The side view makes your ship really interesting and realistic, but for some reason I don't like the front view with the yellow tiles...

[MOC] Rey's Speeder (Realistic Scale)
FrenchLegoBoy replied to JaydenIrwin's topic in LEGO Star Wars
You're right the official one is too big at minifig's scale. You did a good job at reducing it, but as Fuppylodders asked, did you only use parts from the set ?- 22 replies

How do you use the Window Frame 4x3/Shutter 2x3?
FrenchLegoBoy replied to suenkachun's topic in Community
Well first time I see those kinds of blinds / shutters... I still think their place is on the outside, unless you want to go fancy on that, USA style suenkachun. -

[LDD MOC] Star Wars Rebels A-Wing Starfighter
FrenchLegoBoy replied to StarWars8Spoiler's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That was not clear, I apologize for that. I meant that all colors fit perfectly well,, except those red grills, even if they are present on the source material. Or maybe it's just me... -
LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
FrenchLegoBoy replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This one and all the others Clone Wars movie-based sets were backed up by the hype. Furthermore, the TCW clones were new and unique at that time, explaining to me why it sold well. Nowadays like Darth Caedus said, you won't find anything like this, because the minifigs make the sets, not the opposite. -
Thank you Mr Man. I do try to make a lot to see, big MOCs are boring as hell when they're technically empty

[LDD MOC] Star Wars Rebels A-Wing Starfighter
FrenchLegoBoy replied to StarWars8Spoiler's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I know how the original looks, but I would find 2 offset things in the LEGO replica that just don't seem to fit well : - The red 1x2 grills on the sides of the cockpit : did you try to just tile the area or use them in white ? I think it should be even better. - The area above the reactors, a bit too blocky for me, but that's really a hard part to deal with for sure... I don't know how you could have done it otherwise... -

Rebels is not my thing either, but I recognize great work when I see it. And this is pretty well done, man.

How do you use the Window Frame 4x3/Shutter 2x3?
FrenchLegoBoy replied to suenkachun's topic in Community
dr_spock, I got exactly those ones at home (except my shutters are a bit larger), and I can close everything from the inside. suenkachun, the thing is, shutters are not made to be used as curtains, therefore I don't see how they could fit on the inside... My take on this is that you should place them outside for both decoration and normal uses. -
Cool atmosphere and amazing textures on the walls, I am stunned. I would have seen a higher tower though, it looks like unfinished

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
FrenchLegoBoy replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
First step is admitting you sir are upon a big project right now, and that it should be treated as such, by willingly putting the time and the effort or your creation will suffer your lack of commitment. I can also share techniques I use : use big blocky bricks to filling big parts of your MOC, try to save money when you can by placing quite huge orders containing everything you need for one specific area of your MOC, and starting building from that point. LDD / Drawing before building are great tools too allowing you to visualize your thoughts before lending a hand I hope you will hold on to your idea :) -
You should find something else than this big wedge for the nose, like others said it's a bit misplaced... I can't believe blue and light/dark gray go that well together :) I also love the details around Artoo, really neat work overall

Thanks. I had to be mindful of real SW ships and bases where there are tubes, control panels and computers everywhere, and then I always strive to be as accurate and realistic as possible.

I know how you feel like, Danorak81. I got into Lego again when I was 15, but I already had experienced the little bricks before, when I was way younger. But when my interest rose once more for the brand, I realized my parents threw away every single part I had... I sadly had to buy what I needed to MOC again, but I don't have the collecting virus that much so my purchases were/are/will be mostly parts for Star Wars / LOTR builds

Dark Tranquility and Battle Beast, you guys know the good stuff :D Right now I am listenning to .

Great design, except the front part, too blocky in my opinion. I also wonder what it would have looked like in gray/dark gray/dark tan only though
-
Thanks to everyone, I am proud you like my work. I would have changed the roof and added brown layers if I had, respectively, more tiles and more plates, but the Lego budget is limited. I am working on a The Clone Wars MOC at the moment, should be finished within days.
