for the bounty, maybe Promobricks is right in saying that there will be a physical dragon included that rests on the front, recreating the dragon head prow. That would also explain what the empty space in the front is for, so the dragon's legs and body can fit. I'm also interested in seeing the mech-bike set, because Promobricks implies the set fully transforms into a bike, and the weel under the cockpit implies this as well, but we only see them race in the show as mechs with wheels, so who knows what the actual set will do. I think we'll see these sets soon, probably early next week, so it won't be long before we find out.
  18. I was expecting maybe 1 or 2 other kongs max, but getting this many is a great surprise! It makes me wonder how many of the sets we haven't seen are DK related. With this many characters, I'm guessing most of them are. Funky Kong is especially surprising, since he's not really part of the 'main cast', but it's very cool to see him here. It can't be long now until we see the sets!
  19. Ehh, I actually feel the bike we got is better. That one looks super busy and way to similar to the ghost rider bike, and even less worth the $45 price tag. The mech is also more generic looking, the one we got has those shoulder pads that give it a more unique look compared to other EVO mechs. The skeleton horse is a cool idea, but it doesn't look to great if I'm honest. As for the rest of the info, I'm convinced it's all made up. He literally just mashed together every complaint, wish, and fan theory together to make people mad that 'we never got what we wanted'. I'm also super skeptical that Lego would scrap enitre waves with defined set names, minifigs, and even designs, to replace them with another. I just don't think Lego's design process is quick enough to get away with that, and I also think Ninjago in particular is more carefully planned than that. As for the next Ninjago modular, I think that's just an educated guess. Ninjago City Gardens released 2 years ago at this point, so it's not crazy to say that we'll get another one in 2 years. Same with the name, it's just another word that can be associated with a part of a city (docks, garden, market). Besides, I'm happier focusing on what we get than what may have happened. As for the recent bounty leak, I like it. It has more of the shaping of the 2012 one while maintaining the detail of the legacy bounty. I fully expect the dragon head to be a detachable flyer or something, given the presence of the open hinge connector on the front, and hopefully something fills up the open deck space in the front. I'm also excited to see the interior, if the blurb on the side is accurate. We should see these sets within the next 2 weeks, so we'll find out soon!
  20. These sets look very nice! The speed sphere features are cool, but I'm glad to see they aren't the only thing this theme has to offer. I was surprised to see the animals have such a strong presence, but it's a great idea to have every badnik include an animal inside. Also interesting to see the stuntz pieces reused for this theme. The minifigs are excellent, despite how few they are. I feel they should have included Tails in the largest set and maybe knuckles too, just because 3 minifigs for $100 isn't ideal, but the ones we do get are great. Eggman is an interesting figure, the head doesn't feel too lego-like to me, but I guess all the other characters have molded heads so it fits in? Honestly, the Death Egg Robot looks like the best of them, and it's a shame it hasn't been officially revealed yet. I hope we don't have to wait too long! It would be very weird to tease a 2024 set before showing the last 2023 set, and I don't think Lego has teased a set for the next wave at the same time as the initial wave, so it's a very good bet it's the missing set. As for the size, it does seem very substantial, but it could realistically still be $60. I do agree, for this theme it seems to be an uncharacteristically good value.
  21. I know that a few certain members will think that me pointing this out is ridiculous, but just because we're not getting more sets this year doesn't mean it's dead in the water. For the first three years of its revival, Harry Potter only had waves in the summer (granted, the first wave had 7 sets) and speed champions still only has a single spring release every year.(yes, the 2 movie sets came out in August, but that was an exception, not the norm) It's not impossible that we get more sets around this time next year, although I wouldn't expect them to be based on DoD.
  22. Just to play devil's advocate here, but all the themes you mentioned only had a D2C and some brickheads, all collector-focused sets. Meanwhile, Indiana Jones is getting standard retail products. That may not seem like a significant difference, but I guarantee lego handles their standard retail lines differently than these one off collector focused lines.
  23. Sure, Hidden Side was announced in February (at NYTF), but Monkie Kid was intended to be announced and released on the same day! Lego is super unpredictable when it comes to these things, so there's no point in trying to predict it.
  24. Could be like the Jurrasic Park sets, where the visitor center was rumored at $120 and revealed to be $130 and the 4 plus set was $35 but revealed at $40, but the rest of the sets remained the same. The truth is, we don't know which prices could stay the same and which could increase.
  25. Cool to see more of the Dry Bowser Castle, but I am slightly disappointed we didn't see any other sets revealed. However, I don't necessarily want to blame Lego for this one because it was spoiled by an unintended leak. Seeing more of the set though, I'm surprised to see the very playset-like arrangement and features. The first Bowser's Castle was mostly just the large statue and play feature to fight Bowser, but this set has an actual "interior" with fun features and details, which is what I would expect for themes outside of Lego Mario. The hidden room is also nice, a war room for Bowser to plot his next scheme. Not sure why they wanted to keep it secret though. I hoped we would have seen the set Donkey Kong came in, but I'm still pleasantly surprised with what we saw. I was fully expecting DK to be a boss character, or maybe just a friend like Toad, but seeing him actually be a rideable mount for the characters is something I did not see coming! Has that ever happened in any of the games? I know the other smaller kongs ride on his back in the newer DK country games, but I can't recall something like this happening with Mario and crew. Also very happy to see the tie is a cloth piece, very nice touch. If I had to guess, I would say DK would be in 71424 ($60, 554 pieces) but that's just a guess on my part. Maybe Lego is generous and he's the build for the $10 set?
